I like these videos in which Ryan just talks about an important chapter of Stoicism without the background music.

But I see them because of background music as well. It calms me down.

This is perfect - just Ryan Holiday and a microphone, no background noise, just the material. I dont mind a little bit of music, but this is perfect.

Ding Ding! What can I control AND let go of what you cannot.
I'm 69 retired with no obligations. I'm all in on MY health diet and exercise paleo journey. Three years...
My purpose is to help my less able veteran neighbors where I live. I can't help if I'm can't. It feels sooo right in the moment.
MY selfish dream is that one will get up and follow my path. 🤞

I've been a practicing and growing minimalist for over 15 years. I noticed a copy of your Daily Stoic book onThe Minimalists Desk in a video, and eager for any secret to minimalist success- I snatched it up. Along the way, I had to deal with the places in my life I avoided the most. I would say you changed my life, but instead- you helped me dig deep to find the emotional maturity, kindness *and patience* in myself to work harder each day to be a little better...every day, on long walks, with myself.

6:29 I love to use the Eisenhower Matrix that you talked about in the 10 day spring forward challenge class a few months back to help with intention. Definitely the best way to organize a to-do list into what’s important and what’s not. Thanks again for your great work and books, you continue to inspire and help people! Much love from the Panhandle of TX. ❤

I am conflicted on Seneca. The philosophy of his Ryan mentions has a lot to recommend. But what Seneca said needs to be mentioned in context of what Seneca did. E.g. he said "none of our possessions is essential" but he had huge estates and far more stuff than he needed.

It’s important to approach Stoicism with a genuine understanding rather than as a commodity. While some may misuse its principles, the core of Stoicism-personal growth and resilience-can be profoundly beneficial when practiced authentically. If you’re interested in exploring Stoicism more deeply, Stoic Mind offers thoughtful content on these principles.
