Great comparison of the two mid-sized reptiles. There are Facebook communities for both BTS and Ackie monitors - and Reptile Mountain youtube has a great library of BTS care videos - so that's a great resource. I would rather support specialist breeders and not buy from commercial pet shops - especially when it's evident (by the cheap price) they have wild-caught animals. Many more wild-caught animals die than make it to the store shelf and that is a terrible thing.
@@Scales13I'd love to have an Ackie but have only a 4x4x2. There are a few smaller varanid species but even then I'm better off with a BTS or other skink. Someday...
