Times worldwide are hard and just keep getting harder. It is so satisfying to get your new home updates and feel positive when viewing them. Thanks. Remember, way back when, at the old location when you took time to rant about why you prep and why you both were striving to be debt free? Economic troubles - they were a coming! We have much to learn and you are role models for young and older everyday people. Again, thanks.
Never apologize because you didn't film something. Thank you for filming what you have done so far. We know it is tedious and adds more work to your day to document each and every step. Thank you for taking us along with you as you build your home. It's looking good and I can't wait until we see a finished home!
My mom has those same French doors on her house the went through hurricane Katrina and had water over half way up the doors inside and out and those doors still work wonderfully!
I know you probably think things are moving slowly but your progress has been amazingly fast. I think that is the result of your excellent planning. You really have thought out things well. Can't wait to see the decks.
Jaime and Jeremy, this is so exciting, every time I drop by it looks like your house has come on in leaps and bounds! Amazing work you are all doing - thank you for sharing the journey with us.
There is an add on that you can get to achieve the same. They clip over the raise framework on the doors creating a glass sealed blind AND you do not need to change your door.
Love ICF concept! Wish more people would use them. I live in Germany, mostly all concrete homes. Over here the windows are set in about half way between the opening of the walls. Doors are set either half way or flush with the inside opening of the wall. They mount the frame first then set the window/doors into the frame. They have a mounting hold in the middle of the frame to mount into the concrete. Great system. I'm replacing my windows and doors in 2 to 3 months ( waiting on them to be built). for 21 windows and 1 door I'm runs about $29,000. Stuff is expensive in Germany.
You are such a hard worker and are doing a really great job. The home is turning out beautiful. You are so even tempered. Take it as it comes. That is a wonderful trait. I absolutely love where you located the home the view is killer! The wall of windows is amazing! It was so sad when you were in town and your wife just wanted the peace, tranquility of homesteading and the neighbors had to mess you all up. But everything happens for a reason. We moved onto 80 acres when I was twelve. It was a great childhood. But then I moved back to town after high school and got married. 16 years of marriage my husband died in a freak accident. I never remarried and recently inherited the old homestead. It had not been worked in years and everything is falling apart. The tractor is not running or I would love to have a garden. It is all on me and all I can do just to keep the roads open with a riding lawn mower and a tiny battery operated chain saw. I so badly want to move out there and have chickens, goats a couple of hogs and a couple of cows. But would like to start with goats to help clear all of the briars that are starting to take over. It is subtropical so everything grows unbelievably fast. It is a handful with the tractor not running. The fuel pump needs rebuilding . On it. Something I know nothing about. My can do’s can’t keep up with my want to’s as my father always said. It makes it a whole lot nicer and easier when you have a partner to help out with homesteading. You and your family seem to be working very well together. It’s a great move to get not only yourselves but especially kids out into the country. They do learn very important skills and life lessons that the will not learn anywhere else. I really enjoy watching you all. I’m glad you all have been able to make all of the ends meet and stay above water! God bless and keep you all healthy and happy! That is the main ingredient for sure.
It seems like so long ago now that the basement was just completed and it now finally has a door. Love it! Sounds like y'all had some good news on your special order windows so congratulations on that! I am excited to see the deck go in. I will forever be envious of your view! So pretty.
The doors look great. It's all coming together. It's got to feel great that your vision is coming into reality. All of your hard work is paying off. The best to you an the family.

....soooo quiet inside, it is really coming together with all the great work you all have done so far. I DO love the inside blindes, I remember always cutting my fingers up badly while cleaning them. Wishing you luck with the missing windows coming in time.

So glad this is coming right along! It amazes me how excited I am for you when I don't know you. 😂. But y'all work hard and have delayed your own gratification for a while for this.
It's so satisfying when doors fit so nice as those did for you guys. I've worked on a few back in the day and they can be nightmares. Everything's looking great Jeremy!!
We built our homestead our self, and are still working on it 9 years later! We had the same problem with doors in thick frames. The world is just not ready for thick houses yet I guess 😊
Our house is looking good... makes me want to crochet a couple of Cape / Afghans to just hang around for snuggling... so pretty. You have learned so much and are learning all the contacts, you could have a great future as a sight manager for other grid / off grid house builders...
I am feeling excited for you guy's!!! I live in a mobile home and wish one day we could have a small home. I am ok if I can't though... I love watching your progress ❣❣❣

How exciting. It's wonderful to feel the quiet when you can shut a door!
My mom has those same French doors on her house the went through hurricane Katrina and had water over half way up the doors inside and out and those doors still work wonderfully!

I love the blinds. Very clever idea!
Amazing how doors & windows instantly change the feel of a space. Feeling more like a home each week!
Those are slick doors with the blinds in between glass panes! NO DUSTING the blinds!!!!
There is an add on that you can get to achieve the same. They clip over the raise framework on the doors creating a glass sealed blind AND you do not need to change your door.
Love all the doors and windows! So much light is uplifting to the spirit.
