    As a peruvian I'm glad someone is talking about Stephany, her story is usually overlooked.
    I remember this case, the local news victim shamed her so badly and her father had to fight really hard to clean her name and get justice, it was outrageous.
    Also, the way you talk about my country and my city is really accurate, it's a beautiful place with terrible politicians that care more about making money than the people they are supposed to serve.

    It is unfortunate that in the end we still have to always rely on the statement of the perpetrator on what actually happened. She may have never looked into his laptop. He may have just killed her because she didn't want to do what he wanted or just because he got off on killing her. Sometimes the autopsy tells a bit of what may have really happened but in the end it will often remain a mystery and we have to remind ourselves that the story of the killers are likely to be completely made up.

    This story is truly chilling because the murderer doesn't seem to have a motive; perhaps he is just so much more powerful than women that any physical dispute quickly became a murder just to evade jail time for assault. What's sick is that he kept leveraging the location of Natalie's body for money and less jail time and her parents don't get either justice or to bury their daughter. Aruba must be completely corrupt.

      @erinmagner 6 месяцев назад +7

      @@KimVerhaaff That's interesting because it should have been pretty easy to steal her money and not commit more serious crimes. I was thinking about the Vegas shooter that also had a gambling addiction but no one could understand why he turned to murder. Gambling is an impulse control problem and casinos intentionally try to create gambling problems. There must be some connection between that part of the brain and a will to commit murder, not just acting on every impulse.

    • @KimVerhaaff
      @KimVerhaaff 6 месяцев назад +4

      @@erinmagner I didn't know that he also had a gambling problem. That is interesting. I'm not sure it's easy to take money from someone who doesn't want to give it though. Also, he had gotten away with it before. I'm sure in Joran's head he was just going to leave and nobody would know. I do agree casino's should be more careful. So so many people kill for money, gambling money. They won't though. Sadly. That's how they make their billions. And they really dont care about what happens to those who gamble.
