- Going 4 wheel driving? Some of my friends need to hear this and everyone should practice it. Here’s the easiest way to engage and disengage 4x4 and turning off and on traction control. Turn off traction control at the end of going off road but leave on otherwise for safety. Do not exceed 30mph in low range. If you get stuck get a CA Tuned bumper with a Warner winch with all the Factor 55 accessories and never worry again.
Turn off parking assist, lane assist and traction control AFTER going into 4x4
Where did you get that nice label placard below the aux buttons? Thanks!
I think you are talking about the storyteller buttons they provide
Question: what is the reason for turning off the traction control before going off-road? I’m new to this and want to understand. Thanks.
Mercedes so-called smart computer thinks it’s best to not allow tires to spin in four-wheel-drive. So much so that The tires won’t spin when they need to. When the Mercedes senses will slip it limits the throttle and power to that wheel.
Todd, where did that switch for the ARB come from? Was/is that a factory option and if not can you share the switch source for upfit?
DM
Storyteller Overlander did the original build out complete with the ARB and all. I added a few things later like the winch and number but I recall Agile off-road had the switch and really nice connections.
Todd what are you averaging MPG ?
I would say around 12 mpg
Hopefully 20 on the highways
What’s with the check engine light?
Happens a bit. This was related to the EGR and DEF system. Usually nothing major until you go into limp mode and have to restart the vehicle.
This system is inferior to American made 4x4 systems. It seems like the Germans could learn a little from Detroit.
I think they don’t have any r&d for the sprinters because they think these are just made for Amazon vans
