  • Today I was at the BCOR in Merrit BC and came across AT who built one of the lightest builds on the market, actually 800 pounds lighter than its nearest competitor. This is a full size Dodge Ram 3500.
    AT Overland is one of the few companies in North America offering a comprehensive Overland fitment center with expert consultation on all things Overland.
    We outfit and modify vehicles, and provide truck toppers, campers, storage solutions, roof tents, heating, cooling, refrigeration and cooking accessories that were not available to the fledgling Overland community in North America when we started 20 years ago.
    We work on many brands and models of vehicles: Jeep, Toyota, Land Rover, Ford, Dodge, and more. The work we do is wide-ranging, from full conversions on USA spec and non-spec vehicles that include roof top tents, roof racks, campers, bumpers, swing-aways, sliders, armor, lights, water, storage, battery management, refrigeration etc. to simple jobs like fitting solar controllers or trouble shooting electrical problems. We also consult with customers and expeditionary teams on vehicle builds to fit their specific needs and requirements. Our staff is well-trained for this type of work, has a broad skill set and have specialists in electronics, mechanics, fabrication, welding and cabinet making.

    Lots of good ideas in this camper. And I like that toilet. I will investigate this.

      Easily one of the most complete, high end and well designed kits I’ve seen

      It's called the Wrappon portable toilet. They run about $1,000 usd. Work very well, though. You need a 12v power source to cycle them. Or, you can add an optional battery pack for use where now 12 power supply is available.

    No passthrough to the cab is a dealbreaker.

      That's an area the designer overlooked. When I built my ProMaster campervan, most people couldn't understand why I was building a partition pass through wall, but as I used the rig, particularly in urban settings, I wouldn't have it any other way. Another benefit of pass through is safety, if you want to get out of trouble you'd need a way to hop on the cab area and drive off without exiting the rig and exposing yourself to a potential danger or becoming a sitting dock.

    the extra space in the middle eaten by spare tire.

    • @MrChadx1
      @MrChadx1 Год назад +2

      That was intentional for this build because there is no other place for a 40" spare tire to "live". They put a 80" long camper on a 8' flatbed so they would have that space and the storage compartment on the flatbed. On a typical build, you would have neither and the camper sits right at the front edge of a 6.5' flatbed.
