    Excellent interview! Learned a couple new things which is always exciting. Carpet gate is hilarious! Obviously not his fault after he asked for it to to be checked into. I can see why people would complain because carpet has rows which would work like grooves, but if 40% of the people are doing it one shouldn't be singled out. Thanks so much to both of you for sharing your knowledge!

    Loving these videos. Really learning a lot about what really goes into competing and not just competing but winning too. I just stepped down from a 338 Lapua to my first custom made rifle in 6.5 PRC and I am super excited to go shoot it and zero it tomorrow. I'm a long ways off from competing but one day I would like to.
    Keep up the awesome work!

    I was at SWN when Mid called everyone to center range over the carpet. I thought it was nothing but a distraction. Another good interview Eric, keep it going.

    I remember a couple years ago we were squaded. I think it was his first PRS style match at DEA Dancing Elk Alexander and we tied for second! Good shooter!

    @believethetarget for curiosity, are you taking the 6.5PRC and just necking it up or are you improving the case shoulder and improving case capacity. The fact you guys are getting around 3k FPS is crazy… even with a 31” barrel… I’m getting 3050 FPS in 6.5 with a 153 in a 26” I know we are comparing apples and oranges but still wild to see those velocities

    "Everyone is welcome to compete as long as your rifle is 28.5in OAL and 13.1lbs with a wooden stock, your bipod is 5.3in, and your mat is hex color #66cc99." Just F*k off and shoot!
    "That rifle is too heavy, that's not representative of a hunting rifle" says the guy packing 40lbs extra on his belt line (every single time!): if you can pack that ass up a mountain I can pack my 30lb rifle up a mountain: I get so sick of these kinds of people who just want to make rules instead of shoot!
    Open Classes all the way!
    P.S. It happens in all sports: cycling is notorious for the sock rule, swimming for the bum rule, in Olympic sailing they measure the boats down to fractions of millimeters...I could go on. These people bore me!

    People cringe at a 10k starting price for any kind of shooting sport... but those same people will drop 10k on an ice castle, old car, motorcycle, camper, golf cart/clubs, boat, the list goes on...
    Buy once cry once... You'll learn faster and you'll have fun doing it..

    It is pretty simple. If the bipod is sitting deep in the carpet and makes tracks as it moves backwards under recoil and attempts to move bipod sideways are met with resistance - it is illegal. It provides additional traction under recoil and an unfair advantage. Period.

    • @BelieveTheTarget

      Simple? Then why didn’t he get disqualified along with everyone else using carpet?

    • @mickroberts5166
      @mickroberts5166 Год назад

      Because officials are not prepared to enforce rules. Why, only they know. Interestingly, Australian FTR rules clearly forbid this practice

      @@patrickhoolihan1015 your mom is ridiculous. Grab an FTR bipod and plonk it into a thick carpet. Try moving it sideways ... it provides tracking aid old mate. Tracking aids in FTR = cheating. Simple
