Thanks for the video. I like how you described what need to be removed.
One constructive comment. Next time, please run the video at normal speed when you remove and put in the main component, such as the starter in this clip. Sometimes, removing the main component is challenge due to specific angle to pull it it out and the same thing with when you put it in. Fast forward on the bolts and other things is good though.

If you hear the starter just spinning when you try to turn it on its the starter bendix which means you need a new starter. If you try hitting it its not gonna start it but you still need a new starter. If you hear it click and it doesn't crank its your starter as well. But with this problem you can hit it and it will start the car

to add to this vid. on the all wheel drive models, the starter is located on the driver's side of the vehicle. jack up the car and pull the front wheel and you now have access to the starter!

Hi Jason... I recently replaced a bendix on a starter for my e46 318i. However, when i tried to start the car, the key could only go as far as to turn the dash on, no cranking. but when i connect the starter directly to the battery with the key on ON position, the car starts. is there a way around this issue so i can start the car with the key?

What is the difference between starter manual transmision of automatic ?
Hello I have a question about this. I am having a problem with my starter. What is ths wire that connects to the starter . Not the power wire from the alternator but the other one. What is that wire?? Please help!!

I followed this and removed all 3 bolts but the starter won't come out. I tried to wiggle and tap on it but still stuck there like there is another bolts that is holding it. Any suggestion?
Dude replaced starter said he had take off axle n then it drove funny and wheel was actin up. Is that right? Now car is wrecked cuz wheel was actin up. Is it possible he messed stuff up? Did he need mess wit axle to change starter

Did it sound like a grinding sound when you would crank it? Mine turns on rarely but does very much want to turn on sometimes. But I get grinding like sound. Is that what this one sounded like?

Nathaniel Malik James the X starter is located on the driver's side of the engine. The starter is different and not interchangeable due to its orientation on the engine. So be sure you ask for or order the starter for the x model. It is basically the same procedure for removal and replacement.

I don't have that gap to take it out smh I had to take out a back plate to get it out I did not have enough space I have 03.

NICE VIDEO! But there was no reason for you to speed up the main part of the removal/installation of the starter.....I had to slow the playback speed way down just to see.

hey, i have 2013 g37x sedan, tried starting today and all it does just makes on click and won't start.. Is that a starter? Battery terminals and the battery is fine. Any ideas?
More than likely the starter. Have you tried any other keys? Jump starting?

Had that replaced today but the mechanic charged me 350 including 200 labor. Problem is that alignment was completely off when I drove it, and 2 lights came on VLC and SlIp. Don't K now what that mechanic has been touching

Use a hammer or something long that’s metal and lay on the ground lol. U dnt have to stick your whole body just a portion lol

There is an option to playback RUclips videos at slower speeds. You can do that if you need to watch him do it slower.

the alternator is not too bad, just more involved. I have a video on g35 belts and pulleys diys that shows most of the procedure.
I am gonna strokebout. The too bolt is frizen😢😢. I've come too far with your easy dIY to loose. Would a swivel work. These ppl give no room to work!
It was super easy to remove but FUCK I couldn’t get it back in for an hour😂😂😂 bitch was impossible but eventually I got it in. Just a reminder to those who are doing it, remove it and then take the old one to where you’re purchasing a new one, they’ll typically knock off like $40
I wanna kick something so bad because those two 14mm bolts on mine just won't budge no matter what. It's aggravating as hell.
PEOPLE, stop whining about the speed. You can slow it down the speed in the video options.
The speed is so dam fast, I could not determine what you were doing. Bad quality.

If you experience rusty bolts or other complications it could even take an entire day haha. I've had 10 min jobs turn into several hour jobs
