A lot of it is new to me although I went from commercial growing in the 1970s to reviving ridge making here in West Cork on RUclips. See Grow Smart Ireland. Would like to hear from you.
Thank you for this, sir. My father was born in 1907 and raised in Newtowngore and I'm very sure he did much of what you show us in this video.
fantastic knowledge, thanks for sharing

Very reminiscent of days gone by.

What a wholesome video. Thanks for sharing John. Hope to see more!
Thank you for educating me.
I've heard so much about the Irish and potatoes...It's almost impossible to say one without the other...
Great programme
Please comment on condition of ponies hooves
A great bit of ploughing John, a good day for the job,
U didn't have any why Boyled bacon with you 😢
That donkey's hooves are in a terrible condition.. and you can tell that the worst front bits were hacked off.
The animal badly needs a farrier to trim them.
It's cruelty to have him working in that condition.
Unfortunately too many donkeys in Ireland are neglected that way causing them totally unnecessary suffering.
Who sings this beautiful song?
John could you not get the donkey's hooves trimmed for the video. I'm from Kiltubrid
Supprised the pure bastard can even walk
It's the true state of the way he keeps the donkey.. they should be cut so the animal can walk properly without pain and not just for a video.. it's cruelty to leave the hooves in that condition... and then to ask the animal to work with them like that.. appalling..
Didn't see many men in a white shirt putting spuds in .
What’s the name of the song at the beginning.
Horses and Plough by Colm O’Donnell
Love this. Wonder what kind of sandwich the plowmen ate most of the time? If that is tea, has it got steam in it...just asking, I'm in Texas but I have scot irish ancestry.
Everybody's on here praising this video.
Have you looked at the poor donkeys feet 🙈
Good lord, trim them hooves you mackerel!😢
