Everyone who suggested Ibis paint x thanks ill try it out n.n I'm very used to medibang for its cloud feature and transferring to my pc but I might be better off trying a new program just for speed paints 😅
Personally I used to use ibis paint x but the quality is kinda sucky imo
Ibis paint is not good for speedpaints, the quality comes out really bad and the slowest setting you can get is still usually way to fast.
For the dangan redesign video idea, why not design a genre of characters? Like, the first kills or the characters that aren’t really anime. I’d personally love to see Ryoma as an anime boy, and I think you’d really do it well! Just a suggestion though.
Oh, yes, that one is very good, it let's you convert you speedpaints to 3 modes of views though, the time it exports at is pretty fast, so, I don't know about that, I suppose you will figure it out [ maybe try and record the screen when you rewatch your speedpaint at regular speed without exporting it yourself from the app in mp4 format ]. As for the food tutorial, I suggest studying static images and redraw fruit near objects, that's a good practice or study paintings who are static imagery, I don't know what else to recommend, cuz that's how I learned [ plus in grade school I drew a lot for my assignments which most often than not included food ], you can also breakdown the shapes and/or shadows, colors etc and identify what colors are present, either by color picking or making a big picture palette of the colors present in the food. Simplifying first then going realism deep after is also a very good tactic since you learn basic forms and colors. I hope this was somewhat insightful, if not for you, then, I hope, whoever read this got something out of it.

I remember thinking one night about Hanako’s character, and I ended up coming to the conclusion that instead of being clingy and not wanting her brother to have a girlfriend because he’ll stop paying attention to her, she could be protective in the younger sibling kind of way. I’m not sure how to put this other than a little chihuahua barking at threats, and even though they’re much smaller than their owner and the owner sees them as someone that they need to take care of, the chihuahua will bite the toes off of anyone threatening their caretaker.
Let’s say that Hanako somehow finds out that Yandere Chan had a crush on Senpai. She probably saw her stalking him, I dunno. As a result, Hanako starts doing her own deep dive into Yandere Chan in order to see if she’s a good match for senpai. It starts out as seeing if she’s a good student, if she does any extracurriculars that Senpai is also interested, etc. but she gradually starts to piece together that Yandere Chan is a dangerous person. Anything that the player did over the past nine weeks, she’ll find out about it. Even if you used completely non-violent methods, she’ll piece together that Yandere Chan was involved with all the rivals, meaning that she was stalking Senpai. By Friday, she’ll have enough evidence to go to the police, either for whatever murders you have committed, or if you haven’t murdered anyone, for stalking Senpai, but before then, she’ll ask Senpai to meet with her privately to warn him about Yandere Chan just in case the evidence she brings to the police isn’t enough to convict you. This will cause a game over, not only because Senpai will avoid you, but also because you’ll be arrested.
I think this would also work really well from a game design perspective,. Hanako is the week 9 rival, meaning she should be the second hardest in the game. If she’s doing research into you, she’ll probably know a lot about you and your tactics, and will probably be less likely to fall for anything you’ve done in the preceding 8 weeks. She may not be able to defend herself well, but if you’ve electrocuted your past 8 rivals, she’ll probably avoid anything that could electrocute her. It also offers up a huge opportunity for the befriend-betray method, since if you help her out in some way, she will deem you worthy of becoming her brother’s girlfriend. But again, that method might not be open if you’ve done it too many times. I’m not sure how matchmaking would fit in, so let me know if you have any suggestions for that.
My biggest worry is that the sort of detective role that I’m imagining her taking on will be too much of a departure from her cute persona. Although I’m hoping that it will be a case where there’s less of an analytical persona and more like an ever growing terror. She’s probably also the type to not tell other people when someone has a crush on them, which is why she doesn’t tell Senpai about any of the suspicious things she notices until Friday, when she finds something truly incriminating

I really enjoy seeing positive Representation for marginalized groups even if it's just in fan works. It's resetting the narrative about them I think.

Edit: kizana being reinvented as clover is hilarious. Also, I feel like if you can make Hanako not creepy I'm sure you can fix the teacher and nurse too. I've seen many people rethink the way they fit into the story and their new roles.
They have already done the nurse and they don’t feel comfortable doing the teacher.

I dont get this whole need to reinvent the lore of the game in order to make it more morally correct, like with the teacher and the nurse. Certain things are SUPPOSED to be creepy and uncomfortable. This is literally a game about a mentally ill girl murdering her classmates in school. Like, what are you doing playing it in the first place?

2. Enhances the characters around her and their motivations. Especially Ayano! Does she kill the sister because anyone who's close to senpai = a potential threat orrr does she help the sister because, on some level, she reminds her of herself? Maybe she doesn't necessarily help her but gets rid of her in a non-lethal way because she knows that Senpai would get depressed if his sister was gone. There's a looot to think about there, imo!

So crack fan canon for me Kizana and Kokona are half sisters. Their mom was in a unhappy marriage with Kizana dad. The straw that broke the camels back was she found out her husband was cheating on her around the time Kizana was just born. So she decided to have an affair as well but fell in love with Kokona's dad she then divorced her husband and left Kizana behind. Living a much happier life Kokona and her new husband until her death. Kizana dad being bitter about the divorce made it extra hard for Kokona's dad with blacklisting him and making banks refuse him explaining why he goes to loan sharks. With Kokona seeing her dad struggling she decides to do compensate dating. Kizana is either unaware or bitter to kokona not sure. Hope you like this theory

You could redesign the "Rainbow groups" of the game (the ones that used to talk in the fountain but got removed for some reason), they could have a LOT of potential in the game :')
It would also be really cool to draw some of the YanSim characters with different disabilities & conditions (example : Yui Rio could be a wheelchair user)

I’d have to say that Amai is definitely my favorite because I always tend to just love baker or pastel themed characters and I absolutely love that you gave her some plus/chub, that was always something that struck me as somewhat odd because of the lack of different body types and I love seeing diversity. Also! A small potential request if able, not really a request but more of a possible suggestion if you’re up for it, what about possibly redesigning that teacher rival? I figure maybe she could be like a type of motherly figure instead of a creepy predator but that’s just my take and it’d be awesome to see yours! chubby amai is one of my favorite headcanons! i also headcanon she bakes as a way of coping with things. :)
First of all: I absolutely LOVE the designs and the idea of rewriting Hanako to not be so creepy! I love Amai since she has always been my favourite and it made me so happy to see you reinventing Clover again in Kizana’s design (idk if that’s how you spell it.)
I use IbisPaint X to draw because it has its own screen recorder as you draw. (So no need to check.) and you can edit the way it screen records by clicking the I on top of your canvas (the outside of the canvas before u start editing it) and selecting the screen record style you want. You can also change the speed by clicking the triangle button outside the canvas of your art and clicking the left or right button to change the frequency. I know you use many specific brushes on Medibang paint and I think a few can be replicated on IbisPaint (though many brushes need ads to access.) You can also paste QR code’s for unique brushes (though they also have ads after the first few uses.) Ibspaint is really good and useful in my opinion and I would totally recommend it (if you don’t use it already.)
Love your art style so much! Every drawing you do looks like it stepped out of the pages of a really great shoujo manga. The designs are always really cute and distinctive and I love the way you reinvent characters to be more interesting. I especially adore your Amai design - she looks like she gives the most amazing hugs!

I was really clingy to my older brother, because I really idolized him and I didn't have a lot of friends. I think Hanako could be like that. Maybe even copying things he does and wanting to take all the same classes, hang out with him and his friends and be around him 24/7. Maybe an elimination method could be getting her some friends and hobbies of her own.

I 100% agree with your little sister Idea. I always found it weird how she's portrayed as a rival. YS was my first experience with that sister complex thing and I didn't understand that it's just glorified incest. I do like your interpretation of her backstory too. I personally had a hc that maybe Senpai (Forgot his name lol) got hurt by a girl he liked before so she's protective of him in the sense that it was the first time he was emotionally vulnerable like that in front of her. Maybe she's not clingy at all at home and she's pretty chill, but she puts on the act at school to be "menacing" but like in a friendly kinda way. Idk I felt like there was so much YS could've done to make her more interesting or less gross.
yess the story you made up for the sister is so good. like i really don't think that if you kill senpais sister, he's just going to happily date you in the end. I think if she was able to make you closer to senpai and through the other rivals you'd get bonus points to get closer, it would be a lot better. besides she seems like a sweet character and i dont see a reason to kill her:(

I love how amai turned out, though you mentioned looking for food tutorials. There is a good one called "An Intro to Food Drawing | Clip Studio Paint
" by Mari Mana. Although it is for Clip studio paint there are still some tips that can be used in medibang like the pudding shading part. Hope this helps if you see it.

Oh god, I love your Yandere Sim redesigns, even though I have my own opinions more overall positive about the Yan Sim designs. You prob have a list of characters you’re already going through, but I would love to see Yandere Kun. (Yan Dev describes him as a more sadistic Senpai, which will be completely avoided by you just by how you made Yan Chan.)
I understand your entire opinion of the whole look of Hanako being boring. She is supposed to be related to Senpai, so she adopts his traits, which are very boring and not what should happen when the rivals are the main center personality where Senpai can’t pick up the slack. You gave her a much needed glow up. The heart pin is especially gorgeous.
Thick Amai looks good and love the cake designs....now I want cake. I’m not a professional artist, but what I usually do when drawing thicker individuals is make their face rounder. Give them sort of chubbier cheeks to emphasize the thickness, where yours looks good, though not as thick as I would. Then again, my style isn’t anime inspired, so maybe I’m just out of the loop on thicker anime designs. Still, that’s my take for what you asked. Rounder features can also denote friendlier or youthful looks, though you don’t seem to have that problem in my opinion.
For shame in doing something you clearly enjoy! I will get my tin foil hat to deflect your attempts at brainwashing me into loving your oc!!! I also am gonna be going back and forth with comparing Clover 5.0 with the redesign of Kokona, since they are basically the same design originally and seeing how they look with your redesign will be an interesting interaction to imagine.
Overall, love Hanako’s new look, love Amai’s look, and shall instinctively rebel against Clover supremacy!

Okay but I’ve never seen anyone explain the ‘redrawing my OC’ syndrome so accurately. 💀 I have this OC called Sofie - very soft, light colours, wavy bob kinda haircut and light green eyes - and *any* other OC or persona I start to create makes me stop in my tracks and think: “Wait, this is just Sofie but in a different colour”. She started out as a secondary character in my story, but now she lives in my mind rent-free like the main character she was always meant to be. Ladies and gentlemen, the pain of having a favourite OC. 🤩
Amai and Kizana are my two favourite rivalsi and you did them flawlessly! Hanako's pretty cute too!

Dude, this is my favorite video! You made two of my favorite characters better! Chubby Amai is my favorite cause it just makes her seem friendly and a adorable big sister kind of student. I agree with making Hanako the way you did, in design and in backstory. I personally like a caring sibling dynamic in games (not the sexual kind though >_>") My headcanon is that Hanako is just a worrywart sister who knows how popular/kind her brother/sister is so she tries to hang around to make sure that no one manipulates them. Which is why I believe she would totally tell on Ayano and be more willing to call the police on her to protect her sibling.
Edit: I would suggest Clip Studio Paint as a new program and it's a one time payment for Pro/Ex. There's even a feature where it can record your art and do a timelapse for you. (And there's plenty of tutorials, I would suggest watching Whyt Manga if you need to learn how to use it pretty well. He's also good for animation.)

I am LIVING for the redesigns!! I'm gonna get all dramtic and split this into paragraphs about each redesign.
I have to agree, I don't like Hanako's role nor her design (i mean i even had to look up the yandere simulator rivals because i couldn't be bothered to remember her name oops-) but I feel like the fact that you connected her to your own experiences made her MUCH better and I really like her now. She looks a lot less plain compared to her original (i mean those pigtails were not great, not gonna lie) and the little sister role that was given originally was bad and about as awkward as the Nurse or the Teacher (oh god the teacher. i hate her.) But now she actually has a legit reason to be so attached to Senpai? Absolutely.
Amai! I gotta agree with you here too, Amai is probably my favorite of the Rivals. She just seems so sweet. I love how soft and plushy she looks and she's just really nice looking. You did great on the cakes by the way! I will admit that the Strawberry cake's bread looks very detailed compared to the rest of the design which is slightly off, but hey, details are fun.
And Kizana. Though she's my 2nd favorite rival (gotta love the drama) I do agree that the hairstyle was a bit off. I love how well you're combining the school uniform with each character's unique flair. It's so cute, and I adore it.

I agree on Kizana there, I mean Kokona'a back story was flawless and well written. I feel bad that most of the fandom remembers her as: that one girl with a huge chest. I felt really disappointed when YD cut her off from the storyline.

Always thought the white spots were left there mostly just because you thought you didn't need to cover it- It's funny because when I noticed it I thought "their drawings end up looking so good with and without those white spots, I wish I could have that ability"
YES, you made Kizana have darker skin! I always felt like her original design was plain and needed something that could make it pop, so I always thought she would look genuinely better with darker skin because purple and darkskin really pop imo.
