It's been a long while since I've seen a game with both teams pitching being so wild! Great to see Garrett come in and steady the ship. Always great to see Marte hitting bombs as well. #LFGM
Marte not playing well last year was so huge for the Mets finished with a poor record. Him playing well is so important for success this year.
He shows almost zero emotion, almost as if he doesn't care.
I am sure that's not the case, but he never argues calls it seems.
He just plays bad sometimes and it's like "meh whatever".
Good to see him hitting and being productive though, like you said.
@@puppethound last year im sure he didn't care since he was dealing with injuries all season. His body probably didn't feel right all year. There is also a good chance he is on his last contract of his career which would lead him to not putting as much effort in since he isn't angling for a new deal.
@@puppethoundYou literally thought the same thing I did about him. He's a guy who doesn't seem to care about anything, like he's very relaxed, but I don't care much about that as long as he can contribute to the team.
This was a crazy game. The first game on WPIX Channel 11. I don't have cable TV, so I was glad to watch it, and my station where I live gets the Mets pix 11 games. Well, another series win for a team that started out awful. I didn't know which team was going to win. Back and forth. Luckily, we pulled it off, and let's go and sweep the Dodgers. Let's go, Mets!

And how about the support the players are showing each other when they are down. Weather from a bad inning, a bad play, hitting slump the support has been tremendous. So happy right now! #LFGM

My goodness this team is getting absurdly lucky, but we’ve seen this story before, almost exactly one year ago. The Mets went on a nice run last April, including winning two of three in LA, but the wheels came off soon after. The good times are going to end very soon. All the walks and hard contact Mets’ starters are allowing (and how few bats they’re missing) are going to come back to bite them.
With Marte and Lindor now playing to their capabilities, and with some of the other No-Name players they acquired during the Off Season, it apparent that Stearns may have found some kind of Genie in a Bottle!! The Metsies are showing a nice blend of Speed (Stealing Bases) and hitting timely Homers with good releirf pitching is a winning Formula. Man, was a Reed a Find off the dead Pile!! Drew Smith continues to be an anomoly.....One day good, the next bad. He has been this way for years. Love to see a SWEEP of the Dodgers, albeit they have 3 Starters Down for the Count.

Marte when uninjured is about as good as reliable in any spot in the lineup and on the basepaths. Also bases loaded stay loaded. R Garrett showing out

That umpire was all over the place with his calls. All the pitchers were painting corners and some should have strikes. I don't know the stat line, but from the replays there had to be a dozen walks. Ump had a bad day. LGM

Wait why was Diaz put in the 8th and Garrett put in the 9th for the save?
the dodgers have an extremely top-heavy lineup with betts ohtani and freeman, with hernandez and muncy not too far behind them in terms of power. they were all due up in the 8th and after lopez walked betts they needed to use diaz to clean up shop. the dodgers' bottom half of the order has like a sub .500 OPS or something so they were comfortable putting reed garrett in to face them in the 9th, which just happened to be a save situation

We should’ve lost this game. The dodgers had many opportunities with the bases loaded yet they couldn’t convert on it.

Don’t you realize that the same 3 batters were on base during those opportunities? We strategically pitched around those 3 batters since we had a better chance at getting the 4-9 hitters out.

My generation (yes us old folks) saw this organization win its first ever world series back in 1969... that year no one expected us to even come close to winning 75 games... we were no-hit by Bob Moose and the Pirates... Hall of Famer Steve Carlton stuck out 19 Mets but we still won the game on two homers by Ron Swoboda... do you get my drift? Just enjoy the great moments and see where we end up this year!!
