Yup same here and all this work I am supposed to be doing right now I actually was supposed to have done it yesterday. I am being a slacker big time but its the first 2 days off I have had in a row in about 3 months so kind of taking advantage of this amount of time to screw off.
BTW people, this is NOT a fire hazard, as LED lights don't give off a substantial amount of heat.

+superholly you can actually get batter operated ones too, I got some here in the UK for £2.99 you can get them in blue, white, red, all sorts nd can set them to constantly on or flashing they are very bright too which I was surprised by, my friend made a cloud light using them and they cleverly made a type of lid for the bottom of the lantern out of some see through plastic from a pop/sofa bottle so the lights still shined through the bottom and covered that in fluff so it blended perfectly into the rest of the cloud plus this means you don't have the wires that plug into the wall socket
the batteries last ages too I had my set nearly 2 years lol same batteries
and I as well found the better trick of getting the glue out the glue gun faster the other day when I was making something, easier too when the stick is nearly used just shove it further in with another glue stick.
+superholly yes the LED itself is not a fire hazard but we are talking about cotton or other nylon stuffing which is very fir hazard especially when exposed or without any protective covering.
+Koto Nizna The cables of the LED doesn't receive any stress throughout its lifetime if you do not regularly manipulate it, and even so even the most stress exposed cables in my house (that get walked over and periodically moved around) did not expose their copper fibers in their entire lifetime.

it'd be cool to hook those up to a weather moderator, so if its stormy the LEDs flash on and off like lightning, rainy would be light blue and sunny would be white.

I did this for my Nephew to his first Birthday! But I did it a bit different.
I bought a very big Paperlamp and a few Medium and a bunch of Small Ones. I cut Holes in them and glued all of them together so i could glued the LED String in all of the Lamps.
The Cloud is big and beautiful :)

I just wanted to let you know I made this for my girlfriend this Christmas. She absolutely loves it. Not just her but my entire family, her friends, and her family liked it. So thank you for helping me make a unique gift!! I didn’t use hot glue, I used a spray adhesive and made a toupee looking formation with the clouds. Helps the cotton or what ever stick together. I grouped a few together to make a big one. Then I fished the lights through like you said. I just wish I could figure out that remote system. But thank you for such a great tutorial
