@@mochamochee the kalimba is normally tuned to play the notes C, D, E, F, G, A, and B. Accidentals include sharps, naturals, and flats. Sharps raised the pitch by half a step and flats lower the pitch by half a step. For example, if a piece of music has a sharp on C, you cannot play C sharp on the kalimba because it's between C and D. I'm not great at explaining but hope that made some kinda sense. also im typing this way too late at night to think well. thank god i proofread the first sentence cause i originally put H, too. ha oh lord
the principle behind it is very similar actually! the music box has a circular body with small dots on it, and when you turn it the dots snap the pieces of wire and cause them to vibrate just like pinching them with fingers does
This is amazing. I would have just thrown my arms up after looking at the price of a chromatic Kalimba and given up on getting that major 7th. It takes gumption to buy a pair of kalimbas in different diatonic scales, and to learn to play them in tandem, to make it happen. I don't have that kind of gumption, but I'm content to watch content from people who do have it.
Hey there! I've been considering getting one for a while but have been hesitant on which to get for the quality and materials. Where did you get yours from?
Now where did I hear that music before, oh yeah, the concert hall. Very impressive. I also will give you two thumbs up and a “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.” Nice Cover!
april, ty for this, I have no words to describe how this relaxed me I have a hard time felling calm and what not, your songs always help, but this, you leggit shut down my rage and doubts ty my dear, thank you very much
C'est vraiment très beau. Je viens juste de commander un Kalimba, mais je n'y connais rien. J'adore le son de cette instrument. Vous jouez magnifiquement bien et c'est peu dire. Joyeux Noël 🎅🤶
This is amazing and shows why I don't like playing diatonic instruments. Out of curiousity, why is it that the octave parts sound out of tune with each other?
Am I weird that I discovered this beautiful classical piece via a videogame? :D My goodness, this really throws me back to childhood, when I was playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein :) Thanks :)

Aren't we tired of not being able to play our favourite pieces on kalimba because they have accidentals? Yes.

Get a chromatic kalimba, problem solved...
bruh u cant play flats or sharps kinda boring ngl
This beautiful piece of music being played on the kalimba sounds like it's being played by a music box.

You can always just buy two in the same scale and tune one to be sharp.
Für Elise*. Really great though. Love hearing kalimba music.
That was beautiful. I got a 17 key kalimba 2 days ago and am entranced by it. I hope to play just half as well as you some day.

Would you care to explain why some of your tines are turned upwards? Does that change the tuning, or maybe the resonance?
Its much easier to find some keys and it also avoid playing wrong keys.
