Great live Stream Erik.Always some great info. Thanks
Always learn from you! Your a great resource. Thanks for answering questions on your website!! B/R's
Any time!
Yes one of the best advices was long seating the bullets before seating the final depth, Thanks Erik
Great advice on the long seating of bullets & then reseating to final depth before shooting. Thanks!!! FREE
Thanks for all the info Erik
I like air guns. However, I find them to be as, or even more expensive then powder burners. Can really jump down the rabbit hole with either out both.
Eric, love all of your content and a huge proponent of your tuners. Food for thought!!! have you thought about doing a podcast with a new shooter. I have been shooting PRS for the past two years and loading for the past 9 months I would love to discuss my experience. where do I get my information, what products did I purchase, what I think worksand my process. I would love your feedback as well as to see what a new shooter goes thru in getting started
You should try to get dan lilja on your show. You've interviewed several cut rifle barrel guys, have a button guy on. I've had a couple liljas, a shilen, a krieger and now a bart and they've all shot good.
It would be fun to see you and jason out at that texas plinking challange with needmore 1 and 2
I don't think Jason is with Cortina Precision any longer.
@@ruger2491 True. He sayd that in one of his streams. I really enjoyed the needmore series and allways looked forward for a video to come out.
@ruger2491 what? What happened? Where did he go?
@@katashi222 I think he just found a new job
as regularly as you are able Eric, reffering to live stream appreciate your channel
Thank you
Do large rifle primers have any advantage over small primers in medium capacity cases?
More the better mate ✌️
Where do you get your mirage shields and what do you transport your rifles in? (Cases)
I thought it was pretty cool when I got a couple tunner breaks and they where in the bottles because that's exactly how I clean them but I didn't know that's why you put them in the bottles 👍
How precise must a powder load be for 600 metres? Is 0,1 grains good eunogh?
Hi Erik, I'm sure Gavin would do thread turning on barrels for some of you listeners. You don't tend to mention him when recommending gunsmiths.
BTW love the YT stuff you put out.
Great suggestion!
Thank you
It is sad, but I stopped watching your channel years ago because I just can't keep up with all of your priceless and exclusive reloading euipment . . .
Welcome back!
@@ErikCortina
🤣 . . . You truly are one of the most, if not the most valuable source on YT for that wonderful sport. In addition the way you R explaining things in that calm and sympathetic way made me watch numerous videos but I honestly hope you understand my point when it comes to my limited budget and therefore limited feasibility.
will a 30cal tuner work for a 7mm? i dont see .284 as an option for the ec tuner.
Hey Erik, thank you that you are giving community great info. My question to you is SAC mandrel pulling up vs yours mandrel going down? Your feedback greatly appreciated it.
What is the expected time frame for 223 Rem Expander Mandrel Dies?
I am amazed that people slap a bayonet style chronograph in the barrel of a rifle while developing a load. they say that is does not affect the impact point of the load and now you said that carbon in a silencer (because of weight change) affect the tuning of a rifle. Glad that I never strayed away from common sense on things like this.
Use it to get your velocity nodes then shoot groups without it.
@@eggbert191 Two sets of cartridges for no good reason. Use an off-the-rifle chronograph instead. I don't work from velocity nodes.
Ya but using a scuba tank is a pain to, you have to have it pressure tested, to have it filled and it's hard to find places to fill them
I’d disagree with the guy on the suppressor cleaning. I clean mine after 100 rounds and there’s substantial carbon buildup. For extreme consistency they need to be cleaned often imo
Erik, how do I communicate with you about your Area 419 press?
Do you ever think of making complete guns in-house ?
I have some rifle brass that the shoulder was bumped back further than intended. (My mistake) between 3-8 thousandths more than intended. Chuck it in the garbage or is it safe to shoot?
100% safe to shoot but may not be as accurate as properly sized. May also have a different speed due to case volume(so reduce load if you're near the ragged edge). If you're shooting off the shelf ammo in a mass produced gun you're often going to have that much extra headspace.
What case trimmer? I heard "durrelle , but I don't think that is right. Help!
Hi Erik, missed the stream again 😅
I am picking up a rest in a bit and I have been told the stock isn't wide enough for it, I know this and will have to resort to getting an adapter, will tracking still be an issue?
And would you know any good brands for them, or would it be better to just make one (know some guys that run a CNC shop and some guys who could help me design it)
Thank you.
It depends on the stock you have. Try it first, it might work as is.
Would 7mm mag be the best for elk out to 750 yrds
Erik, serious question. I follow you and your videos religiously. Thank you for all the info. You stated that you like .004-.005 neck clearance, but then you said " all my competition guns are tight neck"...??? Am I confused, or is that a contradiction? Thanks, rsbhunter
When he said "tight necks" he means they require neck turning thw brass. He does allow for .005" neck clearance but that's after he has neck turned.
Are going to do any 300 win mag dies or are you just chilling with all the 6.5s out their. I love the 30cal bullets to the point I've made my own casting and pushed out to 2800 plus. Got good groups out to 300 yards. I wish I could go to a range that could actually let me touch the full potential of the loads I've been working on but you know how that works in the beginning lol.
How heavy are your . 30 cal loads? What are you using for lube at those speed? I have used HBN in my barrels and on my 110 supersonic and 230 subsonic. Cleaning is better than wax.
@@glockguy4127 I make 185 192 176 all gaskchecked and all over 2100fps the 185 are 2500 range
DID THE LIVESTREAM GO AWAY?
If your off of the 284 why don't you sell me that 284 wheeler reamer you probably have just laying around.
It’s long gone. Sold it to a team mate of mine.
I usually just sit and watch your vids and gain what knowledge I can. Once we got to the 242 mandrel I got on the keyboard. I use the K+M arbor press with the force pack and gas flame annealing.
My necks (Lapua) are cut to 0.0125". In order to achieve a 30 to 50 lbs force I have to use a 0.243" mandrel. The Needmore uses a 0.2645" to get that. My 284 uses a 0.284" mandrel.
I had this conversation with Greg a few days back and all he said was new Video coming should explain. It did not. Any ideas? I was thinking I was not bending it enough to get the yield point correct but It looks like I am.?
Sounds like your bushing is too tight.
@@ErikCortina Thank you sir. So too much yield/bending I shall investigate that.
Brux?
I would love to see an interview with brandon green
Coming up! :)
Once every 2 weeks
What is the gun rest you and Speedy use for cleaning your rifles?
PMA Cleaning Cradle
Your fav action?
At 1hr 12min 45 sec maybe that guy that wants a .242 mandrel is one of those psycho cast bullet shooters😁😁
Black powder cartridge rifle
😅you still use brux barrels
What is a clicker
RUclips has unsubscribed me from your channel twice now.
Coming from the same guy who didn't know you had to resize rifle brass? Yeah lets not
Who didn’t know you had to resize rifle brass?
@@ErikCortinawhat, tell me about this resizing craziness. Brass needs to be resized???😅😂
@ErikCortina Heard you say you're not concerned about cleaning brass, but never heard you say anything about not resizing it. Is he confused?
