Love these. I bought one a while back and almost immediately bought 4 more for my wife and kids. Got some exercise mat tiles cheap to make our own RCP style track for about $100 cheaper. Would love it if someone organized a race in North Houston!
Man back in about 2006 I had a whole fleet of Z's, track in my basement.. My oldest boy and I were into racing outdoors and wanted some winter time fun between outdoor seasons..Ended up with 6 cars and weekly fun runs with family and friends for about 3 winters.. LOADS of fun..
You gotta buy a Kyosho RCP Mini 96 track like the one at Lonestar hobbies. Only about $300. Think about the races with the kids when it's raining outside.
Really looking forward to more Mini Z content. Took my son to watch the club races and found out the also do Mini-Z. I am getting my start in buggy hopefully this year and son saw the Mini-Z’s and fell in love! He’s dying to get one and race. Now we just have to figure out how to rig the lotto and we’ll be all set! Lol Great vid as always Mark!!! Keep em coming!
Set up correctly these cars are AWESOME....I have 3 with all the hop ups and we raced them FULL throttle, they handle like if they were are on RAILS. Get all your hop ups from kenos hobby. Best place for all your mini Z items.
Would you recommend the LM or the MM platform as far as overall performance? What is more popular from track perspective. Plus’ or minus’ of either? I heard some say the Audi R8 mm is the best one but I’d like to hear other people’s opinion as that Toyota GT-One LM looks amazing. I’m looking into picking up a pair. Thanks for your help!
Just tried my 1st mini Z tonight at my local RC shop...it was great and fun...but messy...I was all over the place...oh well...love the channel....Chesapeake, Va. signing off.....Coastal RC Speedway and Hobbies.....X Mods....have them too....
Nice video on these cars out of all the RC's I own, you can spend 2-3 times the price of the car on mods! Not saying that's a bad thing, it just gets addictive buying the upgrades! But when they're hooked up! Awesome!
hey mark, I love your videos. could you please let me know where I could get that stand you store your tekno cars on as I need one for my et410 and eb48 and yours is perfect. please reply... thanks
Gotta thank you for this one as I loved it! Picked up an awd GTR 34 and started fooling with it about 6 weeks ago. Soon after I ended up picking up a 35 then got it a bearing kit; that’s the wife’s. These things are addicting they are so much fun! Hope you and your sons enjoy yours and you post up some mini z vlogs now and then. Thanks!
Hey mark. So I just got back in the hobby and my local hobby shop has mini z races. I got the last mini z which is the orange McLaren 12c. I love racing the mini z and have taken first class in the b mains. I'm glad to see u get into the mini z.
You can set up some braking by trimming the throttle so when you release the trigger it applies gentle reverse. Then use less sticky front tires so you have a little less front tire grip. This way you car is not prone to spin outs and it will feel like it is smoother on the corners. There are a LOT of tweaks that will lead to winning races. Or at least becoming more competitive. Some race tracks require you to remove reverse. Backing up into traffic is sometimes a No No. Also.. they should clean dirt off the track with a mop.
Nice vidz bro. I am getting my son into this hobby too. 4 years old and starting him young. I've got a question bro... in the stock Transmitter, is there a way to limit the throttle out put? I mean, i wanna set it in a way that if my son goes full throttle, the car is only going half the speed... i know what u r thinking bro but you know kids.... i am still pretty sure that the default 'training mode' setting are still too fast for a 4 yr old beginner.
If I find myself at a mini-z race, i'm definitely picking one up. Looks like fun. What type of batteries does it use, and how long do they usually last? They look like AAA or AA size.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy one of those mini z meclauren for my dad here soon as well as im planning on building a 4wd group b rally car for him. most likely going to use a arrma Typhon or some buggy like wit a Porshe 911 body. getting some of those Emax fpv cars for almost all my little brother since im the oldest of 7 it's kinda my job. last week went and showed my dad and brother my cars and other rc stuff. can't wait got birthdays coming up and Christmas and I have to start now or ill never get it done
Man! Wish I had a LHS like this! All I got is a hobby town with absolutely 0 spare parts or products that anyone would ever want. It’s honestly pretty sad 😂
Looks like your son was pretty good on the track. When I went to Lonestar Hobbies I got to try it out and ran about a 7 second lap. What was both your lap times? Getting the itch to go buy one!!!
I was heavy into the Mini-Zs back in the day before I got into racing/freestyle quadcopters. They are very fun. I would still be into them if I had the space to build that little track. I live in San Francisco so space is a premium. I knew you would love the Mini-Z because you are a competitive racer. Mini-Zs have been around a long time so I am surprised you haven't run them before. It is great Ethan enjoys it as well. I love bashing around with my 9 year daughter with our Latrax SSTs. They are stock but very fun and capable regardless. The Mini-Z bodies are the best looking around and there are decades worth of bodies and mods out there. Wait until you try the 4WD versions and really go around that track.

Awesome. Such a great video experiencing another aspect of RC and hanging out with your kids.
Just ordered my first mini z today! I'm hoping to get a good handful of us together and starting a group of us racing
So cool of you hanging with your son. What a great dad.
Amazing... COFFEE AND RC. BEST. COMBO. EVER.
I bought two mini z today. From your favorite hobby shop. Bill was great to talk with. Thanks
That’s really cool how you and your son can just go to a shop and race mini z
Need more shops like this in the uk
Thanks for showing new stuff. Now I got to find them around me.
Man this might bring me back to RC. I really like these little cars.
You gotta buy a Kyosho RCP Mini 96 track like the one at Lonestar hobbies. Only about $300. Think about the races with the kids when it's raining outside.

Man I love your content and I’ve learned a few things since I started watching you

It would be cool if you did a review on the kyosho mp9 tki4 readyset
"Why can't I get my own, though?" Because I've only done a few laps. Wait til we get halfway through the video. Dads. 😁
That looks like a lotta fun!
I think I may want to get one.
I had the Xmod car it was cool, now I wanna try kyosho.

Thanks for making this video. I was curious about the mini z set up at lonestar and this answered all my questions!
There so much fun im on my 2nd mini z, awd and rwd gtr love them!!! Totally worth it!!
I love the rc car's
Mini-Zs, reminds me of slot cars. That got expensive too.
Exactly over rated for me
I race a GLRacing of 102 mm and I've noticed it's improved my 8th scale driving
Lonestar is so close yet so far from where I live, I wish there were more hobby shops near me
questionably_xavier same bro, I feel you. They closed all the hobby shops in my city AND the only track. 😢

How well do they run on just road? Like regular roads?
How do you like the rear-wheel drive cars? I had the silver Mercedes and didn't care for it I was thinking about getting an all-wheel drive

I definitely gotta get me an on-road rc, love the content mark!🤘🔥

Blaines World the 12 c is sick! I almost got that one!
@@MarkSantaMaria I'm telling u the body is the best one and it handles the best.
Welcome to Mini-Z. You need to get tires and bearings.
Hard facts!
Kinda like rock crawling
I'm looking to get into mini z but don't know
what to look for...
Many groups on Facebook to help. Look for one in your local area. Shops you can buy stuff. MC3 in Canada, Kenon is the USA, wolfram RC in the USA, etc
Looks realy fun
Damn...the coffee plug!
Your a great dad.
Very Cool

Interesting. I kept spinning it when I released the throttle.
Oh man, that small course is dope. Awesome vid Mark. :D
Wait until you try drifting with it! Bet you’ll love it
Now I want one
Try awd mini z to drift super fun
that looks fun!

Very cool! I just don’t think I could get into them? Never know?
Those Mini-Z look like fun!
Minus the lack of mask wearing going on there .....Covid ain't fun
Hows being a sheep? Fun?
@@thomasgross8289 didn't realise sheep could get covid 19............
I think he's a raccoon based off the profile pic
@@thomasgross8289you make no damn sense
yo thomas its realize, and your last name should be moron but gross will do
💪💯🚀🔥 buddy of mine has a couple of the Mini Z's... Cool, quick little cars.
I would get the AWD for drifting. If u have a wooden floor at home would be perfect
If I find myself at a mini-z race, i'm definitely picking one up. Looks like fun. What type of batteries does it use, and how long do they usually last? They look like AAA or AA size.
Awesome
That was real decent! 👏 👏
You should go to RCCA in Ft. Worth!
How many slits do you put in the tyres and does this make them less likely to grip roll?

Ethan loves it, you look like you just want to go bash tour traxxas lol 🍻
Man! Wish I had a LHS like this! All I got is a hobby town with absolutely 0 spare parts or products that anyone would ever want. It’s honestly pretty sad 😂
Any tips on what car I should get as a beginner car under 200
Cool!
Are there mini z tracks in most hobby shops?
I still have a xmod. With all the upgrades
Great video I enjoyed watching.Ethan is really good at driving those mini z.You should get a track for the house or just make one.
Its crazy... we are here now and everyone is confused how this 8 year old is killin it... hahaha
Looks like your son was pretty good on the track. When I went to Lonestar Hobbies I got to try it out and ran about a 7 second lap. What was both your lap times? Getting the itch to go buy one!!!
Here now and my 8 year old just ran a 6.7! Hes probably gonna beat me tonight.
Mark Santa Maria that is awesome!!! Maybe he should start his own vlog on mini z mods and racing?
I can't wait to tell my son that No he can't have a toy, but he can play with the one I'm about to buy for myself 🤣🤣🤣
Let the kids win
How to you guys get grip on the mini z tracks? I just bought a track and have very low grip with the stock tires. I'm using the rough side.
Cool
Im looking at these but dont have money for one cause dang there expensive
That car do you choose is the Audi R8 lms ultra from team phoenix the 24h Nürburgring winning car Mega
nice mark
No Mark, that’s not how the cookie crumbs it’s how the wallet opens!! Haha i know the feeling because that is why I own Rc’s in the first place!!
You picked that up quick once a racer always a racer! If it has wheels and a remote Mark can race it. Lol
Something my kid would check me on hahaha
“I want my own rc” hahaha
I can not find a mini z anywhere trying to get one...also not sure if i want awd or rwd
What tires do you recommend
Remind me of my best xmods
I’d love one of these but then here in the uk don’t no where to take it to use
Same challenge anywhere in the world surely.
Which directions do lines on tires go
Wait so y was the ones packaging was all Chinese like the yellow box set?
mini z is so cool!! i have 3 :D
I want a mini z so much
Still best content Mark! I've checked out the other RC guys videos and they're BOR...ING! Let us know which coffee was the best.
Well, looks like I'm into mini z now!!!!
I see a track showing up in the old podcast room
Wish mini-z was more popular down here in H-Town.
What is that track and where can I get?
Also if you want better tires for the mini z they make ones that's call PN racing tires.
Waterproof?
