This is it!!! Something plain and simple. Because of technical guys I lost 2 hours of audio today because they didn't tell the simple thing. Thanks man.
Thank you SO much for this. This was the only tutorial that teaches you how to record. The user guide isn't great and other RUclipsrs get way too technical. I'm a fan!
Thanks for this! I'd like to add which I had to google - the difference between 'always' and 'backup' recording modes. 'Always' mode records sound from the transmitter even without a connection to the receiver, and only supports uncompressed audio. 'Backup' mode records sound only when there's a connection to the receiver, and supports compressed or uncompressed audio.
Thanks! I purchased this a few weeks ago; besides this fabulous video, what you've added has given me the information to get started. Many thanks to you both.
Honestly, the most straightforward video about this product. Highly recommend! Yes, I want to see how you record on DSLR's and Iphones too. Better yet, do ios and android to include everyone.
I'm embarrassed to admit I don't have a dslr. I've always just used an iPhone. But next up is using this on a Mac, because that is a whole other animal with additional software required because apple is stupid.
Joel you had me giggling and everything, such a friendly voice to guide me through what was turning into quite a frustrating endeavor (but ended up being so simple!). THANK YOU!
I was going crazy after asking my job to spend that much money on mics for the podcasts and NOT FINDING A WAY TO RECORD! Not even talking about the cryptic manual... Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you so much @2:55. I have been looking for this answer to this problem for a while now. The only difference was that the settings symbol was not visible beside the battery symbol. I clicked on the battery symbol and the settings symbol appeared and was visible. I was able to click on it, and turn these on. I have literally been watching videos for hours trying to find the solution, I hope you understand how much grief this has saved me.
After attempting to record my audio multiple times, I suspected a fault with my Wireless GO 2. Your video provided a solution and alleviated my anxiety, I have to switch on record button! 😂
Just received my Rode Go 2 and could not figure out how to record. I read the user guide, but no luck. Thank you so much for this excellent tutorial. Now I'm recording!
Wow. I could not find out how to record using the Rode Instructions. Your tutorial was quick and easy, thanks!! Now I do not have to buy the SC15 cable to record audio when filming with my iPhone.
Thank you for this video. Helpful troubleshooting and you get straight to the point without the pointless yak yak yak. THANK YOU! I am now a subscriber to your channel!
OMG YOU'RE THE BEST!!!! I was ready to throw this device in the trash. For the life of me I couldn't understand the first part. I watched tons of videos teaching everything but this!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! BLESS YOU!!!
this helped thanks, Today on my rode software I have an option for the transmitter's button to start/stop the record. It tells me if i'm recording or not on the reciever. It is nice this way since I have more control
so true every body shouting about how amazing this device is and screaming how awesome it is and explaining how the sound was invented and lead to this magnificent piece of human creation but no one actually tells how to do your FIRST FRICKIN RECORDIGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Joel I couldnt figure out why i had no sound in my video until i watched this video. I used this mic for the first time yesterday recorded a video. I checked it tonight to find no volume on it. like you say all the reviews none of them say you have to switch record on
Thank you so much Joel! I thought that was something that I miss in other tutorials due to language mismatching... Cristal clear! Keep sharing hints! ;-)
Thank you! This was super helpful. I found it so difficult to find information on the Rode website and I'm brand new to the products and recording videos.
thanks for the encouragement! Check out my new video on this, you can just plug the go II into an iPhone and it autosynces your sound. Saves me a ton of time. ruclips.net/video/5EJe4e43qZY/видео.html
Joel, I rarely ever comment on RUclips videos BUT you saved my life!... My recording life that is. And you seemed to have fun while doing it. Are you still using the Rode Wireless Go 2 a year later?
I'm so glad to fine this video. You show us exactly how, you tell us the problem that we didn't thinking about it, I'm the one will be the same with you. No one show me how to do, or may be they did but I didn't catch it, because so many thing that I didn't know it will cause problem. Thank you SO MUCH. I subscribe and follow you already.
finally a video that answered my confusion over how to record the sound on the first place . It's working now and recording sound perfectly but when I am using the lightning cable that can be connected to both receiver and phone, it doesn't record the sound when I take a video on the phone, any clues--?
few questions 1. why should I use self recording instead of just record on camera? 2. how long can they record in them? 3. how much battery will drain when they also selfrecord?
Another quick tip. You don’t necessarily need the receiver to be connected for the transmitters to record. Just power on a transmitter that’s set to always record.. & it’s recording instantly, until you shut it off.
I bought these today. because I need something tomorrow. I'm used to the DJI Mics. I'm returning these POS mics after this shoot and getting the DJI ones
Damn! How is that so hard to include in a video?! Watched like 10 videos and nobody shared that... I was like how does this thing even works! 😅 thank you!!
Yes! Thank You. Rode needs to come out with a software update. Not way should "RECORD" function only be available on iPhone or other computer. Right? Also, Iamnot finding that reding db or padding is reflected oil the input / output audio level indicator. That's silly.
Thank you, you have no idea how helpful this has been. I'm still figuring things out, but had the same concern of HOW do I RECORD? Thank a bunch!! Question, can we delete recordings in the rode central app? I don't see a delete key... Thanks!
you connect the rode mic to your computer with the usb cable that comes packaged with the mic. Then go to the rode mic software and you will see the mic and the recordings that are on it.
Finally, a tutorial that actually tells us how to record!
This makes my day :-)
Thanks. Amazingly simple
@@dreamvr722 Yes, thank you sir. Much appreciated.
honestly dude, these beginner videos always miss out the most important info. Thank you 🙏
This is it!!! Something plain and simple. Because of technical guys I lost 2 hours of audio today because they didn't tell the simple thing. Thanks man.
Thank you SO much for this. This was the only tutorial that teaches you how to record. The user guide isn't great and other RUclipsrs get way too technical. I'm a fan!
This is the most frustrating piece of hardware I've used in a long time. Thank you.
Holy smokes! FINALLY someone who says how to turn on record!!!!
That's a great addition that I just learned from you. Thanks.
Thanks! I purchased this a few weeks ago; besides this fabulous video, what you've added has given me the information to get started. Many thanks to you both.

I see a man who found a problem and solved it. By doing so you helped me out brother. Thank you for your service 💯
Joel you had me giggling and everything, such a friendly voice to guide me through what was turning into quite a frustrating endeavor (but ended up being so simple!). THANK YOU!
I'm glad you got your mic working. Now time for making awesome videos.
You accomplished what so many failed to explain! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
This is the best video for this I’ve seen that shows you exactly how to record with these using only the device. Appreciate it!
Thank you so much!! This is excactly what I needed! The fact that all the other tech channels dosen't show this is just insane!
Well done, after an hour with the experts I still did not know how to record, thanks you.
I was going crazy after asking my job to spend that much money on mics for the podcasts and NOT FINDING A WAY TO RECORD!
Not even talking about the cryptic manual... Thank you so much for this video!
You are very welcome. It is weird everyone in the tech tips industry is so technically proficient that they can't explain simple things.
Damn, I spent two hours stressing over why I can't record with this thing. Lucky to have found this video. Thanks a lot!
Thank you!!! I spent an hour watching a video of a guy showing me how to use these mikes and never said how to press record!
Thank you so much @2:55. I have been looking for this answer to this problem for a while now. The only difference was that the settings symbol was not visible beside the battery symbol. Seeing your 3 cables, glad I have the Rode Pro with case. The tutorial was spot on.
Thank you for this video. Helpful troubleshooting and you get straight to the point without the pointless yak yak yak. THANK YOU! I am now a subscriber to your channel!
Thank you! I couldn't find this information anywhere else, even on the sheet that came in the box.

this helped thanks, Today on my rode software I have an option for the transmitter's button to start/stop the record. It tells me if i'm recording or not on the reciever. It is nice this way since I have more control

The recordings are on the mic once you finish recording? How do you get the recordings off the Rode mic once you record?
you connect the rode mic to your computer with the usb cable that comes packaged with the mic. Then go to the rode mic software and you will see the mic and the recordings that are on it.
THANK YOU!!! You have made my day!!!
