Fascinating seeing underneath and the quality of construction, looks simpler than I'd imagined but on the other hand, the engine looks like a sophisticated power house. Had that engine in an e-class for a few years. I really liked it. It is the engine they did the long range records in Larede at the early 2000's Where they broke the 50k km, 100k km and 100k miles records if i remember correct. (not just for Diesel cars, but for all cars above 2L Engines) They ran 3 e-classes that the FIA sealed from the factory (they took customer cars and these 3 customers got their cars a tiny bit later as they had to build them again to spec) almost full throttle for a month only stopping for driver changes, filling up the fuel, oil changes.
