    I recommend changing your parameters of "What is accuracy". Overall, electro impedance is one of the least reliable indicator of Body fat. It is depend upon hydration levels and electrolytes. It has been shown to be even lest accurate than some one who is experienced with Calibers. Basically it would be best used as a reference tool by taking your readings upon awakening or at the same time in the morning. Note, the scale you are reviewing will definitely be more accurate than your smart watch as the smart watch is reading between to sensors on the wrist (not really sending signal throughout body). The farther the points the more accurate the results, at least this is my understanding.

    • @FitnessWithFrost
      @FitnessWithFrost Год назад +1

      I totally understand all your points, but I don't think I'm going to be recommending calibers due to the nature of there being such a learning curve. Also due to the nature of how accessible electo impedance scales are they are by far the most popular for people to buy. I still haven't found one I can recommend, but I also wanted to give an insight to be methodology.
      I am so critical of these due to the nature of how my weight is a bit higher even if I do have a lower body fat percentage. I think you can agree the Inbody scanner is the most accurate when it comes to electro impedance so I use that as my baseline. Due to the nature of my higher BMI the scales that I have tested seem to over prioritize that in the calculation for body fat. To the extent that I think it might be the only thing it utilizes. Due to that I can't recommend these to people just starting their fitness journey.
      I think you know that a lot of people that just start with resistance training can gain weight within the first month or two even if they are losing body fat. If they have a scale that prioritizes BMI then they will see their body fat percentage increase. So I don't even think I can consider it a useful tool for anyone that is getting started, but for those that are well into their fitness journey it might be a little bit more applicable, but to me I still can't recommend it

    I am not a health specialist or anything but I guess maybe the difference relies on the test method, most of the body fat monitors only test through upper limbs. It appears that this one calculates it considering resistance and impedance through all the body, so the fat on the legs, tummy and stuff is also considered.

      @@FitnessWithFrost"my legs are actually the leanest part of my body" is the exact reason why the Omron is precise because it measures not only the lower but also the upper part of your body.
      You saying "this is the most precise" or "this isn't precise" is funny because how do you know? To know which method is precise you need to compare the results to those of the most precise method available. Have you been doing a medical check up with full body composition analysis? Because if not then the most precise technology used is giving the most precise results which would be the Omron in this scenario cause it's using 8 point measurement.
      All the other scales only use electrodes on the feet and the particles take the fastest way so one leg up and the other one down therefor youll always only get a proper analysis of your lower body.
      If this is "the leanest part" of your body it completely makes sense that you have higher body fat percentage when including the upper body

    I almost think you look leaner than me and I get 12% with this scale... I do daily morning training and evening training tho so could it be difference in muscle mass? Muscle conducts electricity much better and isn't that the technology... Some people said that you get more accurate measurement if you go sauna and measure it afterwards because of the body temperature "helps you conduct more electricity". I'm not sure is this true, but they say... After sauna I might get 0.5-1% less on that scale of body fat...
