    Great video. What would be the best way to monitor your better fat level for at home use?

    • @WesJH
      @WesJH  Год назад +13

      Needs to be consistent. Recommended is in the morning, fasted, after you use the restroom (1 & 2), completely naked. Removes as many variables as possible that could effect the impedance readings.

      @@rafaelgomez1989 As far as i know, you can't buy a DEXA scan directly like a body fat scale. It's a really big and expensive machine which is used only by medics to measure the body fat accurately. If you really wanna try one, you should make an appointment on your local hospital.

    @suhaeri Год назад +12

    Agree. For most users, at home body scale with fat percentage should be used as monitoring purpose. As long as we see a trend, either going up or down, then we can be satisfied with it. The rest can be confirmed by looking at the mirror. Are we satisfied by what we are seeing. If not, then continue the process with this kind of scale as a tool. While for the minority and the professional who seek the true value of body fat, you just have to go with a DEXA. Great video!!!

Do you think it's a consistent 10lb swing in readings or if you have say 40lbs of body fat it would only be +/- 1lb? Looks like you make quality videos so definitely subscribed

    2:15 The thing that first come to my mind with these hybrid scales is, why not make it work from one hand to the opposite foot, do it on both sides, and you get a reading that includes the midsection?
    I mean, the mid section is one of the more important parts in terms of body fat control ..

    • @WesJH
      @WesJH  Год назад +2

      I believe there's a technical issue with that. the bioelectrical impedance is a minuscule amount that you can't detect. I'm unsure if the distance between hand to foot would require a higher amount of electrical impulse. That would be my best guess.

      No that is not how your body works. You don’t just loose fat in the area you train, you loose it on the hole body. If you just train your arms, you also loose fat in your legs.
      Your genetics may effect the results, bc they determine where you ll storage your fat and where you ll loose it first
