Your kid is no joke with his speed. Like you said if he cleans it up just a little there is nobody catching him. And the crazy thing is is that he’s young so picture how he will be in a year or 2. He will be saying catch me if you can hahahahahaha
I'd personally say for both people commenting here to wait until things are safe and try join a mini z club and race their as you'll have more space , more people to race with , tracks already brought and layed down- you'll just need to pay a membership fee I think and your set to go I've seen wayy to many people buy the tracks and then sell them due to not having the space to lay them out or other family issues not being massive fans of mini z racing around the living room Ultimately its your decision but I'd say it's best to wait and maybe check out some local clubs once covid has gone
Wish my dad was so enthusiastic about hobbies we could share together growing up. The kids are obviously having a blast while also being very serious. No tracks where I live might have to make the drive to Houston for some of these events, looks like a blast!
I run the Billstein Body as a slotcar on a slotcar chassis. The way it looks, the real MiniZ is about as fast as our slotcars. Thinking about getting in to RC MiniZ, so thanks for the info.
Mini Zs are so cool. I got into them with the MR01. 27mhz. 2.4ghz is so much nicer. Wish I could enjoy them with my kids but my youngest is 41 and live 100 miles away. Treasure your boys and the time you have with them.
About to order a mini z, the Suzuki 4x4 was ok. But I need something fast and stick for my indoor course, any suggestions? Gotta be micro scale and preferable mini z... local hobby stores suck. So its online... thnx

I'm just curious as to why that is. As for the mini z line I really wanted a kyosho mini z optima. I really regret not buying one when it came out.
Does anyone else have a problem where the car skids out one way easier than the other (especially in the RWD version). I tried using the planetary and a aftermarket adjustable ball diffs and can't eliminate it. How many cars has the marshal crushed? lol. Dude, your son has a career ahead of him.
can sometimes be the diff binding on the motor pod bearings a bit too tight or a bunch of other issues. best bet is finding a guide to making the mini-z run ultra smooth and following that though if you are like me and put a 12000kv motor on an MR03 then no amount of smooth running will eliminate in which case dropping down to a slower speed motor normally helps
