Red and yellow Ackies are amazing exotic pets! Not only are the highly intelligent but they can be easy to care for if given the proper setup, food and care! I wouldn't call them beginner reptiles by any means, but they are one of my all-time favorite reptiles.

Thank you for the good video. i'm a beginner in keeping akies. Where I live, inaccurate informations about Akies are rampant. My curiosity is about diet. Here(korea), some akie breeders make up their akie's diet with chicken gizzards, chicken breasts, duck tenders and etc. Yeah they are raw meats high in protein. But in the texts i looked up, Akies usually eat insects. Would a raw meat diet have a problem with Akie? I'd like to hear your opinion.
Raw meat is ok as a occasionally treat. But most of there diet should be live insects like mealworms, dubias, crickets or grasshoppers.
I'm sure they could live on raw meat but doesn't mean they are necessarily healthy

Iv actually only been nibbled by 1 older ackie and it wasn't really a bite. More just tasting around and didn't even break the skin.
Depending on the size of the baby they wouldn't be able to break skin until older, they have very small mouths compared to things like bearded dragons for example
What size enclosure is that ?
