Yes, it will be a bit easier with a new deck because the cards are stiffer; but once you practice it for a while you will know how much pressure you need to use depending on the condition of the cards.
For some of you that are having trouble like i did, it may be due to the fact that you are holding the cards at an angle upwards which makes it a lot harder to flick the card at the end of the trick, i lowered the angle to flat parallel with the ground and it instantly helped :) Hope this helps
You are very VERY impressive. Your skills are without parallels - and you have a relaxed yet confident manner in your tutorials. Major kudos to you, Sir ! !
52Kards I have been working on this (on and off) all day, and I pretty much have the cut down pat, however I find that I have to spend about 5 seconds after performing the cut to try to square up the cards one handed with the chosen card protruding. Any tips that might help? thx
You are always awesome at these tutorials. While practicing this I always found myself cutting my first finger on the side. Wearing a band-aid really helps.
what i really like about this video is that someone finally explains the hot shot in a rather simple way - tons of YT-tutorial-magicians (not to mention any names ;) ) turn this move into something way to complicated, even though it really should be included into many different routines, because it fits...*subscribed*
little tip for everybody! put your thumb a bit higher to create more pressure to start and shoot the card abit, after that you can find other ways to create pressure!
Yeah I tried it with a cheap deck in the card just bent until it fellt down like piece of paper. Cheap decks are good for different stuff but not for things like that...
Try using a lighter touch on the card that you are pivoting out and hopefully that will prevent any other cards from moving. The stiffer the card the easier it will be to build up energy in the card when you flex it and the faster it will spin. However, once you practice this a lot you should be able to do it with any deck.
i like your tutorials so much more than mismags, or any other magician on youtube. They are very detailed, very good quality and tricks are not some cheap card counting tricks that you usually see. very nice videos, love it
great tutorial. i've only been at it for an hour or so now and i can already pull it off (sloppily and not every time) because of your clear instruction! lookin forward to a month or so of repetition before i can show it off
Are you left or right handed? You may have talked about this before but this is the first video of yours that I am watching. I'm asking because I'm right handed but in some instances I want to use my left hand when doing card tricks. Do you recommend using the dominant hand or whatever is most comfortable?
This is really difficult with small hands! XD I've been working on it for about three months now and I'm just starting to get the hang of it! :P Thanks so much for the tutorial!
Thank you.. You explain tricks very well.. I like your explenation very much.. I have watched disturb reality's video before about hot shot (i like disturb reality too)but there it seemed impossible. But now i am watching your video it is excellent
+Harold Davidson Large hands and fingers is really really useful in cardistry. It requires less practice since you have smaller stretches to do. Lucky you Still, the knuckle cut doesn't require big hands at all. I have freaking tiny hands and was able to perform this cut in less than 5mins sir. Lucky me.
Just the info on placing pack between fingers and chilling out is priceless. as I'm sure everyone practices multiple tricks at once and stretching and sometimes scaring over kind periods of time is the price to pay. as well as shit loads of time 😁
for people with smaller hands use your ring and pointer, you can also use your middle finger to balace the cards when your are practicing, so pointer on the left of the deck, middle on top and then ring on the right of the deck... this helps with keeping the cards in your hands when doing the shuffle
Kaviru Gunaratne was tough for me too the note for me was to keep ur middle finger extended, pracice with one card putting it nesr the middle and moving it a little more further from the rest of the deck and rotsted 90 degrees from the deck so ur middle finger fully extends, i put too much pressure when u do it u realise u dont need much and only put ur middle finger not index while shooting, only use index to adjust the card
Thank you for replying, and thats why the quality looks so good. Also thanks for doing that mini tutorial on the one handed cut you used, I can now do it :D
"You really have control over the direction of the shot, and the distance" Well, looking at the fact that you know that its never going to shoot out and its gonna fall out, it really does always go where you expect it to go! I hate it when people don't mention that you need a specific type of cards in order to do it.. I can guarantee you its not gonna work with a normal deck.
The Spanish Inquisition I've been using a regular, well-used Queen's Slipper deck that you can buy from any Australian supermarket for a couple of dollars. Had some trouble at the start, but they seem to be shooting out fine with practice.
+The Spanish Inquisition Works for me 10/10 (If I get the cut right) on Bicycle Standard (The most normal deck you can find). Maybe you're making a mistake somewhere?
This is a great tutorial! Strait to the point but still informative, great description with some specifics on placement and it was really easy to learn thanks to this! I tried some other tutorials on this move and i liked this one the best!
try more. two days aint enough for any cardistry move buddy ! if you want it, you gotta practice til you nail it perfectly, and it takes years :). if you give up after two days, may i tell you : you're not made for either cardistry or magic. or any other art form tbh. because it requires thousand hours of practice
+iGeriya It's not like that. After 2 days you are supposed to at least have a grasp. Not mastering it, but at least be decent. It only took me 3 days to learn the pass and the symbian cut, after that I just want to perfect them as much as I can. It shouldn't take years for you to learn something.
+Daniel Lewis IF you have small hands : TRY AGAIN. You don't need big hands to get this cut down you tard. I have smaller hands than you will ever get to see, and I got it down in minutes only. Because it doesn't require big or large hands at all, it's just in your head.
Hey Asad! First I wanna thank u for another terrific tutorial! Actually your channel was the catalyst for my interest in cardistry, when I was just starting out. That being said: I'd really love seeing some performance videos of you....as in performing to spectators or at least to the camera(as if u were in front of a crowd) I find it very hard not only to do the tricks flawlessly but also add some kinda personality to my performance. Thanks again! Nice video btw.
I have almost the same problem the difference is I can only shoot it a few inches the way to shoot it my distance is to pull the card toward the back side of the deck causing the front side to fling out
For those who can't shoot out the cards, you can be applying too much pressure on the deck so it's hard for the card the even move out. Relief pressure on your deck by holding the deck with your other hand and have a feel of using just your middle finger rotate the card out
And retract your middle finger, don't push it too high up. A little tension is more than enough. And for those short fingers, you don't have to necessarily place your middle finger at the top corner - that's just for more spin. Place it at a place you can retract comfortably (but still near the top corner)
Oh geat =D I love these little flourishes/tricks, they are so fun to learn and look so epic. Defintly looking forward to more of these (or any other video you make).
a suggest for tuts like this, where you have a move in which a finger-under-the-deck is essential, you should some how try to show a view from under. i know you say you should experiment with placement and technique until it becomes comfortable, but for the longest time i had an issue because of a simple error. I think if we saw how you did it, we could kindof get a basis for where to start with the formation of the finger. a move with a flick or flip requires a sort of precision.
i love the tutorial, got everything down exactly as you said but i just cant quite get the part when you throw it, i have the concept but it just doesnt happen. Great video though thanks a ton!
There are ways that you can maintain the deck to make it last as long as possible. Keep them in dry room temperature environments, wash your hands before using, etc. Maybe I will make a video one of these days going over these tips
To everyone with small hands: I am 11! When i first saw this, i could barely do it, but i kept practicing over and over, but i almost got it! This does not take years and years of practice, but it takes a ton of practice. I first saw this vid a month ago, and i just kept trying and i finally got it!
Also using a bicycle shadow masters deck and I find that this trick works fine if you add some extra momentum. If you have big enough hands you can also snap your middle finger forwards while pulling up to give the card a bit more force. Also try flicking your wrist a bit in the direction you want the card to go
Really thankful for this tutorial! I just spent a night and day practicing on it and already I can do it quite casually and successfully. Although initially it is uncomfortable holding with first and middle finger, the feeling quickly diminishes after a few hours of practice. This is a great trick that does not require years of practice to master. Next, I'm gonna work on speed and accuracy of landing the card where I want. Though I'm having success with this, I have spent hours with the top shot card trick but haven't even had one success... guessing my pinky is too weak~ Sigh~

52Kards q
I need another angle of the trick
52Kards you took so long I had to go to the hospital because my fingers got separated bad
I deserve a gold deck of bicacle cards
Man :D the hardest think was how to get these cards between my two fingers in one hand ..(sorry about my grammar)
If you practice enough, you should be able to do almost any move or trick even with small hands. Don't give up!
I tried performing this trick. Failed miserably. Was diagnosed with arthritis a couple of days later
Brawly Boy basically your joints are stiff and ache regularly
Wait really? Or this a joke
Ey boss, answer. Are you good?
ejo what
"you really do have a lot of control over the direction and distance of the card being shot"
no sir I do not
tries one hand cut as shown in 0:52
drops the deck and starts picking up all the cards
Kim Daniel That's exactly what happened to me.
So it did work somewhat haha, you produced some cards.
hahaha
Yes, it will be a bit easier with a new deck because the cards are stiffer; but once you practice it for a while you will know how much pressure you need to use depending on the condition of the cards.

+52Kards I know you made this video a long time ago but do you remember the name of this cut you teach at the beginning?
+seth Jim one hand cut he said
I really love the Monarchs. Great feel and I like the look. You can check the link in the description box if you are interested in buying some.
-Asad
You are always awesome at these tutorials.
While practicing this I always found myself cutting my first finger on the side.
Wearing a band-aid really helps.
Which is more difficult to learn the hot shot or the top shot?
Top shot in my opinion
+ThePROpcgaming This is so easy, the only hard in this trick is the cut and the shot
+James Martin 08 that's basically the whole thing.
***** I know, what i mean is, the trick is easy, you can do it easily if you know how to cut and to shot the card
James Martin 08 I think the cut is really easy, it's just about getting the position of your fingers right. I think the shot is harder to perform
what i really like about this video is that someone finally explains the hot shot in a rather simple way - tons of YT-tutorial-magicians (not to mention any names ;) ) turn this move into something way to complicated, even though it really should be included into many different routines, because it fits...*subscribed*
Let's just have a moment to say thankyou and love you.
After a bunch of practise I've got this nailed now. Thank you Asad. Such a good production.
little tip for everybody! put your thumb a bit higher to create more pressure to start and shoot the card abit, after that you can find other ways to create pressure!
Thanks for the tip.
Shado NinjaV thankyyy
Wow it works thank you :D
I haven't tried this yet, but it seems completely manageable with some practice. Very very clear instructions. I love card throwing tricks!
Hot Shot Paper Cut Tutorial
I really miss the old days when I used watch your tutorials 😩💕💕💓
my card bends to its doom
I just don't use my thumb. seems to take care of that.
Yeah I tried it with a cheap deck in the card just bent until it fellt down like piece of paper. Cheap decks are good for different stuff but not for things like that...
Really like how you use the angle in front to show the performance then a close up for the actual tutorial. Great work.
52 kards I think u r very talented and awesome I have subscribed and told all my friends about u. Thx for teaching me a lot of awesome stuff
I think Asad teaches the best tutorials. He explains it so well, by not taking to much time on one thing. Great!
For Anyone Having Trouble on make the card fly, try angling the card down. Yes it doesnt get as far but, it works.
Try using a lighter touch on the card that you are pivoting out and hopefully that will prevent any other cards from moving. The stiffer the card the easier it will be to build up energy in the card when you flex it and the faster it will spin. However, once you practice this a lot you should be able to do it with any deck.
I can do the cut but not the shot
Same. It just spins and falls straight down
Do not completely close the break between two breaks ! Leave some some space !
+Muhammad Salman thanks
can you help me out, im having trouble out jogging the cards, by the time my finger stretches all the way out, i only out jogged it halfway
I can do the shot but not the cut
Thanks for the tutorial
guys,
use thicker casino grade stock cards, stiffer cards, unbroken in cards, new cards
i like your tutorials so much more than mismags, or any other magician on youtube. They are very detailed, very good quality and tricks are not some cheap card counting tricks that you usually see. very nice videos, love it

I'm asking because I'm right handed but in some instances I want to use my left hand when doing card tricks. Do you recommend using the dominant hand or whatever is most comfortable?
valid question..is he performing with his dominant hand or not..lol
You are awesome, I have been trying to learn this for so long but no one taught it as good as you
*LOOK OUT! I HAVE CARDS AND IM NOT AFRAID TO USE THEM!!!*
love it man, i got so many great reactions on the street
Thank you so much!! I learned in 2 days of practice :)
That's cool
Daniel Oliveira i
Me too
2 hours were enough for me ^_^ now I feel genuienly impressed by myself
Did you use your dominant hand or the other? I dont know if the person in the video is left or right handed
You broke my hand with this XD
Thank you for all the great tutorials. They have really helped me allot in learning moves and tricks.
I'm struggling with the actual shooting I keep bending all of my cards any help?
This is really difficult with small hands! XD I've been working on it for about three months now and I'm just starting to get the hang of it! :P
Thanks so much for the tutorial!
It doesn't shoot in mine >< I mastered the cut and the outjogging of the card. But the shooting just isn't working. What to do asad?
It is easier if you do it with a springy thick stock deck, artifice works nice
I'll give you a tip theres another way to shot the card try to flick it
Took me a while to break that ceilling. The trick (for me) was to use two fingers to throw the card instead of just one.
Congratulations ! You have made an awesome tutorial. Good view, slow, clear, calm voice, ... very, very good. Thank you very much.
are u left handed or right handed because its kinda hard to shot card from left hand.
Danial khan if you're right handed, then for most shuffels' tricks etc, it's better to hold the card in your left hand. Trust me
Thank you.. You explain tricks very well.. I like your explenation very much.. I have watched disturb reality's video before about hot shot (i like disturb reality too)but there it seemed impossible. But now i am watching your video it is excellent
this is like impossible to do
my hands are too small, and my cards wont do the tension thing so it spins
I finally got this down after a week of almost non stop practice.
Seeing the comments below makes me so much more appreciative of my big hands. :)
Harold Davidson Lucky you (?)
+Harold Davidson Large hands and fingers is really really useful in cardistry. It requires less practice since you have smaller stretches to do. Lucky you
Still, the knuckle cut doesn't require big hands at all. I have freaking tiny hands and was able to perform this cut in less than 5mins sir. Lucky me.
+Harold Davidson But for some moves smaller hands are better
Love this trick, using this as an occasional finish to my ambitious card.
Bicycle Cards hurt :(
Omg u r amazing. Ur tutorial is helpful alot, is helpful so much. Thank you 52Kards
What if your right handed
I am right handed. If your right hand is dominant, you should be holding the pack in your left hand.
52Kards why is it that should be holding it in your left hand if you're right handed
Martin Cruz it just works that way
That's highly impressive Mae!
Love your videos in 2k16, too!
I cut both fingers practicing this trick too much :(
Just the info on placing pack between fingers and chilling out is priceless. as I'm sure everyone practices multiple tricks at once and stretching and sometimes scaring over kind periods of time is the price to pay. as well as shit loads of time 😁
You know what! my fingers are to small to do this trick... :(
Same.
Ömer Atasoy but i use my cards that i got from my cereal toys :D
my hand is small too but you know what i can do hotshot now, you should just practice it everyday😂😂 goodluck
Jayson Lupague Thx!
Use a bridge deck
for people with smaller hands use your ring and pointer, you can also use your middle finger to balace the cards when your are practicing, so pointer on the left of the deck, middle on top and then ring on the right of the deck... this helps with keeping the cards in your hands when doing the shuffle
I just can't shoot it out, it sort of just drops
+orji chinaz same

I learned this in 16 hours (straight)
That one handed cut was so simple, I learned how to do it in only 25 minutes! Thanks! That was my first time. I fooled my friend.
Having a really tough time getting only 1 card to come out in the out jogging... Everything else seems to be fine
Amazon. I'll do a product review for it soon. I'm really liking this one a lot, and it was cheap!

Thanks man I got the trick in one hour. Amazing! Don't mind if anyone is not appreciating you! But you did a great job!
I feel like this is more of a tutorial on how to play 52 card pick up
Chris Baguley lol
Great Asad you are very good at teaching..I tried to learn this a few months ago..but couldn't and now I can do this..Thanks
"kind of looks like a gun now.. Right?"
No
Same I said to myself :D
it kinda does
Oh, man... Simply fabulous trick! Your explanation is great as always. Thanks for your time.
You can check out my new made in depth tutorial :)
Hey Asad! First I wanna thank u for another terrific tutorial! Actually your channel was the catalyst for my interest in cardistry, when I was just starting out.
That being said:
I'd really love seeing some performance videos of you....as in performing to spectators or at least to the camera(as if u were in front of a crowd)
I find it very hard not only to do the tricks flawlessly but also add some kinda personality to my performance.
Thanks again! Nice video btw.
I can do the cut but only thing is I can't shoot it :(
I have almost the same problem the difference is I can only shoot it a few inches the way to shoot it my distance is to pull the card toward the back side of the deck causing the front side to fling out
For those who can't shoot out the cards, you can be applying too much pressure on the deck so it's hard for the card the even move out. Relief pressure on your deck by holding the deck with your other hand and have a feel of using just your middle finger rotate the card out

i can't fucking shoot the card and i am getting tilted..any help?
Get Em Clone I have a tip for you... Stop watching Shaclone
lmao..already did..actually i can do the trick now..and i stopped playing lol..overwatch is love
Thanks so much! Very easy to understand and you learn quick!
So hard to shoot. It is not even leaving the deck XD
I know I might be too late but try and apply less pressure with you thumb
Also, thanks for posting this! I've been trying to figure out Shawn Farquhar's last flourish in his Shapy of My Heart video, and you nailed it for me.
can't even fit the cards between my fingers :'(
Paul Mitchell hello my child, your too young for this
Andrew Chen dont make fun of people
RevRedMc I just have small hands and can't either.. Damn..
Well you know u don't need big hands for this I have small hands and I can still do it, just practice
Practice with the cards in the box first, to stretch your fingers and get them used to the grip.
Oh geat =D
I love these little flourishes/tricks, they are so fun to learn and look so epic.
Defintly looking forward to more of these (or any other video you make).
i have a test tomorrow the fuck am i doing here..

Are you stupid?
This production is killer amazing sick and not that hard at all
Am I the only girl on here trying to learn card tricks? ;-;
Not likely (I'm a dude)
nope u are not the only one :3
I never thought this was a straight male thing 0_0
eliza how nope, I'm here too! ^-^ Glad to see you and other girls pursuing magic btw, not enough female magicians out there
Evalexious straight and single

thank you this is super awsome
Awesome as always Asad, i liked the video before it even loaded.
thank you so much, you're the best! i'm trying to imitate the shawn farquhar 'shape of my heart' routine and you brought me one step closer. Thanks =)
Another top quality tutorial! Will be practising this one for sure!!
Awesome tutorial! I had the basic movements of this trick in about 5 minutes!(:
i make magic for living in subways and your tutorials help me a lot men, thanks a lot and id really like you upload more videos.

I love this tutorial. Hope I can learn it.
