    It's funny to see the reactions of the hitters! Some of them are like "ain't no way you just did that" and some are like "I can't even be mad, that was impressive"

      It's probably easier have the "I can't be mad" reaction when you're down 9-1 like at 8:40.
      What I'd like to see is the pitcher's reaction throughout the whole thing. We usually get the "ah shoot, so much for that" look, but never how it changes after the catch is made.

    Gary Matthew Jr. will always be tops @ 7:49. Sun bearing down, back to the ball, twisting grab, 180. Difficulty level is off the charts

      Exactly. Still the best, IMHO. I'm very surprised that they had Pillar's Blue Jays catch shown after... since GM Jr's had a higher degree of difficulty.

      Totally agree. He had his back completely facing the plate, and he had to take his eye off the ball at the end, effectively making a blind catch.

      It would be the best catch jumping off the wall. Mike Trout did not need the wall. As a matter of fact, the wall made it difficult for Trout to keep the ball in the glove.

    Glad they had Griffey in there, but Jay Buhner's catch at Fenway needed to be in those clips too. He actually did go over the wall in right field to make the catch.

      IPTV exists, and it's cheap ($10 to $15 per month). Just don't pay for more than a month at a time because services tend to come and go.

      Trout has been in his shadow since 2021 when Ohtani became a "true two-way player", but I believe that a "healthy Trout" is the only baseball player who can compete with Ohtani.

      Some guys just aren’t winners and Trout may be the best example in all of sports ever. It used to be Dan Marino. Now it’s Trout. Dudes a loser. Some guys don’t know how to get it done and just accumulate stats. Losers lose. Some of it’s luck but some guys just don’t know how to win

    The first Pillar catch is a lot more insane than you think. His body was not in a good position to catch it, as the ball was heading straight for him at the waist, he had to adjust his glove, and still had to catch the ball with his glove "overhand." It's a really uncomfortable way to catch it and often leads to a drop, but he had enough power to squeeze it at the end of the glvoe as well

    The amazing thing about Aaron Judge’s robbing Ohtani’s hr is that Judge blasted a mammoth hr in the bottom half of the same inning. Big guy was just showing him how it’s done

    I was at the game where Mookie made that catch. An amazing way to top off a great shutout win! Papi had 3 RBIs, pitching only gave up 2 hits, the catch, it was all just incredible

    3-Kiermairer, 2-Edmonds, and 1-Matthews are the 3 best as far as I’m concerned. Honorable mention to Pillar because he always seems to rob a HR at least twice a year.

    Endy Chavez in the 2006 NLCS should’ve been included on this list. Still a great video, but Chavez not only robbed a potential Scott Rolen home run but he did it full speed, slammed against the wall, then threw it into the infield to the second baseman who threw it to first for an inning-ending double play.

    Mike Tauchman had the most interesting Giants career. In just 64 games, Tauchman had two incredible game-saving catches, and slammed two dynamic game-winning home runs (One with an 0-2 count, if I recall). But unfortunately he didn't do much else at the plate in the orange and black, to the tune of a 56 OPS+ (.178/.286/.283)

    Mookie's grab against Davis: The quip about Mookie staying in the ballpark "this time" is a reference to the Jose Abreu homer when Mookie dropped the ball as he flipped into the bullpen
    Kevin Kiermaier's grab in Baltimore: Pretty much the same spot where Trout robbed Hardy; even had the same sponsor on the outfield wall where the catch was made
    Gary Matthews Jr: Lamb looking for the single, instead he's got... *_ROBBERY!!!_*
    2002 All-Star Game: If Torii hadn't made that grab, the 11-inning tie due to lack of remaining players wouldn't have happened

    Torii Hunter was probably the first baseball player that I knew the name of when I was a kid (him or Joe Mauer), and I was a massive fan. Broke my heart when he went to the Angels- I didn't know that players could be traded or sign with other teams, so it was a bit of a rude awakening.

    The best of these was easily Gary Matthews Jr. The greatest catch (and home run robbery) I ever saw was by a lesser known player named Larry Harlow of the Orioles decades ago. And you left out the one guy who has probably made more spectacular home run robbery catches than anyone . . . . Kenny Lofton.

      He's a Met. You'll also notice Endy's catch is somehow not on this list. Imagine having an NBA best playoff game-winners and having no Jordan shots. They can't have just forgotten. Chavez is a Met, Nimmo is a Met, so you won't see @MLB mention them ever.
