    Thanks! Air disks were just coming out when I got out of wrenching, and I'm getting back into working on trucks. A great refresher course!

    Missed critical info on how you need to release the parking brake on drive axles

      The fronts brakes do not need to release the air brakes.
      It's pretty much the rears because by releasing the air brakes are basically releasing the parking brakes.
      Double chambers.

      I would think so on a parking brake axle

      No. Steering axles don't having parking brakes, only service. That's why it still spins freely when you jack it up off the ground.

    They're not all that easy, guys. I use big channel locks to squeeze that retainer bar down

    Did one today. Replaced rotors and wheel seal. Shit is heavy as hell.

      its not easy when its all rusty and seized. just did my 1st job on these today.... i couldnt even get the brake pads out with my hands despite backing it off all the way... had to use all kinds of pry bard
