The interior looks very functional, but like in many modern campers, it is as cosy as a hospital hallway.
Nice tour, Richard. Man, that sure would look nice on your tundra…
That's pretty sweet, giving me some ideas for my build.
Yep, I can build a better one for less than the $69,000 price !
Amazing set up
I Love this!! ❤️
Great video...well explained. You missed one thing...the secret hidden drawers at the front end of the bed !!
If he would have told everyone, then it wouldn't be a secret! Ha. It is a really cool feature, though.
Please review some soft roaders like the Subaru Outback, RAV4, Nissan Pathfinder, Honda Passport, etc.
Love this camper. The only thing I don’t like is the seating and knee position. I’m guessing Richard is shorter than 5’10” (I am too). When he sits his feet don’t touch the floor. IMO this is really uncomfortable for more than 15 minutes and it seems like the camper was designed for taller people in mind. Some of the other campers like the OEV HBE or FWC Hawk Flatbed have elevated foot rests so that your knees are in a comfortable position while sitting.
So it’s a four wheels with a hard top?
Love it - considering something like this for a full time replacement of my built JKU camper. Only question is for full time winter use - I need to store snowboards and skis and have a way to efficiently dry gear every day. Is the only heater the combi? Can the unit be customized for sub-zero full time living? Thanks!
We use the Truma Varioheat and the on demand Truma Aquago. The Aquago is rated to function to -4F. If you leave the Varioheat set to 42F, everything will remain liquid in the tank, water pump and the batteries at functional temp. If camping below -4F, you'll need to disable to Aquago.
Great camper - but $69,000 starting price?
I’m looking for something just like this, and it said the base model was 69,000. I’m looking to do long trips, and I’m wondering how much it costs with all the options?
Prices, for each of the options, is on their website.
Barry has all the cool stuff. Although he does like my #overlandbulance
Hey Richard - can you expand on your comment about the inside toilet - about how in some countries you need a fully enclosed camper to camp? That’s an interesting comment and something that only comes from someone with true camping experience like yourself and Ashley, and not something you hear about much.
I know of a handful of countries in Europe (New Zealand too?) that allow free camping in certain areas, but require you to have a fully contained camper with an inside toilet. Many places do not have restroom facilities or a spot to dig a hole outside, so you need to take care of your own waste.
How much does it cost?
way too much.
Mpg on tarmac at 65 mph?
Between 14-16 mpg depending upon conditions. The truck has the 6.7 Cummins turbo diesel
@@atoverlandequipment7334 Tnx. I appreciate its awesomeness and even if I could afford it, I couldn’t afford the fuel for a trip around the world.
Very nice. Too bad I oildnt be able to sit up I bed
All the windows around the dining area are too low, who want to have to crane their neck just to look straight out the window or slightly up a the sky to see an impending storm coming. The sink is too small to do dishes especially with a larger pan or serving plater. This may be great for up to a long weekend or 5 days, but the mini appliances, small water capacities, likely small battery capacity, and lack of space would get old real quick. Definitely not something to live full time in.
What the hell is "dual sport" on a truck?? I know what it is on a bike
That’s just what AEV calls it. Now what that really means in terms of performance/function who knows. Probably just marketing mumbo-jumbo.

Nobody tolerates a time-waster.
Waaaaayyyyyy overpriced! $76,000 base price, insane! Plenty of nice truck campers on the market equally as nice at half the cost.
