I hate wearing shoes when I play drums, I only wear socks, always using my pedals. The reason is cause the height from the shoes sole really f'cks me up, as I already have my drum thrones at max height. I would have to always have a 3/4" sheet of ply wood under my throne and that would be a pain in the ass

Great video.. personally its barefoot for me ..always..feels way better for me...nothing between foot and pedal...this is closest you can get.....its all subjective tho...as you stated...😁..now..try playing with Wellington boots on🤔
I like using a comfortable but heavy sneaker. Im not playing anything particularly intricate but i do need to project. Extra weight and padding is kinda like a bigger stick for me ✨

I mean you can... but to each their own. I can slide barefoot on iron cobra or yamaha fp9
