He grabbed both my hands to help calm me whilst I spoke to him and I could tell he was welling up a bit at the realisation that people actually do love him so much.
Realising the job I wanted and studied for was not the job that makes me happy is such a learning curve. Animal care work is best for me just looking after my pets at home. Charity shop work is my happy place.

That's absolutely true. There's so much pressure to do things by a certain age, get settled, get married, have kids blah blah. Be happy! That should be what's prioritised
I quit my "creative" job of 12 years last year. Partly because of what the aftermath of covid has done to my industry and that it became not very creative at all. Now I'm in healthcare and it is so much more rewarding! Sometimes you just know things aren't working for you anymore and you need to make changes. One thing to note though is that i need to find a way to be creative around work and family life. Finding the time and motivation for it is hard even though i know in the end it helps with my mental health.
Boo, it takes a lot to ask people for help/advice and I know it's hard. I'm sorry you had to go through that though. You gotta be happy with life. I'm proud of you for trying to better your mental health. I understand the bit about wanting your child to have a childhood cause I'm in the same boat on that. You did the right thing and I'm so glad you feel happier. You definitely deserve it .

Though, you can hold your kid back a year now if they are going to start high school at 10. Though this is a newer thing and I don't know if it applies to England as well. (I'm from Scotland)

I watched the Pamela Anderson documentary and I felt so bad for her. I didn't watch the movie about her and Tommy Lee because she said she didn't endorse it. Emily, you have to do what feels right for your life especially if it involves your kid. Given that I am a Gen-X, I will agree that quite a lot of us were told to "suck it up" and I myself got tired of being told to ignore whatever emotional distress I was experiencing. I have seen so many of my peers my age and older, struggle emotionally and I can see from how they live that they are not doing well. There are people that want an easy fix and then there are those that search for the healthiest ways to manage their stress or emotional and psychological struggles. The generations before us had things so much easier when it came to living and working and there were also not as many people in the world back then too. Always push yourself but remember to stay aware of when you need a break and when you need to make changes. Love ya💚
Last august, I decided to not check my social media. Only one I check is RUclips. It’s been the best decision I’ve made. Social media can have a negative impact to an already frail mental health. It’s true, the old generations think we’re weak. My own mother has told me I live in the past and that I need a doctor to “cure” me so yeah. You’re my hero when it comes to handling my mental health cause I could be having a horrible day and then I watch your videos and the pain fades. Momentarily but it does and that means so much to me. It's funny isn't it, how the generational gap between actually considering mental health and "sucking it up and carrying on" is so black and white. I turned 40 a couple of months ago, so I'm an older millennial (Xennial if you wanna be technical) and I find even our generation is split down the middle between having been taught to "just suck it up" and also knowing that sucking it up is actually not the best idea in the world when it comes to mental health. Ignoring it won't make it go away, it just makes it a problem that stacks up. Sometimes you have to take a step back and look after yourself, and I think you absolutely did the right thing here. We work to live, we don't live to work.
I've been using the Got to be Powerful Volumizing Styling Powder for years! It's essentially the same as the stuff uv got. It's a powdered wax type stuff, and it's fab for adding volume & texture to my fine, lifeless hair lol!xx
I've been told over and over to go into tattooing cuz I love to draw but I do not like to touch people or be within those close proximities, I also just feel like art is for me, it's my decompression, I do not like doing commisions or teaching painting classes I love art but I don't want to sell it necessarily. Tattooing is a job. I just want to do things I like. I have a job that pays my bills knowing full time artist is not what I want.

I don’t feel like it not going anywhere is really an issue either, you tried it out and had fun I feel like there is too much pressure for everything to turn into a hustle. Just because you didn’t turn it into a job doesn’t mean it has no value, you tried it and had fun and to me that’s enough. Hell I had a short stint where I was making jewellery, it didn’t go anywhere and I wasn’t the best in the world but it was fun so who cares. This hair advice is appreciated, I’m growing out my buzz atm and I’m thinking I will grow it out into a Mohawk mullet. My hair is aggressively pin straight so texture advice is definitely needed 😭

I have PCOS and have the exact opposite issue I have so much hair I live in Australia and in the summer I have to get it thinned out and wear my hair in space buns just to keep my head cool and stop me from over heating 😂

I watched the Pam and Tommy thing too and really loved it and last week also watched Pamela's real documentary and then felt bad for watching it and sad for her. 😮💨. I never watched Baywatch but remember it being on. Like you said, she seems like such a genuine person that's really been shit on by so many people in her life and I'm really glad she has her sons at least. I really want to see The Whale too but it's only available to buy On Demand right now so I'll have to wait a bit until I can rent it. I've used that styling powder before but didn't like how it felt on my hair. I felt something that worked better for me and that was Amica dry shampoo texture paste which is great for thin, flat hair as really gives it volume and cleaned your roots too and you don't need anymore spray, gel etc. I'm so glad you're out of that toxic tattoo shop now. Those people definitely weren't your friends and you deserve better. Hugs 💚💚💚

Congratulations on your mental health journey and putting yourself first. While that may sound like an amazing idea I don’t think it would work because alcohol and piercing don’t mix well together. Plus idk if it would even get approved to be open since they would probably have an issue with the alcohol while there is also a piercing studio in it and they would also point out sanitary issues with it as well. But I think just a gaming bar would work better because we have those here in America.

It took me about year from starting to make any money with tattooing… people dont think about that they have to grow their experience and client base before they actually make money… its not like Oh im gonna start doing this now and with one month i need to make a decent money with it… nope it tales alot of work… only people who really want this will make it 😊
@@emilybooboo actually it really depends of the artist, my studio is in the middle of nowhere in mega tiny village with 50 people living there… and they dont really care where you work they come from all over the place from other side of the country and even from other countries. Its all about how you advertise yourself, if you have your social media page where you share cool stuff constantly then you dont have to rely on studio, people will come and when they have good time then next time they bring their friend and mom and so on and on. Its all about the experience .. you have following already and if you would advertise it right then you would save years of work to get there faster.

I have a question about tattooing. You said you couldn't draw in your one video but isn't tattooing drawing on people's body or is it a completely different art form? I always wanted to get into tattooing but was too shy about my art to do so. Plus I'm better at painting than drawing.

A lot of modern artists use digital art and stencils to tattoo. Have a skill for drawing is definitely a major pro but it isn't necessary like it used to be. Kinda sad really but with a lot of things, technology takes over.

I've been using the Got to be Powerful Volumizing Styling Powder for years! It's essentially the same as the stuff uv got. It's a powdered wax type stuff, and it's fab for adding volume & texture to my fine, lifeless hair lol!xx

I've been told over and over to go into tattooing cuz I love to draw but I do not like to touch people or be within those close proximities, I also just feel like art is for me, it's my decompression, I do not like doing commisions or teaching painting classes I love art but I don't want to sell it necessarily. Tattooing is a job. I just want to do things I like. I have a job that pays my bills knowing full time artist is not what I want.

Your hair looks great like that. The powder kind of reminds me of a volumizing powder that Schwarzkopf do / used to do but they aren't cruelty-free, I don't think. Maybe after your hair gets greasy you can put on some dry shampoo ha

You could still do the tattoo video, I would watch it and I’m sure other people would too. Even though it didn’t go anywhere it would be a shame to bin the footage when you spent time on it. I don’t feel like it not going anywhere is really an issue either, you tried it out and had fun I feel like there is too much pressure for everything to turn into a hustle. Just because you didn’t turn it into a job doesn’t mean it has no value, you tried it and had fun and to me that’s enough. Hell I had a short stint where I was making jewellery, it didn’t go anywhere and I wasn’t the best in the world but it was fun so who cares. This hair advice is appreciated, I’m growing out my buzz atm and I’m thinking I will grow it out into a Mohawk mullet. My hair is aggressively pin straight so texture advice is definitely needed 😭

I have PCOS and have the exact opposite issue I have so much hair I live in Australia and in the summer I have to get it thinned out and wear my hair in space buns just to keep my head cool and stop me from over heating 😂

I watched the Pam and Tommy thing too and really loved it and last week also watched Pamela's real documentary and then felt bad for watching it and sad for her. 😮💨. I never watched Baywatch but remember it being on. Like you said, she seems like such a genuine person that's really been shit on by so many people in her life and I'm really glad she has her sons at least.

I've used that styling powder before but didn't like how it felt on my hair. I felt something that worked better for me and that was Amica dry shampoo texture paste which is great for thin, flat hair as really gives it volume and cleaned your roots too and you don't need anymore spray, gel etc.

Congratulations on your mental health journey and putting yourself first. While that may sound like an amazing idea I don’t think it would work because alcohol and piercing don’t mix well together. Plus idk if it would even get approved to be open since they would probably have an issue with the alcohol while there is also a piercing studio in it and they would also point out sanitary issues with it as well. But I think just a gaming bar would work better because we have those here in America.

It took me about year from starting to make any money with tattooing… people dont think about that they have to grow their experience and client base before they actually make money… its not like Oh im gonna start doing this now and with one month i need to make a decent money with it… nope it tales alot of work… only people who really want this will make it 😊

@@emilybooboo actually it really depends of the artist, my studio is in the middle of nowhere in mega tiny village with 50 people living there… and they dont really care where you work they come from all over the place from other side of the country and even from other countries. Its all about how you advertise yourself, if you have your social media page where you share cool stuff constantly then you dont have to rely on studio, people will come and when they have good time then next time they bring their friend and mom and so on and on. Its all about the experience .. you have following already and if you would advertise it right then you would save years of work to get there faster.

I have a question about tattooing. You said you couldn't draw in your one video but isn't tattooing drawing on people's body or is it a completely different art form? I always wanted to get into tattooing but was too shy about my art to do so. Plus I'm better at painting than drawing.
@Chantelle Dukes so, if I have a painting portfolio but not a drawing portfolio that's okay? I just never knew this stuff. It's very interesting to learn this.
A lot of modern artists use digital art and stencils to tattoo. Have a skill for drawing is definitely a major pro but it isn't necessary like it used to be. Kinda sad really but with a lot of things, technology takes over.
