I’m sorry to be a wet blanket, but have short memories, don’t we? The Mets did this last April, going on an 11-3 run, capped by winning 5 of their first 7 games in LA and SF. And then everything fell apart. The starting rotation has a 1.40 WHIP. Their low ERA is a mirage; that WHIP is awful. You can only get away with that much traffic on the bases for so long, especially when you allow a lot of hard contact, you don’t miss bats, and you’re playing poor defense. I don’t know when the roof is going to cave in-but barring a major change, it’s going to cave in.
