I just got my bicycle (worth 2000$) stolen from me today, also which was the first thing I bought with my hard-earned money as a student. This video really helped me how anger, resentment, and sadness won't solve anything. Sometimes, shit just happens and we all need to be that Zeno after the shipwreck, just smile and move on, do the best in our abilities to become a better person. Cheers!😁
Ding Ding! What can I control AND let go of what you cannot. I'm 69 retired with no obligations. I'm all in on MY health diet and exercise paleo journey. Three years... My purpose is to help my less able veteran neighbors where I live. I can't help if I'm can't. It feels sooo right in the moment. MY selfish dream is that one will get up and follow my path. 🤞
I've been a practicing and growing minimalist for over 15 years. I noticed a copy of your Daily Stoic book onThe Minimalists Desk in a video, and eager for any secret to minimalist success- I snatched it up. Along the way, I had to deal with the places in my life I avoided the most. I would say you changed my life, but instead- you helped me dig deep to find the emotional maturity, kindness *and patience* in myself to work harder each day to be a little better...every day, on long walks, with myself.
Great video Ryan - I’ve been dealing with long term illness for the past two years and one of the keys for me was getting past FOMO and comparing myself to others. It’s been so helpful in developing consistency.
Donna, like you, long term with health issues but Ryan Holiday writing and talking about Stoicism of the Ancients and practicing the principles have helped me immensely. I wish you well!
I also found stoicism trough an illness, it‘s like the last wall that keeps you from getting completely insanse, some diseases are blank horror. However..
6:29 I love to use the Eisenhower Matrix that you talked about in the 10 day spring forward challenge class a few months back to help with intention. Definitely the best way to organize a to-do list into what’s important and what’s not. Thanks again for your great work and books, you continue to inspire and help people! Much love from the Panhandle of TX. ❤
This one...It has value in it. Take it for yourself and others and use it. As for the creator thank you for the nice Jem in the middle of the "Out of this world information JUNK" from whom we barely exist.
Thank you Ryan! Great video today. I will be practicing Seneca's suggestion in Resillancy. And I will use the statement " Okay, Next" to remember to move to the next place in my life!!
Thank you so much Ryan. The time you take to make these videos and content is greatly appreciated. I have learned so much and became so thankful for all the good in my life. Used to always walk around angry. Now things don’t seem to bug me but nothing really excites me either. How do I not be just numb.
"This video is a lifesaver! The Stoic keys to tranquility are exactly what I needed to navigate the chaos in my life. In a world full of turmoil, these Stoic principles provide a beacon of calm and clarity. Truly transformative advice for anyone seeking inner peace. Thank you for sharing such valuable insights!"!
I feel so backwards…as a young teen, I was living pretty stoicly and didn’t even know it. As I became older I became less stoic and just now realizing how much I’ve lived less stoicly the more I learn about it. This must change.
Thanks Ryan for helping promote such an incredibly useful school of ideas for people today! Also, I wonder when people with great POWER will view it as a possession they ought to let go of for the benefit of all, with a healthier actor upon its use.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment! It would indeed be powerful if those with influence embraced Stoicism’s principles for the greater good. If you’re interested in exploring these ideas further, check out Stoic Mind for more insights and discussions on such topics.

I am conflicted on Seneca. The philosophy of his Ryan mentions has a lot to recommend. But what Seneca said needs to be mentioned in context of what Seneca did. E.g. he said "none of our possessions is essential" but he had huge estates and far more stuff than he needed.
I dontunderdtand why you resent donald trump,im reading obstacle is the way. It describes how he is responding to everything that is being done to him right now!
I like these videos in which Ryan just talks about an important chapter of Stoicism without the background music.
But I see them because of background music as well. It calms me down.
Neurodivergent here : it’s difficult not to be able to take off the music :/

This is perfect - just Ryan Holiday and a microphone, no background noise, just the material. I dont mind a little bit of music, but this is perfect.
Thank you so much for this. This video helps me improve my life, I am very grateful to able to listen to you.

Great meditation to start the day=]
Great video, hope to meet you in Dublin ☘️
I really enjoy your work Ryan. Great breakdowns on the concepts. I'm a work in progress for sure. Keep it up!!

Your background 😮
looks like Seneca likes swimming just like Ryan does.
"Don't just do something.Stand there." - lyric from an old Gong album.
Stoicism has given me a great perspective but not as much as being an atheist. My mind is now truly free of all shackles.
You are winning ❤
🤞🏾💚
And how to know what you are supposed to do :)
That's crazy being ordered to commit suicide because Nero thinks your going to kill him.............CRAZY!!!!!
Seneca is problematic but I still find him enlightening

I hate social media influencers

How to keep calm? Use keto dieet. Keto calm!
Your background display is a massive stack of books. Maybe you should follow the sage advice to just limit yourself to a handful.

Love your contributions Ryan but the actual tone of your presentation kind of contradicts your intended message.
I find the b-roll of yourself strange…
