- I finally got around to redesigning and re-writing senpai! Thank you so much for the amazing fan art and support!
I am aware that there is currently a design contest for YanSim and no, I personally will not be participating in it.

Guys, why don't you realize. It is impossible for Taro to be the son of journalist bc of a coincidence. In tapes it says that journalist had ONLY ONE DAUGHTER, HIS ONLY KID. If he meant Hanako Yamada, Senpai's sister, then think about it:
1. First of all he would mention he has a son too. He only said "my wife died giving birth to our ONLY child". And later he mentions that it is a girl
2. Second of all Hanako wouldn't be covered in someone's blood. Even her's.
3. Hanako doesn't spend all of her time on copmuter, plus she doesn't look like someone who would have a lot of money.
Senpai can't be Yandere Dev's self-insert, he's friendly and respectful.

Tbh maybe he works out for the sake of his depression, ya know endorphins and stuff. Martial arts is probably something he started doing after the failed suicide attempt to counter his tendencies. The principles and philosophy keep him grounded, making coping easier and the actual fighting fortifies his physique. To him it's just another day but to everyone else it's just like "DAYUM" when he walks in the room. He's still his sweet and awkward self but he's dreadfully oblivious to his attractiveness.

Instead of “high school murder simulator” it could be a brilliant game about mental health, and a cautionary tale of giving into your weaknesses and struggles. Seeing if you become a monster who loses everything you set out to gain, or manage to overcome the hand you were dealt and start on the road to better yourself.
I would so play a game like this if someone decides to run with this concept.

I have to be honest, the idea of every rival teaching something to Himari, and the sister teaching her about family, and Taro, and the best ending... it just makes me cry man, i love that the player has the chance of making Himari a better person trying to change for the better thanks to her friends. Just makes me happy.
Yes. It would be hard but I would gladly struggle to get that ending. Even if the urge to murder is there. I'd still want her and everybody to be alive and be happy.

About your character and the story: it was talked about mental health, and how the story of not having feelings and things like that in the original character was changed, so I would like to know if Himari is going to have any friends or friends of truth. In the game, the protagonist feels nothing and cannot make friends, so she just uses other people as tools, but Himari is different, and besides, in terms of health, it shouldn't be easy to deal with the situation, so it would be good for Himari to have real friends and maybe have the feeling of having a family again, different from what happened before, not counting the new personality. For example, in the game there is a character called Kokona who served as a test rival, and she had a very complicated life and the player had the option to help her, but not because she cared, but as Himari is different, she could feel at least a little empathy, even because, she has been in trouble even if it was not the same situation; Kokona is no longer a rival, but her story continues in the game and the player can choose to help her with her problems...

I was thinking that if the player really wanted to be terrible, since senpai would be stronger than yan-chan in this version physical threats to keep him around wouldn't work, but maybe the player could threaten his sister's life to keep him tied to yan-chan. I dunno I just thought it was a neat idea.

this is kinda random , but since i was dying at Kubz Scouts version of the ending , if you and the other rivals end up failing , Budo will just be the one to confess to Senpai .
edit : and due to Budo being really close to Taro anyway , he has a higher chance than nearly anyone .

I really like how in this version Senpai actually has friends outside of Osana, and how they’re obstacles in their own right. This could also be a good way to make the player figure out how to solve problems without violence, because even if the player did end up killing Senpai’s friends to get them out of the way, it definitely wouldn’t help Senpai’s mental state. This is kind of an actual feature in the game (though not really since it isn’t much of a game so far) but the endings could also depend on Senpai’s mental health when you confess to him, with the “true good ending” being where he didn’t have to go through trauma due to your actions.
So if budo is his best friend... Would that make him... A.... Buddy?

In the original game (yandere SIM), taro looks like someone who is centinental (he says that the book he's reading on the fountain came from he's sister) soooooooo I think it would be great if senpai's design has a vintage aesthetic on him! Like he is the of person who would wear old things because he personally likes them compared to new ones since "the special people who gave those things is what important." Also he mentioned to osana that he likes classical music, senpai really fit on that aesthetic. (and since we mentioned classical music, dark academia would be great for him)
So maybe vintage plus dark academia aesthetic would be great on him

Thank you for making Senpai into something other than a wet piece of tissue, I know it probably wasn't too hard since he's already extremely bland but you did a good job and beefy Senpai is a very nice change.
Maybe Yan-Chan knows about Osana's crush on Taro when she visits him in the ward. Since she is his childhood best friend and everything, her always visit him on... Fridays, maybe? Then, Himari stalks her and see her talking in the phone with Raibaru and saying that she plans to confess to Taro when he came back to the school. In that conversasion, Osana talks about the cherry tree myth, and we know about the "dead line". Maybe this could explain why we have just one week to ruin they relationship or etc.

Yandere Simulator have been cursed of doom in the development of similar games, maybe a manga or webcomic like is ok.
@@Alecanore I would agree normally but at this point it’s not even Yandere simulator anymore, hell, this story she has planned out is barely making Yan-Chan a Yandere, not that that’s a bad thing. But if it were to be made into anything it should be a game because the player decides if Himari makes good or bad choices and what ending she gets.
A game is too ambitious, I'm not saying it's impossible but I think it's honestly better to start off with a web series instead.

Mida- critical thinking (i guess)
Osoro- dominance (like how she leads the deliquents)
Hanako- family (as you mentioned)
Megami- leadership

@GalaxyTail i think we should age down the teachers by making mida into a tutor (senpai's grades start dropping because of home issues, mida tutors him and they grow closer) and nurse lady (whose name i forgot) could just be really considerate and always have first aid with her (she's just really nice and people are naturally attracted to her)
Maybe Mida can be mortality like unless she and Muja are getting aged down (we could move past Muja since it's said that Senpai will come onto her and not the only way around, so maybe it'll be a misunderstood not romantic but really platonic and befriending her will Himari/Yan chan understand that) then it'll be a depends on your choices/methods kind of thing.
If you murdered or used lethal eliminations: you're just doing this for Senpai nobody else
If you befriended, match made, or used non lethal method: you are doing this for all the poor victims she's mentally hurt and/or traumatized, the fact she's targeting Senpai is the straw that broke the camels back.
Befriend/Betrayal: maybe we get a tutor things going on at night and since most players play as a girl, it's normal. But the catch is that their a boy stayed back to be tutored in school too.
We can either:
Befriend: insist to be tutored first and psychologically talk about something that could make her be guilty (like how innocent we all are, how wrong double standards are, etc.), after we're finished we go home and hope for the best with boy. Come the next day, we learn how not only nothing happened to the boy, but Mida has been arrested and because she turned herself in. We get a letter from her, thanking us for getting her to stop and teasing us about Senpai.
Betray: if we let the boy go first, but we record the happenings which show that it clearly wasn't consensual. Cutscene of us texting this to the police and Mida is forced into prison or simply fired.
I think if Osoro taught Himari about duality or growth, it’d be really interesting. We have no idea how she got that scar or how she became the leader of the delinquents, but we can assume she’s had a hard life. Over the course of the story, we could see/ hear about the various choices she makes, some of which Himari could effect. Her week could be about her trying to become a better person, while simultaneously struggling with her demons. Depending on how Yan Chan and Senpai interact with her, they would accept their growth or realize that there is always good and bad in people.

This is really good, but can we change Taro's name into something else (and while we're at it, Hanako too)? Taro Yamada is an incredibly generic name and since Senpai is no longer some generic love interest with no personality, I think he should get a name that suits him more.
How about Zenkichi Yamada. It would make sense considering the most common of the name means complete and it could be used to show that he makes Yanchan whole and it could be used on an ironic level since his family is broken.

I've watched this like 3 times now because of how detailed it is. Every time the video ends, the world with the headcanons of the characters you created just disappears and I have this wave of emptiness hit me. In the game the basics sisters discuss the principle being really lenient about rules so you shouldn't have to worry about characters having body alterations that wouldn't normally be allowed

I love this redesign, but I wish you gave his a different name. "Taro Yamada" is a placeholder name for Japan, similar to the United States' "John Smith." If he were to have a different name, I'd give him the name, "Kazumi Asakawa," as Kazumi is more of a unisex name and Asakawa just sounds great and somewhat pretty. Specifically, the kanji writing would be, "朝河 和海." Remember, in Japanese, the writing for names is surname first, given name last.

Im in the same boat. Soft, feminine forms are a lot more easier to draw then sharp, defined, masculine forms for me most of the times. Plus, drawing curves is fun.

Suggestion-
The Problem of taro is that there are more "simp worthy" characters than him. And since he's the main goal of the game he should be really special, we can't just re design him because he's something, it's not enough . There should be more on him:
-remember Mabel from gravity falls, I don't know if you notice it guys but she has a special character design because she has different styles and color of turtle neck that she wears in each episode, it's the same but different at the same time. NOW, we can do that also to senpai maybe he wears eyeglass, accessories, watch or scarfs sometimes . Or occasionally he has different hair style like high cut because it's so hot, wears bennie hat since it's so cold. (or even wear or use things that the rivals give to him)
Senpai stands out because he does not have a direct final look compared to other male characters!!!!
Woah, calimara, you made senpai extremely attractive and actually gave him personality, I actually find him appealing, especially compared to the original senpai, I really like your take on yandere sim.
I'm loving bad boy Taro, as I am someone who has a crippling bad boy (regardless of gender) addiction! Also, don't worry. Anatomy in general, but especially male anatomy is a real struggle, and I understand.
Why did 'Incest Osana' make me laugh so much-
Currently in the game, the school is known for being accepting and pretty loose with school dress codes, allowing more out there clubs like the the Occult Club. This goes as well with accepting students to express themselves through different hair colors, piercings, etc.
I really like this redesign and rewrite. Taro is now more similar to Yan-chan and we cans see how a relationship between the two would actually work, rather than it just being the stereotypical "I'll make you love me" yandere trope. The backstory gives more personality, reasons for why his sister would be a 'rival' other than her being clingy, and adds more obstacles/potential help. He feels a lot more real, and his and Himari's personalities compliment each other.
I think there could be so many different aspects to the game to take different story routes. The one you described where Himari befriends the rivals, clears up misunderstandings, and becomes a better person. Maybe she even ends up telling Taro the whole truth, and if you have a good enough friendship and intimacy built up he'll accept her.
Then you have the option of a murderous route, where you become a true yandere and trick Taro into loving you.
Picking Taeko instead of Taro as senpai would have it's own challenges and storyline, seeing as strong and stand-their-ground girls aren't as well-liked in Japanese culture. Same-sex couples also still face a lot of stigma in Japan. If choosing the gender of the yandere is also an option, the game takes that into account as well.
There could also be the option of choosing a more 'innocent' storyline concerning the rivals (what you describe), or going for a darker one. The darker one would put twists on each rival's relationship with Taro and/or Himari/Ayano. Such as: The sub and nurse take on more predatory roles, attempting to take advantage of a troubled young man. Osana being a gaslighter. Hanako blaming her brother for everything that's happened to them. Amai being codependent to the point of threatening to kill herself. Kizana consistently making up rumors about what she and Taro have done. Oka attempting to use love spells and dark magic on Taro. Asu encouraging eating disorders. Osoro pressuring Taro into joining a gang. Megami being extremely controlling and manipulative.
In the darker version you can still choose to get rid of the rivals in non-violent ways, but the option to befriend is gone, and the player will be increasingly pressured to murder the rivals the longer they are in the way. You can also recruit Budo and the martial arts club towards the end of the game if you have a high enough friendship with all of them, so taking out the last few rivals will be easier, and members you have the highest friendship with will be willing to take the blame if the group is caught.
I went way too into detail about this, but honestly this would be a cool game.
Also: The dark route rivals can apply to either or both Taro and Himari/Ayano if I didn't specify Taro.

I really like the concept of Yan-chan learning a valuable lesson from each rival. Maybe this could happen when the MC chooses to befriend them instead of just killing the rivals. The idea works because of your back story for Yan-chan, and learning these lessons will slowly rebuild her mental stability that could make her have a healthy relationship, not just with Senpai, but with other people as well.

I think it should be the mum that's abusive, this could make haniko look out to ayano later on and they could become friends so that ayano becomes a "mother figure" to haniko
The ideas you're suggesting for this story are soooo reminiscent of Undertale, with the violent route being one out of like a billion, while the rest are mostly neutral. It sounds way better than the current concept, although it would sort of lose that Yandere element if the happy ending for the character involved not killing anyone.
I love how I never felt anything for regular senpai besides annoyance, yet just by watching your video and you describing this version of him I'm immediately attached sdfsdfdsf

You are a genius. I love redesign videos, the remade characters and the story arch. It feels real, kinda. But it seems like a great remake of something that wasn’t originally good in the first place. You seem more realistic with the characters and the backstories of them. Yandere Chan feels like someone who could be real based off of her relationship with her parents and her psychosis. Mix that with real world issues and mental illness and you have a realistic murderer(ess).
When you say that people don’t want to be served and want to like a character is something that is the truth. For the original yandere Sim characters, they aren’t original or really likable. They have no real story that people can get behind or one that is organic. In anime, characters have some form of likability that people are more drawn to. For example, Bakugo. He is mean, narcissistic and very direct in a manner that is crude and disruptive. But that’s because he wants to be a strong headed hero and his family life. He’s a real character in the sense that he is relatable and has an actual personality outside of that ego. Your characters look a certain way that makes them stand out in that similar way. After your explanation, it sounds like he’s a real person with a real personality.
Unlike yandere sim,Yandere Chan and taro in your story have a life and don’t fall into the misogynistic loop that yanderedev puts them in. In a way, they both need each other and balance each other out.
Also about the idea that the rivals could teach Himari something is a great idea. It really is and should be stuck to. The rivals in the actual game do nothing but seem more like a “ one done one to go” scenario. To be whole by Himari’s own means really could make that characters and the game more profound. She would feel like an actual human being and love herself more as a person instead of relying on another for love and humanity.
I can’t stand yandere simulator’s story and the characters backgrounds seeing as how they don’t really have one. Yanderedev is basically making his dream life in the game and not finishing it.
If the game was made by you, I would sure as hell play it.

god i really wish you could create this story fully in some form. it sounds like a really beautiful portrayal of mental illness recovery and coping, showing that no matter your illness or struggles you can find love, whether platonic, familial, romantic etc.
Yandere Rehabilitation Route would be something I'd definitely be interested in since I'm not really in the Fandom or into yanderes that much
I really like the idea that later on in the game depending on how strong your relationship is with senpai, he introduced us to his little sister. I think that would be a cute interaction!! Maybe Himari would spend some time with senpai’s sister and would try to care for her as well

I think the only thing I would have changed about your backstory of Taro, I would have made him a kind and sweet person (whether it was secretive or obvious). Maybe the psych ward (and our protagonist) inspired him to be nicer?? That would also be interesting because that’s another reason for our protagonist to love him even more!

i will admit, the one thing yandev did right was add the "loose dress code" to the lore, even though yandev hasnt utilized it yet, it allows for differentiating designs. i dont know why people complained about it being unrealistic, he added a reason and it was needed in order for compelling designs. you used that piece of the lore perfectly!
At first I was hesitant about the bad boy idea because Senpai's whole thing is like he's a kind and gentle person and blah blah blah. But the more you talked about the concept the more I absolutely fell in love with it! It fits so well in the story and just makes it way more interesting. I love the way he turned out, I will never look at yandere simulator the same because now it will just seem so bad compared to your ideas for it.
We really need you to create a manga of a revamped Yandere simulator please

wowww you made senpai actually likeable and attractive to me 😆 he's more than just the objective of the game this way... and i really like that concept you mentioned of each rival being able to teach yan-chan something new and important for her to live wholly. plus senpai finally got a guy friendship group of his own (and also a new mechanic to incentivize the social sim gameplay) instead of just being a sad antisocial who only gets girl "friends" heh.
I really like a lot of the ideas in this video! senpai being protective of his little sister and showing how killing her might affect him and make him feel like a failure because he couldn’t protect her ,encouraging the player on trying not to use violence ! and also I like the idea of senpai having other male friends who will approve or disapprove of you depending on your reputation (like you said in the video). however there are some things I would like to give my ideas about :
1.the whole idea of senpai being a bad boy is kinda bizarre to me because like the delinquents he will come of as unapproachable and feared even if he wasn’t a delinquent therefore I don’t see why the other rivals would really love him, like I don’t see why osana would like him if he ghosted her , and I don’t think oka would really like him since he is unapproachable and kinda feared and she is awkward and scared, you get the point. and he is also really different from the original game he is really unrecognisable which isn’t that much of a problem considering in the original game he had a personality of a blank paper but I feel like it would have been better if you made him instead of a bad boy someone who is more approachable and charismatic and instead of being into martial arts I would keep him into books and literature,old music and perhaps he could be more artistic or creative and also really passionate about these things like...maybe he wants to be a writer in the future or something like that?since those are his actual interests in the game since I feel like this version of him is really different from the original.as for his back story I like the idea of the alcoholic dad and how he beat up his sister and him trying to protect since it creates a strong bond between them! however since I recommend that he would be more interested in literature than martial arts he would not be really physically strong..which can make him feel awful about himself like he couldn’t protect his sister because he was weak and feels like it was his fault that his sister got beaten up by their dad (and also because he wasn’t in the house) so the your point of him feeling guilty because he couldn’t protect his sister will still be there ! Oh and instead of the martial arts club he can be in a books club or create his own literature club! and..yeah that’s pretty much the end of my suggestions I hope I didn’t come off as rude this is just what I personally feel would fit him more soo feel free to add anything to my ideas :)

I'm so happy you did Senpai, he was so boring in every way. But in this version he's personality is actually appealing, he's background makes you feel sympathy towards him and like him even more, the option of befriending his sister is so cool, and his looks are ✨ stunning ✨

I was thinking Senpai should be weak, cowardly, but also kind, and occasionally he gains the bravery to say no, thanks to the player helping him stand up for himself.
He lacks courage which Yandere Chan has in spades. Yandere Chan lacks kindness which he has. They complete each other not because they are empty shells who suddenly become fulfilled around each other, but because they help each other, covering each other’s weaknesses.
