I know some of these houses aren't the most fascinating, but most at least have lore bits, and it'd be cool to see an updated actual detailed map of the lands. Just a request! Thank you for making all this content!
In an age where honor and face is everything, that poor kid (heir to oldstones) kinda had to do something when the heir to fairmarket literally named him craven. Remember when Fingolfin rode up to Angband and challenged Morgoth to a 1v1 fight and then named him Craven in front of all of his lieutenants thus forcing him to accept?
I know the second half is LOTR since Fingolfin and Morgoth. But the first half is wrong, Blackwood are the lords of Raventree not Oldstones and Brackens were the lord of Stone Hedge not fairmarket
It was probably just to add some air of mystery in the show. Shows don't always have to translate page to film 100% accurately. Sometimes little detail changes can make the most powerful affect on the show, in a positive manner. The Last Of Us is the most recent example of changes from the source material to film being for the betterment of the project. As long as the showrunners do the source material justice, then I'm all for it. A simple name change could also add much more spontaneity to the show. Since we know what will happen in the books, this can be fun to watch in live action, as we don't know it will happen exactly as it was written. Plus it also factors into how the books were written. With Fire and Blood being comprised of third party information, there is room for interpretation and play on some accords.
If the Brackens could be proven to having poisoned a heart tree, then their family should be attainted and all of their holdings surrendered to House Blackwood.

Not a book reader but I don't know for sure but I can say from the show that Rhaenyra's kids are just a blank state while Alicent's kids are much more interesting, Aegon is a man who does not want to fulfill his duties and is forced to adjust to this environment, Halaena is a dragon rider and a dreamer, Aemond is a man who's brutal and skilled and would do anything for his family.
Alicent family is pure toxicity, i feel like rhaenyra and viserys really loved her children but alicent was detached from them bcs she was forced to conceive them
Cool that the Blackwoods don't bear the Starks a grudge and turned out the most staunch loyalists in the Riverlands
Hello whycreate, do you think you could do some updated map details videos? It would be cool to see more of the details and lands of the minor houses that inhabit the kingdoms, and maybe some lore/history behind them. I just watched the Crownlands video again and its like 70% history of Kings Landing and 30% on the actual crownlands, and it doesn't even mention House Hayford :(. I know some of these houses aren't the most fascinating, but most at least have lore bits, and it'd be cool to see an updated actual detailed map of the lands.
Just a request! Thank you for making all this content!
give us Bloodraven vs Bittersteel, maybe people would actually care for this age old family feud.
House Blackwood > House Bracken
Well what can house bracken do when the author himself has a massive boner for house blackwood
Fax
All day everyday!
House blackwood= fanfic
House bracken = can do no right
There's no choice to be made because GRRM already made it for you
Well yeah it's totally not a match Bracken only have 1 cool character while Blackwood have atleast 3.
Fantastic video keep it up your doing amazing job
If Willem comes back from that WHOLE sword stabbing-he is a zombie. He will be the Living Dead because NO way is he living through that.
How come the Bracken didn’t have a sword? He only had a dagger, no wonder he lost.
Wtf? Am i High or what?
@@davosseaworth9479 yes
I know the second half is LOTR since Fingolfin and Morgoth. But the first half is wrong, Blackwood are the lords of Raventree not Oldstones and Brackens were the lord of Stone Hedge not fairmarket

You’re right! Old stones are ruins, I was going off of my map
The Blackwoods were known for being *tall* and slim/lean.
If the Brackens could be proven to having poisoned a heart tree, then their family should be attainted and all of their holdings surrendered to House Blackwood.
Willem probably be dead by a Bracken but not until leaving an heir named Benjicot in the care of his sister, the Lady Blackwood. Then the North arrives
I was genuinly surprised by this scene
I bet if Daemon was there, he'd giggle and place thuglife glasses and thuglife gold chains around kid badass😅
we will see this kid at harrenhall bargaining with daemon targaryen in episode 0204 The Red Dragon and the Gold.
And then beheaded by daemon 3 episodes later.
You have the most soothing voice on all of RUclips
How dare you call Samwell a coward? The first human to slay an Other in living memory? Shame on you
Half-Assisted suicide
17 years later he’ll turn into Robert the Bruce?
House Blackwood also spawned the best character in all of ASOIAF Lord Bloodraven Brynden Rivers
House blackwood is a fanfic house.
this guy is gonna pop off and be a menace
😂 Yep War Criminal
I really do hope they do not change Bloody Benjicot Blackwoods name
The Lady Mormont of House of the Dragon.
No way he survived tbh
A Song of Ice and Fire Book Five: A Dance with Dragons
(After Jaime ends the siege in Riverrun and ensures the loyalty of the Blackwoods by taking one of their sons as a hostage and one daughter from the Brackens)
"So we go on century after century. with us hating the Brackens and them hating us. My father says there will never be an end to it."
- Hoster Blackwood (Jaime's hostage)
"There could be."
- Jaime Lannister
"How, my lord? The old wounds never heal, my father says."
- Hoster Blackwood
"My father had a saying too. Never wound a foe when you can kill him. Dead men can't claim vengeance."
- Jaime Lannister
"Their sons do."
- Hoster Blackwood
"Not if you kill their sons as well. Ask the Casterlys about that if you doubt me. Ask Lord and Lady Tarbeck, or the Reynes of Castamere. Ask the Prince of Dragonstone."
- Jaime Lannister
"Is that why you killed all the Starks?"
- Hoster Blackwood
"Not all, Lord Eddard's daughters live. One has just been wed. The other...." (Brienne, where are you? Have you found her?) "... if the gods are good, she'll forget she was a Stark. She'll wed some burly blacksmith or fat faced innkeep, fill his house with children, and never need to fear that some knight might come along to smash their heads against a wall."
- Jaime Lannister
"The gods are good."
-Hoster Blackwood
(You go on believing that.)
- Jaime Lannister's thought
You have to Love this guy
I hope he shows off next season as a skilled fighter and loyal to the Targaryen's
Both are Targaryen's which side you mean?
Craven must've been like a curse word back in those days I always think of the character from Underworld when I hear it
It’s basically calling someone a coward and with how important a persons honor was at this time those would be fighting words
If I remember correctly, it was a Bracken knight who won the duel.
Calling his kids bastards takes guts, which he'll promptly examine
Can’t wait to meet the see house Blackwood again
lol, dude brought a dagger to a sword fight.
Emma D’Arcy is waaay to homely to be “the realms delight” more like “the realms butter face”
Hahaha that's hilarious. Welcome to the world of anyone can be anything weather they are skilled or not. Really sucks. The quality of acting in shows has fell off a cliff
wainting to see his heir, Bloody Ben Blackwood
Daemon made my shit list as a hypocrite, and ball tripper this season, Rhaenyra is trash too
5 bucks says the dude did die and his brother is the name from the book and is a lord who is William’s rival
I hope Willem keep a slim and slender figure so he's the quick on his feet type of fighter to oppose the massive Jerrel who'll definitely carry some trauma from that encouter they have at Storm's End. Exciting things to look forward.
Rhaenyra has Criston Cole with her, who could difusse the situation. Instead... Rhaenyra runs away like a craven.
He's meant to protect her, not break up petty disputes. Her leaving when swords are drawn is self-protection, she's the heir to the throne, not some maid or something.
@@crayolaclouds2696She could’ve ordered him to stop the fight, the kingsgaurd do what they’re commanded. Also it wasn’t dangerous for her since they were just dueling each other, instead of keeping the peace between two of her future bannermen she fled like the foolish teenager she was
Yea jerrell bracken died idk wtf ur talking about him being casted
Rhaenyra should’ve married Willem Blackwood
Brynden rivers(bloodraven) mother is a Blackwood, so Willem is a pretty recent relative. Also Aegor bittersteel, another bastard of Aegon the IV, mother is a Bracken. They kept the beef going 😂
Very much dislike that you stated that Samwell was the ultimate coward. The point of his story is that once he had something he loved he became courageous, because he had to be. Unfortunately the show ruined him
i think you got it wrong when rhaenyra said "i quite like that one".
i think she meant the kid, having said that he was a child so he wasn't really considered.
she said that after Jerrel Bracken called Blackwood a dumb C. She was favoring Jerrel at that moment.
His sister and his son may played important roles in the future wars.
the kid was a badass
but isnt the bracken guy dead
Let go Benjicot Blackwood, Ben of the bloody blade
He will totally wreck the greens together with Cregan Stark and the lads
Lannisters: Hear Me Roar
Starks: Winter Is Coming
Baratheons: Ours Is The Fury
Blackwoods: Fck the Brackens
Her mishandling of this scene was absolutely key to season 1. If she had handled herself better on marriage tour, she wouldn’t have kicked up the kindling again in the riverlands.
My question is if the book is opposite if Amos the one stab Samwell by a Sword then how would Benji Blackwood get born?
It's satisfying turning 999 to 1K 😂
I’m just hoping they don’t go too far from the source material when it comes to the Lads (Samwells son and the Tully Children)
Sam is NOT a coward!!
💯 Sam was fighter
