Voxel Remesh Plugin | for 3dsMax

- Voxel Remesh is a multi-threaded & C++, volume based remeshing plugin for 3dsMax developed by PolyDesign.
- Volume based Voxel Remesh allows you to:
-
- Create closed surfaces from self intersected meshes,
- Create a high-poly mesh for baking with round edges,
- Create a lowpoly mesh from highpoly,
- Generate a better topology for 3d scan meshes,
- Create level designs,
- Create organic meshes in 3dsMax,
- Create an evenly distributed polygonal mesh for physics simulations,
- A dynamesh like workflow,
- And much more depending on the artist's creativity :)
-
- Since voxel remesh is a volume based plugin, it does only work with closed (watertight) meshes.
- A quick cap holes modifier will do the job for many cases.
- Voxel Remesh is a multi-threaded plugin so more cpu cores mean faster results.
- Voxel Remesh works realtime in low resolutions, and all values are animatable.
-Stay Creative.
You can get Voxel Remesh from here:

This is nuts, great result for creating a quick highpoly. It looks awesome but I'd want to trial it for normal map baking before firing off $59 into the dark and hoping it works for the purpose needed.
Fantastic! Now concept art in max is meditation. Many thanks.
Cool plugin, I had a super tough time creating simplified shells for my models to use as colliders and shadow casters in my game. This tool can handle that very well I guess.
I wish this could detect and handle the corners better.....it will be perfection.
Yes its really worth plugin for advance users ..........!
what a wonderfull!!! so great!!
Can I have a trial copy so I can try it before making a purchase?
No matter how high i set the resolution (up to 2000) and relax to 1000 and all the boxes checked i can not get any kind of cylindrical parts of my model smooth. You can clearly see the flat parts between lines that make up a cylinder. I also tried chamfer before on the remesh object with no effect so there is no way to make hard edges softer and no way to make cylindrical curves round...
Hello, the original mesh should have enough resolution. This is like the dynamesh, if your original mesh is lowpoly at curved areas, the result may look faceted after voxel remeshing. You can try to voxel remesh 2 cylinders to see the results, set one of the cylinders segments to 128, and set the other one to 8 and voxel remesh both with same settings. Low res cylinder will be faceted.
@@PolyDesignTutorials That fixed the cylinder issue but on rail systems its deleting the middle portion if i had a boolean(with clean topology) there. Also i tried multiple chamfer settings and with and without the topology is the same.
@@Remembadaname55 It may be because of overlapping faces. If you are sure that there are no overlapping faces, Sometimes the resolution may cause little issues because of precision errors so can you please try with a different resolution (maybe your res +1 or -1). If it is still the same, you can rotate your model 90 degrees and resetXForm after rotating. This way voxels will be calculated in a different order and it may fix this problem. I am sorry that it sometimes causes errors but i am working on them. Thank you for your feedback.
Amazing plugin!
Very veryy helpful 😍
Damn amazing plugin!!!
How to manage this kind of heavy result???
fantastic work. Is a VoxelRemesh for 2021 on the way?
Thanks :) We are planning to add an update to voxelremesh but since we are currently working on another project it may not be released in 2021.
Amazing plugin !!
Do you think will be possible to handle the chamfer value in the futur ?
Thank you, chamfer value is dependent on relax and resolution for now, however maybe I can make a slider for handling chamfer.
@@PolyDesignTutorials Could be cool, the chamfer on the crate is really small for example.
Fantastic !!!!
add quad adapter also
its so good
Thanks
Really cool plugin - but i always got faceting problem when dealing with cylinders or chamfered cout outs? Any suggestions on that?
Hello, thanks. For cylinder and chamfers, you need higher resolutions for the original mesh. Give more segments to cylinders and chamfers, it will fix the problem.
Check out this image. (Both voxel remesh objects have the same settings but the reference meshes are different)

@@PolyDesignTutorials yeah i thought of this too - for me the best way would be to model a mid poly and then just pick this and turn it into an hp (for game ready models) - i tried to bool a cylinder out of another cylinder - both 128 sides and still got faceting - kind of a problem for me
@@krolog9941 Did you try increasing both resolution and relax values? You can disable refine, and give high resolution and relax for better results. Also activate the smooth as well.
@@PolyDesignTutorials yes I tried all kinds of variations. I've also done a relax modifier on top and I watched at some examples in the video you did here. I'll test a bit along and if it's OK for you I'll send some Screenshots in here or as pm to you
@@krolog9941 Ok, you can send them here or send pm to my artstation. www.artstation.com/batuhanozer
Does this work with chamfer? If it does then it would be great for highpoly
Yes you can chamfer before voxelremeshing, however in order to achieve smooth diagonal edges, you need to set the resolution and relax higher.
@@PolyDesignTutorials Sounds perfect to me! Ill buy it in the morning. Great work!
Eline sağlık kardeşim..Yüksek poligon sorununu çözersen çok daha iyi olur..
Teşekkür ederim, Pro Optimizer ekleyerek polygon sayısını düşürebilirsiniz.
I want to buy it !!! Why not for older versions like Max 2013? Will it work?
No, it works with 3dsmax 2016 and never. Support for older versions may be added in next versions.
Hi, I've bought the plugin and it is great! Where can I download the max 2022 version?
Hello, We will add an update for 3dsmax 2022 support very soon. You will be able to download it from your purchased files page at cgtrader.
@@PolyDesignTutorials excellent, thank you. Keep up the great work
@@RodrigoRabacoStudio Hello again. We have uploaded the v1.01 which includes 3dsMax 2022 support. You can download it from your cgtrader.
how to work with character is very important ^_^
What is the difference between this and quad remeshsher
.... Its two absolutely different things.
I think this is awesome BUT i am kinda not a fan of the building times. I think zbrush is a tick faster there
Thank you, Yes, I am working on making it faster, but at least it is still faster than exporting from 3dsmax, importing to zbrush, dynamesh, export back to 3dsmax, import to 3dsmax.
Do it worked fine with bad triangles?
Most of the time it works well if the mesh is closed and has no problems. Depends on how bad are the triangles :)
holy Shit is fast
Is it possible to work with mapping texture or skin?
I didn't get your question I think. It doesn't preserve the uvs, actually it doesn't generate any uvs. You can unwrap it after voxelremeshing.
@@PolyDesignTutorials Thanks for your reply :)
I am not trying to use it for boolean modeling.
I'm going to try for a kind of liquid animation or organical mesh.
Does this plug-in meet my intentions?
@@yhlee94 Actually, I am not sure, It is not intended for it but it may work as Voxel remesh works on animated objects and updates itself in every frame. I think blobmesh (or metaballs) can be what you are looking for for liquid simulations.
@@PolyDesignTutorials Thank you for your reply.
It's a really cool plug-in I've been looking for.
Is it possible to get that plugin for maya in future&
something i can do in blender for free
