My Great-Great Grandfather came from Leitrim His name was John Cornelius Glancy he was the son of Bernard Glancy. Great-Great John came to America in 1865 fought in the American civil war on the Union side in the Navy. Leitrim looks beautifully and peaceful
The Leitrim County Council should have saved their money from making this and fixed some of the roads in the county. 300,000 people living there, have they ever been to Leitrim??
@jackno16 OK i missed that but i still believe that number is highly exaggerated especially with the high emigeration rate and the large amount of people who have moved to Dublin and other larger cities in search of work
Judging by the pathethic language used here by people who judges Leitrim. What I would like to know is where these people are from and can they praise their county of origin - are they just saying they dont like anything? I;m glad I wont be bumpimg into these people whenever I visit Leitrim.....3 cheers for our County and tough to those who discredit it!

As you may have noticed from my username i am from Leitrim and i am proud of it and i am one of the thousands of people who had to emigrate to ensure a steady job and a brighter future. But the line "Yer all very quick to dismiss Leitrim's potential!" is crazy and if you think that a county that is full of empty houses, no jobs and a very poor economy has potential your delusional!

In 2016 Leitrim had a population of 32,000 🤣 not 300,000
