D23 Expo Disney Parks and Resorts booth exhibit tour

This is a tour of the Disney Parks and Resorts exhibit at the D23 Expo, held in Anaheim, Calif. Sept 10-13, 2009.
See Cars Land, Wall-E, Lucky the Dinosaur, Mystic Manor and more.
Please excuse the occasional back-and-forth motion of the camera. My original intention while shooting this was to cut short clips in with interviews. But with the business of the D23 Expo, I simply ran out of time and instead quickly edited this together, so what you're seeing is essentially raw footage spliced together.

Mystic Manor is a semi-mansion ride (more themed on a curse and artifacts) going in the Hong Kong Disneyland expansion.

Mystic Manor is not going to be the Haunted mansion of Hong Kong Disneyland. This appears to be it's own freestanding venture not to be confused with Disneyland's Haunted Mansion.

Mystic Manor reminds me alot of The WoodCutters Lodge in Eureka, Ca.

I went to the Expo and it was FANtastic! Getting to see John Travolta, Kelly Presley, Courtney Cox, Nicholas Cage, Johnny Depp, and others was just the icing on the cake! Seeing the future of Disney/Pixar and the Parks was exciting to say the least. If you have the chance to go next year...go! And if you're a D23 member, you get into the Expo 1 hour earlier, and some events filled up early and then were closed off! So it paid to be a member, plus some items sold were member only items!

Oh my god... how they opened the "portal" with the fairy-dust and sparkles.... I don't care if Disney is a monopolizing corporation, it's the wonderful little details and magic they bring to everything that makes me forever love them. May the heart and soul of Disneyland never cease to bring people joy.

The Only thing they must take seriously into consideration, is to Do something with the Mascots outfits. Some are not Presentable. And all characters in my opinion must wear mask. I don't like to watch other peoples faces pretending Disney characters.

Cars Land? Instead of spending billions on a new themed land, Disney should just buy Detroit and call that Cars Land. Maybe that would give people jobs and help boost the economy.

Great comment. I don't think it is as much monopolizing as that the competition can't keep up with the fresh new ideas and tecnologies that Disney Imagineering comes up with. And you are right, they have those little details that just make everything better.

The Magic Portal was such amazing icing on the cake for this exhibit. Such a fantastic presentation in there, it was like being an imagineer and seeing everyone else's work!

That Carsland mouth test looks GREAT! I cant tell exactly how they do it....is it an internal projector? And how much of the mouth area is projection and how much is chassis? Very cool :D
