- Hi guys in this video i have restored a Rusty PVC pipe cutter in a cool way to entertain you guys.The cutter was too rusty and i find it from scrap store and it wasn't easy to restore it.I used a simple method to disassemble and grind the blade to look like chrome color and sharped it.
For removing rust i used H2SO4 and it was not concentrated and this dangerous chemical is capable of corroding skin, paper, metals, and even stone in some cases. If sulfuric acid makes direct contact with the eyes, it can cause permanent blindness.So, be very careful i don't recommend you to do it.
After 5 minutes of rubbing steel wire brush i dried the parts and ready to primer after primer i sand the parts with 120P Grit and then 320P after that was ready to be paint with my favorite color after painting i also baked the painted parts for 20 minutes at 100 degree Centigrade which i didn't show in video after that the result is in front of you.Personally i really liked this result!

A nice restoration eventually. However, as a new _Draper_ equivalent costs only £8 brand new in the UK (and that includes a nice new _sharp_ blade) I'd have to question whether it's worth the time, trouble and materials.
maybe he hasn't got the money to buy a new one, plus the satisfaction of doing it, anyone can go to the store and buy one if they can afford it, not everyone has the skills to refurbish something.
i've seen these typically used for pex pipe, no spinning to cut
Looks like you need to do a good sharpening of the blade. You should never have to twist the pipe to cut through.

Your holding it upside down. Your not supposed to need to turn the pvc bit cut through it like a pare of scissors. Just keep squeezing the handle.

Dude, you sick of life? Never pour water into the acid. In Poland we have such a rhyme: "Pamiętaj chemiku młody, zawsze wlewaj kwas do wody" which is more or less in English: "Remember the young chemist, always pour the acid into the water". Translate it into your own language, create a rhyme, learn it and apply it in life.

To cut you should not rotate the PVC pipe is cut like a scissors

Это не о новом и старом, я люблю восстанавливать бесполезные инструменты на новый.
Я просто вижу смысл отримонтировать и продать,пусть это дешевле но прибыль.Это труборез,там нож остро заточил?Я сам некоторые вещи востанавливаю и обратно ими можно работать.Я только ЗА!МОЛОДЕЦ.
