I personally would leave the piercing job. It's costing you money you're not making back, it's bringing you down and affecting your mental health. Stay at the bar job definitely, because it sounds like it's doing you the world of good actually, sounds like you're finally dealing with decent people 💚 look after yourself and shake off what drags you down x
1 you do not have to apologize for rambling or venting in your own video. we’re watching for you! you’re human and we all feel this so it’s nice to relate to. 2 you have piercing experience it hasn’t gone away so in the future if you wanna do it again then you can! it’s never never too late. but if the issue is you’re just not getting paid what you should and it’s draining do the job that makes you happy. life is absolutely too short to do a job that drains you. your goal in life should be happiness as well as surviving (so money). if you have enjoy your job and pay your bills you’re set. you can always go back into your career later. maybe there will be more and better opportunities. don’t fall for sunk cost fallacy
My tattooists wife is a piercer, she's also a dentists assistant. She works Mon-Fri at the dentist and Saturday's at the studio doing body piercing. Everyone knows that's when she'll be there. I'd say cut your hours at the studio, Make it clear that you are there at certain times and days and that you can ONLY be reached on those days. Don't read anything from clients except on those days
Straigheners and any direct heat DOES fade hair colour!! Such harsh heat coming into contact with the cuticle will draw the colour out. This can actually happens even more aggresively on freshly dyed/bleached hair where the porosity is increased... it's honestly just like washing your hair in too warm of water! So you aren't crazy, it's just science 😫 Either way, you look EPIC, your style is so powerful 💚
yes I have seen this on my own hair! I dye my hair from blonde to black. during a certain stage of growing out my bangs I heat styled them bc I hated how they sat naturally and my bangs faded way more quickly than the rest of my hair because of the heat, you could really see the blonde starting to peek through.
If taking a break from the piercing makes you feel that good, then I think that's all you need to know. You're qualified so you can always go back into it, but it's obviously not serving you right now. Happy 2023! This is the year we all get better!
Hey Emily! I've been in the same situation. I would stop the piercing job, personally. You seem so much happier with the bar job. Sure, it's something that you want to do for a career, but sometimes we need to step away from our "dream job" to figure out if we really WANT that "dream job". Much love Emily
instantly joined your patreon after watching this video, have been a subscriber for years but finally in a financial position where i can sub! you seem so much happier when talking about your bar job, i’d say put piercing on hold for now and focus on yourself and your family, you’ve got this boo!🖤 sending you lots of love x
Hey Boo, I think keeping just 2 jobs is fair. Yes piercing is a career but in the moment right now, you need to do whats best for you, your family, and your mental health 💜
I was a Piercer from 2014, went on Maternity leave mid 2021 and haven't gone back. You can always go back to it in the future but it sounds like having a break is what you need ❤
Hey Emily, Cosmetologist here! You're totally right, using hot tools will dull your vibrant hair color. I love your videos and I hope you and your family have a wonderful 2023 🫀🖤
As someone who overthinks and dwells on everything in the shower, listening to a podcast in the shower has helped immensely. Music still let's your mind wander. 🖤🖤🖤
Hey Emily, I've been depressed and stressed out too. I lost my left leg below the knee recently so my emotions are all over the place. I've been sober for a year off of H, an Army Veteran, and now an amputee. I was thinking about trying to do RUclips but honestly I don't know if anyone would watch it. U should take a break from the piercings studio for a while bcuz it doesn't seem to be making u happy. Your hair looks great!
Hey hey, I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling that way. RUclips (for me) has been a big help with my mental health as a whole. Yes, it unfortunately has it's bad points but being able to just talk and not be interrupted has helped me open up more and grow. It's worth a go :) I really hope it works out for you too x
Totally know where you're coming from. Watches my sister struggle for years with hairdressing. Some days she'd earn a fortune, others she'd be down after paying to get to work and for lunch. She's now working in care again and SO much happier. Maybe just take a few months away from the studio and see how you feel then. You've got to be happy or it's just not worth it.
I totally get how money is such a struggle at the moment. Would you be able to take an extended break from the piercing job? As in 3/6 months then reassess the situation and think about whether you miss doing it or if your mental health is doing better. There's nothing stopping you picking it up again - hopefully if there's some end in sight to the cost of living crisis! At this moment in time, I definitely think it makes more sense to stay in the more financially rewarding place and it's a bonus that the people are nice there.
Hi Emily i just wanna say as an australian who was born in the U.K. i really love watching you atm im a baby bat and i find some comfort in you! i love how u express yourself and dont apologise for rambling/venting we are all human and we love and support you!🖤
I'm glad you're at least taking some time off from the piercing job for a bit. There's so much difference in your mood by the end of the video. You deserve to be happy. 💚🖤
I reached the end of the video where you talk about how you quitted your piercing job and I'm so happy for you that you feel better now :) Other topic: I can understand very well that you've been feeling drained by gettin so many notifications and messages in your free time. It's like you've never finished work, there are more and more requests popping up, even if you were'nt at work. Must have been terribly stressing!
You look amazing Emily! 😍I am a 48 year old elder Goth, and to me you are really a huge inspiration, love everything about you! I also struggle with my mental health (also my physical health is really bad) and your channel really means a lot to me! I wish you a fantastic new year!!! Hugs from Jenny in Sweden💙💛😘🤗🥰
I used to be a tattoo apprentice - it was long hours and lots of work to do as well as the training side of stuff, as I'm sure you know. I loved it; it's always going to be a passion of mine, but I couldn't afford to keep at it and left for a sh!tty job with a wage. 8 years later, I finally have a paying job I actually enjoy, but reflectively, I absolutely think I made the right choice for me, even with the miserable jobs I've had. Financial security relieves so much stress and it's not like I lost the skills, so maybe I can revisit one day if I choose to; I think the same may apply to you. If I were in your shoes, I'd keep the bar job which you enjoy and which pays. Leaving the piercing for now doesn't mean it's forever. x
Put the piercing job on hold for a couple of years. Sort the bills with the bar job and once you are in a better financial situation, and Violet is older, you can start piercing again. Good luck whatever happens..!! 💜💚🖤
Dude, usually when I’m watching someone just having a sit down and talk video I get bored, but never with you and your videos! You’re so cool and just entertaining. I wish we could be friends 😫
Look at what your long term goals are , I understand what it’s like having people not respect your boundaries. I have people message me at all hours , cancel last min. I’ve been doing what I do now for 2 years ? And I can finally see things starting to grow. Going to take a while to get to where I can drop my part time job but will get there. But in regards to your situation go with your gut , maybe take a break or set strong policies and stick to them in regards to the piercing job. Xxxxx
Emily, if you rinse the temp dye out with vinegar( let sit for 5 mins) and then wash out as usual. The color will set and stay longer. Also heat does dull color
Give urself a break babes!! Ur allowed to not find the piercing studio working for u completely. Plus any1 talking about what u earn n trying to judge u in any way is not on! U might share a lot but doesn’t mean they have right to quiz u on stuff. When u split ur hair up can’t u stick some bacofoil on say the black bits while u bleach? (I did this a wee bit when my girl wanted multicoloured n seemed to work ok). Think hormones r evil! Pcos effects hormones? Im sure some vitamins n minerals could help. Try let things go , especially old stuff. Put a big red STOP sign in ur mind when u notice if u can. I needed this n helped a lot. Last thing to annoy u with is try to cut out calling urself names like calling urself stupid or ugly etc. It does a number on ur head. Cutting it out helped me not feel so overwhelmed. Before stopping this it was like ‘every1’ bombarding me with negativity. After I realised it was mainly me telling me bad sh*t that my brain was believing because it was me telling it!! Anyway hope it helps… Luv the Boo xx 💜💜🦇
Omg I also just rewatched Jonathan Creek! Thought I was such a weirdo but it's great comfort viewing 😊 my mental health also bombed over the holidays and a binge watch helps. Definitely quit the piercing. Being able to make a career of it isn't a bonus if it is making you unhappy. Stick with the bar work that you clearly enjoy
I always listen, Miss Boo. I can relate to so much of what you express in your rambles it's scary. A break from piercing was exactly what I was going to suggest, specially with the unpredictable pay. It's just not worth the stress and like you said, you can always go back to it when you're feeling better about everything.
You shouldn’t apologise for ‘rambling’ - we are here with you through the good and bad. I would personally quit the piercing job as it’s getting you down and you’re not seeing the desired profit. I was a makeup artist for like 6/7 years and ended up quitting even though I was so passionate about it because of similar reasons to you - lack of money, cost to keep going and ridiculous messages at all hours of the day with the ???? messages if I didn’t reply within like 5 seconds. It might be sucky as I know you enjoy piercing but in the long run it’ll be beneficial. Happy new year xxx
The bar job sounds amazing! The piercing job sounds like too much stress to bring you joy in your life, which since it was a dream job you’d want it to bring you joy.
Thankyou Emily for motivating me to sort my hair out! I’m not happy with it atm and I don’t feel like me 😕 I’m so glad you re not feeling as stressed and I think you made the right decision - sometimes it feels like you re spinning plates, or treading water and any minute your going to go under ( that’s how I get sometimes anyway) and you have to take a step back. Huge hugs and Thankyou again for all the fab vids! Take care 💜
I'm glad you are, for the moment, in a better place. Mental health issues suck, and seem to never get easier to deal with. Hopefully you have a good break. Happy New Year.
Ooh Emily it would be sad if you stopped piercing as you did a great job with mine! Also, I think now the studio has moved to a more populated area, I reckon you will get more in for piercings!! The shop is in a great place now! Xx
If I were u I’d definitely take a break from the piercing job beacuse the bar is actually benefiting you and it sounds somewhat enjoyable hope it helps and thanks for another great video !
I'm glad you had such a nice lovely Christmas with your family, even though you were working! It's so sweet you were able to be there to make a difference for someone too. So hype for all the bands! Also glad to hear that turning off the notifications has helped you not be overwhelmed and stressed. I always love your vlogs and I really enjoy piercing vlogs
Sorry I'm late to the party, I only really get to watch youtube on the weekends. Firstly, if you are taking a holiday from work it is so important to *actually* take the holiday. Put an auto-message on that will reply to people letting them know when you're back and if they feel they have a medical emergency to do with their piercing, they need to call NHS 111. People need to realise that you're not their piercing slave at their beck and call. Also, have you considered turning the piercing thing into pre-booked appointment only? That way you can just book people back to back on specific dates, so you won't be wasting time sat in the studio. I don't think theres a need to 100% give it up, but obv you need to do the jobs that willpay your bills. It's ace you've found a place thats actually good to you. Spoons is evil tbh. Massive love
Hi, Emily! I've been a pretty silent viewer for years, but I just wanted to comment and say I really appreciate your content and how real you are. 💚 Even if you may be going through a hard time, you manage to make me laugh still when I watch your videos lol. I'm hoping this year is great for you. Take care of yourself 👍🖤💚
As someone who has been working in the “modification industry” in Ireland as a tattoo apprentice/artist after a year of working six days a week in the shop from between eight and ten hours a day depending on the time of year and then one day a week working on my art to sell I can say that I would never choose any other path in life.. In total I work about 70hours a week and I earn pennies only from my art and I live across the world from my family with no support from them due to my lifestyle, I live with my partner in a tiny apartment in a very expensive city and in the beginning I wanted to quit so many times because it was so hard and I was broke for three years to the point where I couldn’t pay anything so I didn’t have electricity nor hot water nor food in the fridge for weeks at a time and then I realised that it’s the life I had chosen and the job made me happy even tho it is really draining and talking to other artists in my shop I realised that if you want to work in that kind of industry you have to dedicate your whole life to it and one day it will start paying off. It’s a really hard road especially because customers see you as a 24/7 drugstore always at their disposal piling on top of mental health but as I said for me it’s the only life I can see myself living… life is too short not to be your best self but sometimes it might not be the right time to follow your path so do take into consideration that a job in the modification industry can always wait for you because people will always be looking for modifications… hope you find a solution that makes your soul happy. Love your content ❤
Now that you have some good piercing experience and a portfolio of work, you could always step away and come back to it when you feel more secure financially! Take some time away from that job, focus on your bartending and RUclips, maybe start saving some pennies towards your own piercing business. I feel you so much on your dream job not being conducive to making money. I'm still dreaming of being a tattoo artist, but that'll have to be after graduate school and getting my "real" job to fund it 😝 Much love from the US and I hope you start feeling better soon!
Awww never apologize for "rambling" i come here specifically to listen to what you gotta say!! 💕💕 Balancing a lot of jobs is so SO stressful :( i hope you find a better solution that works for you!
Coming from my personal experience and that only, I got an apprenticeship tattooing roughly 2 years ago and struggled so much financially for a majority of it. But honestly, if I had to struggle like that everyday of my life, I would gladly do it because to have this opportunity to do what I love is so much more valuable to me. Of course your position is completely different than mine and I can’t speak for that but I know I wouldn’t let that stop me from experience. You know you best, trust yourself and manifest your future
Good luck with the job situation hun but just wanting to say that I personally would love to see a vlog of the whole piercing process! would be nice to have a better insight as to what goes on :) x
I needed this video. Absolutely love you Emily and how real you keep it, been a super fan for years. I can totally relate as I'm a single mum of 2 with a house to run and a massive dog! Been working 4 jobs up til and all over xmas and new year (also worked xmas day) and I was so exhausted and drained something had to give. I quit 2 of the 4 jobs and feel so much better already. Iv always done beauty therapy/nails and similar to piercing I feel like it's something u can dip back into at any time. Take it back up later if u want to or set up freelance or from home. There's plenty of options but stepping away for now is defo the best thing and has been for me also. Giving you all the love and hugs ,stay weird you little boobie 🖤💚
is it possible to take like, a partial step back from the piercing? do like, by appointment only, one day a week or once a month or something. that way you don't have to give up on it completely but it's less pressure. kind of like hair stylists who hate working at salons but love doing hair so they do independent work.
I would put the piercing career to one side, just for now, and focus on the work that doesn't stress you out, pays you, and makes you happy! You can always go back to it later! PS just got to the end of the video & I see this is the choice you made! Good thinking :) Plus your hair came out so beautifully 🖤💚🖤
@@emilybooboo love all your content! Just seeing your adorable self brightens up my day! I'm actually getting my cheeks pierced this weekend and I'm kinda nervous considering I've heard it's a longer process of healing etc. If I remember correctly you've had yours as well. Any tips for me??? ☺️
@@alymatos4363 Ahhhh, good luck with them! Make sure your piercer has been properly trained in doing them. It's recommended to use 2mm thickness bars and they'll be super long. They require a lot of up and down sizing but if they're pierced correctly, they should hopefully heal well x
@@emilybooboo thank you for the tips and being so interactive with us! You rock 🙌hope everything with the piercing job works out for you we know you were super excited about it🖤
There’s such a huge difference in how you talk about the piercing job and the bar job. Your face lights up talking about the bar and you look happy! But I can see the stress in your expressions when you talked about the piercing job. I’d say stay with the bar. You can always come back to piercing later when you’re in a better position. Either way take care and try to make time for YOU!! ❤
Imo either leave the piercing job for a while or see if it would be possible to do it at a closer/bigger studio where it's worth it for you to keep at it. It's not only a matter of what brings money, but also keeping your mental health and having time to rest. If you can pay your bills and credit debts just with YT and the bar and have more free time on top of it, 100% go for it!
I actually think straightening you're hair does dull the colour as your opening up the hair cuticle with high heat which leads to the colour deposit fading. BTW I'm no hairdresser, I remember reading it somewhere lol. I have the exact problem with Black hair dye, it turns brownish after a week! Pain in the ring! Best Wishes hun Xx
I've been going through the same thing lately. I'm supposed to graduate college at the end of the year, but between my job, college, and art projects I'm stressed out. I want to take a break from school but I also know I'm almost at the finish line. If I take time off, I can work on my passions and return later. It's so confusing and frustrating. You can rant as much as you want. We all need someone to listen sometimes. ❤
I've had a couple of weeks off so far and I can already feel my old self coming back. You need to do what's best for you,but for me, stepping away has been exactly what I needed. I hope you're able to find your path xx
Life's funny sometimes. If I had a job that I always wanted to do & loved it, but maybe wasn't overly happy with it at the minute, I might give myself a month/time that I'd say to myself "look, if I still feel overwhelmed and stressed by this date/time, I need to either work out a different type of schedule or leave." If I found myself not enjoying any job, I would try to leave & move on to the next thing as soon as possible. I've always thought happiness is one of the most important things at a job, but bills and putting food on the table are important too.
Hello Emily, thank you for sharing this with us. I haven't been subscribed for very long, but I like your personality and your look. It's people like you who inspire me to embrace who I really am and look and dress and believe in what I want. I'm going through so much right now and I am struggling to find a job. My mental health is out of control, but watching your videos is helping me. I'm literally not even able to eat everyday. I weigh just 95 pounds and am 18 years old. Lmao shouldn't be posting this on the internet, but I've got no one to talk to. But thank you for the content!
I just want you to know that recently I’ve had a few changes in my life which I found hard to deal with but your videos have actually helped me to try and change my perspective on things. You might seem like your being really negative but I actually think you’re a really positive person and that positivity has really benefited me. I hope you do what makes you happy Emily.😊
You're definitely doing the right thing leaving the piercing job. It seems to cause more stress than good right now and you can always go back as you said and go back anywhere. Maybe to a busier studio where your get more clients so more money. 😊 So you find Electric Lizard works/lasts better for you than Lunar Tides? You do look cute with the sides grown back and I can totally relate to the thin hair thing. My whole sides are shaved off and almost half the back too due to having my head tattooed and the top is really short so I've got a mega mullet right now. I can't stand hair on the sides of my face though so don't think I could deal. I can wear wigs on the side of my face but only because I can take them off. Do you ever put dry shampoo in? I use that on my roots to give mine more volume. The styling paste type. The spray tends to make my scalp itch. Happy New Year to you, Been and Emily 💚💚💚
I'm happy that you left the piercing/tattoo shop. You deserve to have time for yourself. Whether it's to spend time alone, with Violet or Ben. Take a day away from your socials once or twice a month or once a week if you feel that would help. Being a content creator is not easy, so remember to care for yourself.💚
I can't say too much about my experiences working for free for a career, but all I can say is that eventually those kinds of gigs can become extremely debasing. I didn't have much confidence to begin with, but I will second the comment about being able to pay off debt it's great to just live a life. I gave it up because it started to become horribly damaging. Sometimes what we think we want, is really just the idea of it and not actually what we're having.
Leave the job if it effects your mental health and it has no positive outcomes it’s not worth your time. We only live short lives and to stay at a place that is making you ill is not worth it Hopefully you feel better soon! Take care yourself Emily
leave the piercing job, your face goes so sad when you talk about it vs watching you talk about your new job at the bar. It was beautiful that you made a difference for people that were feeling lonely on Christmas, maybe your future lies in hospitality because you really care about people. Glad to see you happy and with a clearer mind set at the end. Have an amazing 2023!
Personally i would keep the bar job for now to pay off ur debt and save up for future endeavours(like perhaps a piercing place). You can always come back to piercing. Also could try setting firm expectations/boundaries like only doing piercings on a Saturday and only being available via messagener on Saturdays.
i'd leave the piercing job. i mean you could always....go back? like maybe not to that studio, but you could choose to apply for a job at another studio after some time. you're not on a time limit! and if that's the job that's both stressing you out the most and paying the least, it seems like a pretty clear-cut choice.
I would give up the peircing for now , you are trained so you can always go back to it one day . Your bar job sounds great , maybe you will get extra shifts when it is busy . It is such a releif to have financial security and helps your mental health enormously xx
Is there any way you can dial back your piercing gig to one day a week? Letting it go entirely would be sad, but it doesn't seem to be working for you right now... Heat actually can make the outside of each hair shaft less shiny/more dull, which doesn't affect the colour of the dye on the hair but could well affect the way the dye LOOKS on the hair, if that makes any sense. Think about how much brighter & "neon" looking green pvc is than green twill of the exact same shade. You might consider keeping the hair in the spots you like to shave between 1-2 cm long. Short hair underneath long hair does make the long hair poof out & look thicker!
I am ten minutes into this video. I tattoo, also self employed and MY GOD people and their question marks and yes I also got messages on Christmas Day. But those question marks make me rage! I’ll have to finish this video later but do whatever is best for your well-being, I know we still have to earn but if you can do that and are able to drop that stress then absolutely why not. All the best 💫
I feel you I work everyday barely have time for myself and have mental breakdowns but then realize oh it’s gonna be okay which I keep telling myself 🥲 I’d say keep the tattooing job as a hobby so you could tattoo and pierce yourself.
I would keep the bar job, its making you happy as well as benefiting you. You don't have to give up piercing forever, if you end up missing it you can always pick it back up ☺
I would take a break from the piercing, yes it’s a career but is it worth your mental health. Is there a pattern to piercing ie summer time more people want piercings, if so is it something you can do seasonally? As someone who left a really well paid job for mental health, I’ve never been happier, it’s not been a total fix but I have definitely noticed a difference. 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Ugh ok, pausing the video. Emily I wish I could give you advice on this. You’re probably much older than me so I feel like I couldn’t adequately give you advice anyways. But I’m glad you talked about this because I feel that I’m in a similar crossroads with my jobs and career too. But anyways, I would say maybe to take a break with the tattoo shop. You have learned the skill and been piercing for at least a year now. If you put this on pause, it doesn’t mean you have to stop piercing forever. The bar job is good because it makes money. Costs are rising everywhere. It makes more sense to keep the job that makes you more money. Also, you are lucky that you have an online platform already. You aren’t going to just become irrelevant if you step away from the studio like others without followings. So I think if you step away from piercing for the time and focus on paying back some of your debt, you may be able to recoup at a later time with your piercing career. I know you worked really hard to become a piercer, but you’ll always be a piercer if you know the skill and the trade.
I would LOVE to see the uncut version of the vertical labret piercing process!! I'm considering getting one myself, so it would be educational haha. When it comes to the job question, I'd say give the bar job a lil bit longer and see if you still like it, cause new jobs always have an excitement (at least for me haha). If you really WANT to be a professional piercer, I'd say give it some more time, but if your fav job/"dream" job is being a RUclipsr, than quit the piercing job so you can give yourself time for health and rest. Don't put your mental or physical health at risk for a job that doesn't give you the support you need. Proud of you, Boo
Thank you, Kayleigh x
I agree
I'm a persistent apologiser, I can't help it :P Thank you for your advice x
So you aren't crazy, it's just science 😫
Either way, you look EPIC, your style is so powerful 💚
Ty for this.
Thank you for proving my point :P
yes I have seen this on my own hair!
Thank you for your advice
Hey Emily!
I've been in the same situation. I would stop the piercing job, personally. You seem so much happier with the bar job. Sure, it's something that you want to do for a career, but sometimes we need to step away from our "dream job" to figure out if we really WANT that "dream job". Much love Emily
Thank you for your advice
Follow your heart Emily, always do what makes you happy, if you’re feeling overwhelmed it’s okay to take a break.
Thank you, Anna x
instantly joined your patreon after watching this video, have been a subscriber for years but finally in a financial position where i can sub! you seem so much happier when talking about your bar job, i’d say put piercing on hold for now and focus on yourself and your family, you’ve got this boo!🖤 sending you lots of love x
Hey Boo, I think keeping just 2 jobs is fair. Yes piercing is a career but in the moment right now, you need to do whats best for you, your family, and your mental health 💜
You're absolutely right
I was a Piercer from 2014, went on Maternity leave mid 2021 and haven't gone back. You can always go back to it in the future but it sounds like having a break is what you need ❤
This little break i'm currently having has been so good, i definitely needed it! x
@Emily Boo I don't think many people realise it's a bloody hard job!I'm glad the break's helping 😊
Hey Emily,
Cosmetologist here! You're totally right, using hot tools will dull your vibrant hair color.
I love your videos and I hope you and your family have a wonderful 2023
🫀🖤
Thank you for helping me win my argument :P
Hi Emily i just wanna say as an australian who was born in the U.K. i really love watching you atm im a baby bat and i find some comfort in you! i love how u express yourself and dont apologise for rambling/venting we are all human and we love and support you!🖤
Awhhh, thank you for being here x
I'm glad you're at least taking some time off from the piercing job for a bit. There's so much difference in your mood by the end of the video. You deserve to be happy. 💚🖤
Thank you for listening x
I reached the end of the video where you talk about how you quitted your piercing job and I'm so happy for you that you feel better now :) Other topic: I can understand very well that you've been feeling drained by gettin so many notifications and messages in your free time. It's like you've never finished work, there are more and more requests popping up, even if you were'nt at work. Must have been terribly stressing!
I'm feeling so much more relaxed this passed week - It's become very clear what I need to do now x
I'm so glad you enjoy what I do
yess heat makes yr hairdye fade!!!! i found it out cos my black dye was fading super fast so i stopped straightening it ! :)
Leaving the piercing for now doesn't mean it's forever. x
Thank you for your advice. It sucks but you're right, those skills stick x
@@emilybooboo You're most welcome, and absolutely! 🖤
Put the piercing job on hold for a couple of years.
Sort the bills with the bar job and once you are in a better financial situation, and Violet is older, you can start piercing again. Good luck whatever happens..!! 💜💚🖤
I honestly love you rambling. You sound like you have already picked which job to keep and let go. Debt sucks. Do what is making you happy!
Saying it out loud definitely made my decision easier x
Do what you want to do, what makes you happy,
Yes vlog your piercings! I always like seeing your appointments and the end result! 🙌
Shower cap chill and chat! I love it! 💜
You are stunning emily you are such a chill person hope you feel better mentally and physically love you so much you are beautiful inside and out
Watching while I have anxiety so I’m thankful for the upload
So glad I could be a comfort
Dude, usually when I’m watching someone just having a sit down and talk video I get bored, but never with you and your videos! You’re so cool and just entertaining. I wish we could be friends 😫
Look at what your long term goals are ,
I understand what it’s like having people not respect your boundaries.
Anyway hope it helps…
Luv the Boo xx 💜💜🦇
Omg I also just rewatched Jonathan Creek! Thought I was such a weirdo but it's great comfort viewing 😊 my mental health also bombed over the holidays and a binge watch helps. Definitely quit the piercing. Being able to make a career of it isn't a bonus if it is making you unhappy. Stick with the bar work that you clearly enjoy
Jonathan Creek is out there helping all of our mental health and he doesn't even know it :P Sending loads of love your way x
i started watching you around a month ago and i love your videos. your hair is awesome! you deserve breaks 🤍
Thank you so much for being here x
Take care 💜
If you rinse with cold water, it won’t bleed as much. I’ve had slit dye for two years, black and blond .
I know, i know but I like hot showers haha
I'm glad you are, for the moment, in a better place. Mental health issues suck, and seem to never get easier to deal with. Hopefully you have a good break. Happy New Year.
Happy new year to you too x
Ooh Emily it would be sad if you stopped piercing as you did a great job with mine!
Also, I think now the studio has moved to a more populated area, I reckon you will get more in for piercings!! The shop is in a great place now! Xx
If I were u I’d definitely take a break from the piercing job beacuse the bar is actually benefiting you and it sounds somewhat enjoyable hope it helps and thanks for another great video !
Thank you for your advice
If you cut the metal ish folded end off the hair dye tubes and blow then through the hole end that had the cap on all the dye comes out 😊🖤💚
Yes! Straightening and curling your dyed hair can make it fade quicker.
Omg you gave me a really good idea. I have a corner in my bedroom that I can use as a little "video spot"
Hoping for all the good times and upward growth in 2023 ✨
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that. Hope 2023 is an amazing one for you too x
im heavily considering a vertical labret and a proper showing of the procedure would be really helpful!! its always interesting regardless
I'll definitely film it :) Just didn't want you guys getting bored of the same ol' footage x
I'm real glad that you feel so much better for making the choice you did 🥰Yes please to the piercing vlog! I love them 💚
That means a lot
try the double vertical like you had previously to avoid that central area
I’m a hair stylist and yes, high heat will fade your hair color. Looks amazing btw!
Thanx for helping me win my argument :P Thank yoou!
Love your content ❤
silencing and being unactive on social media was the best thing i did for my mental health!
I didn't think it would make THAT much difference to my mental health but it really did!
Everyone needs someone to vent to, and I'm happy to listen. Feel better, Sis, we're rooting for you!
Thanx for being here x
I saw motionless and ink in November. Best show ever and I wept like a baby lmao
I'm still dreaming of being a tattoo artist, but that'll have to be after graduate school and getting my "real" job to fund it 😝
Much love from the US and I hope you start feeling better soon!
Awww never apologize for "rambling" i come here specifically to listen to what you gotta say!! 💕💕 Balancing a lot of jobs is so SO stressful :( i hope you find a better solution that works for you!
I can't help it, i'm a serial apologiser :P Thank you for being here and listening to the rambles x
Thank yooou, i'll vlog it for sure x
bar job makes emily happy i like bar job
Being an adult is hard!! I hope you're getting some very well earned rest time now. Thank you for your advice
I started watching Jonathan Creek this year. I'm on Series 4 now
I feel like you've answered your own question about your job. 🖤 happiness over everything for me. 🤷🏻♀️🖤
is it possible to take like, a partial step back from the piercing? do like, by appointment only, one day a week or once a month or something. that way you don't have to give up on it completely but it's less pressure. kind of like hair stylists who hate working at salons but love doing hair so they do independent work.
I'd love too but the studio wouldn't allow me too unfortunately :(
I hope you are ok , I go through phases of being fed up , I understand how you feel ❤❤❤
I'm doing a lot better now, thank you
I would put the piercing career to one side, just for now, and focus on the work that doesn't stress you out, pays you, and makes you happy! You can always go back to it later! PS just got to the end of the video & I see this is the choice you made! Good thinking :) Plus your hair came out so beautifully 🖤💚🖤
Thank you Robin x
Jonathan Creek is painfully underrated!!!!
Almost a hour long video from my fav human 🥰🖤it's a good day
Hope you enjoyed my ramblings :P
You rock 🙌hope everything with the piercing job works out for you we know you were super excited about it🖤
Keep the bar job!! A break from piercing will be ok!!
Hi Emily please upload the vlog. I love watching all your videos. They make me smile always. You’re a great friend 😊
Awhhh thank you
There’s such a huge difference in how you talk about the piercing job and the bar job. Your face lights up talking about the bar and you look happy! But I can see the stress in your expressions when you talked about the piercing job. I’d say stay with the bar. You can always come back to piercing later when you’re in a better position.
Either way take care and try to make time for YOU!! ❤
Thank you for your help x
I touched up my color watching this . I'm happy for you! I'm looking forward to moving in the spring and having my own place . ♡
Awesome, I love moving! Hope it all goes smoothly for you
Imo either leave the piercing job for a while or see if it would be possible to do it at a closer/bigger studio where it's worth it for you to keep at it. It's not only a matter of what brings money, but also keeping your mental health and having time to rest. If you can pay your bills and credit debts just with YT and the bar and have more free time on top of it, 100% go for it!
Thank you, Kay x
I actually think straightening you're hair does dull the colour as your opening up the hair cuticle with high heat which leads to the colour deposit fading. BTW I'm no hairdresser, I remember reading it somewhere lol. I have the exact problem with Black hair dye, it turns brownish after a week! Pain in the ring!
Best Wishes hun
Xx
I watched the rest of the vid and saw you did that! Yay! 🥳💚
@@emilybooboo I ended up taking the semester off and I feel like a weight has been lifted. That tells me I'm doing the right thing for myself.
I'm so glad I could help in some way
You know the answer sweetheart, relieve yourself from the stress and put the tattoo shop aside for now, don’t let it make you unwell ❤
Awhhh, I'm so glad I could help in some way. I really hope this year is an incredible one for you
Thanks for giving me something to listen to while doing boring house work. ✌️💚🖤
You're definitely doing the right thing leaving the piercing job. It seems to cause more stress than good right now and you can always go back as you said and go back anywhere. Maybe to a busier studio where your get more clients so more money. 😊
So you find Electric Lizard works/lasts better for you than Lunar Tides?
Thank you for reminding me to dye my hair mwahahahah.
We only live short lives and to stay at a place that is making you ill is not worth it
Hopefully you feel better soon!
Hope you start feeling better soon. Always take some time to yourself ❤️
We are all here to support you when you need us.
Thank you Becky x
I am ten minutes into this video. I tattoo, also self employed and MY GOD people and their question marks and yes I also got messages on Christmas Day. But those question marks make me rage! I’ll have to finish this video later but do whatever is best for your well-being, I know we still have to earn but if you can do that and are able to drop that stress then absolutely why not. All the best 💫
Full rage!!! Thanx for your help x
I'll definitely do that. Just didn't want you guys to get bored of the same ol' footage again :P Thank you for your advice
