Think of all the controversial comedians who came before but never wrote the line, "I don't know why you are getting so offended. I'm the one who has to die alone."
They never needed to. They were able to say controversial shit and win the audience back over.
@Matias Martinez If she never lost them, then it's not controversial by definition. So you disagree with the OP.
Second of all, what she said doesn't win the crowd back in light of her statements, it walks her statement back. Sort of like lessening her impact. Winning the crowd back is when you say something ridiculous, the crowd balks and then you pull them around to your side.
Lastly, and you agree with me on this, her statements weren't controversial, which shows that part of her act is comment on the audience's "offense" as a way to drive her performance. Which is transparent as crap.
I don't know why we hold women comedians to a lesser standard then male comedians. The best female comedians can't hold a light to the best male comedians.
@@Rundvelt I saw your replies to other comments and I had a feeling you're one of those misogynistic 'alpha male' types who thinks men and women have distinctive 'social roles'.
And you are all of those. I hope you have a terrible day.
@@psark That's the typical response from someone who's been told that men and women are exactly the same and hasn't bothered to think about it.
Tell me, what is misogynistic about women having preferences? And by the by, the overwhelming majority of women want men who are confident, successful, which are traditional male gender roles. So are they misandric?

Come on no replies 🤣🤣🤣
What does it mean? Sex is allowance?
This is comedic genius. It’s a turn on how some guys say “you know how they get when it’s about the time they get their period” about women. Well she takes that and plays likes she’s emasculating the man because she makes the money and she gives him a monetary allowance once a month like a little child would get from their parents.
@@boshengjones1778 allowance is financial control - There are men who earn the money in their family (or decide that they should), and so they say how much their wife is allowed to spend and when she gets it. It happened to my mother even though she had her own job - my dad would insist that it was his job to manage the family finances, and her job to take care of the kids, clean the house etc. If she wanted to do something like buy a new car, it had to be put in his name and would legally be one of his assets.
That part absolutely sent me into laughter it was played so well
She has some a-tier nonverbal communication skills. The body language is on point and sells every joke.

She has great stage presence. She looks seasoned but I’ve never heard of her until recently.
She's been on the Self Helpless podcast for years.
SERIOUSLY! Was she on Joe Rogan’s podcast already?!
Only found her a couple days ago. I was looking at some other comedy videos and one of hers popped up so I've watched several. Already in my list of favourite comedians.
A problem with comedy, even when in the same language, is some of it doesn't travel well. There's the odd item I don't get - I'm in Scotland.
Thats because she's not that funny.
@J K there there, here's a hug for you.
Its funny because she's not even telling jokes, honesty is key.
Actually she is not funny at all, and I have very low standards for comedy.

@Carolina Hernandez so let me get this straight: you guys can have your opinion that she isn't funny but I can't have mine? Look at you privileged fuckheads. I don't give a fuck about her or the comedy this is just a random video I stumbled upon. But this is a perfect example of how stupid people are and how they think about themselfs.
@Carolina Hernandez Yeah but not because I don't respect his opinion but because I think I know the reason why he felt the need to descripe it that way from a psychological point of view. This is not about sexism or me trying to defend this comedian. I just found it funny that he got so triggered by her roast on beta males that he needed to express himself by telling everyone that this isn't even enough for LOW standards. Thats all Carolina.
As a stay at home dad, I'm torn on whether to share this with my wife or not, but I think I have to share it. Taylor is just too damned funny.

Well would you look at that

The passive aggressive jokes are my fave
She's my favorite female comedian for sure. As a bonus, she's gorgeous for sure but she's talented and that's what got her to where she is today not just because she's attractive.
@J K passive aggression is a reaction both men and women express. Saying it's only women that use this type of comedy just means you have not seen enough comedy. Relax my friend, watch more comedy.

I like to think of Taylor as the female John Mulaney: Nowhere NEARLY as wholesome as she looks
I call bs
Yeah but that's about it with the similarities. They have very different sense of humor and delivery. I see her more as an aged down Iliza Schlesinger who still hasn't quite figured out what she wants (as a character at least, I can't know how she's like irl)

@@Jayce.Raphael But he does cuss a lot for a guy who looks like a 1940's news anchor

The physicality of Taylor's delivery is fantastic. Continuously enhancing the jokes but not in a forced way like a lot of comics are.
Shes Carbon copy of famous Finnish comedian Sami Hedberg. Exact same mannerisms and delivery. It’s great!
Yeah, Tomlinson is hardly noticeable with her delivery. Then any time I see Iliza Shlesinger I feel like I'm just watching some hot chick who really had to practice the theory because she's genetically never been required to be funny.
Stand up is my absolute favorite type of comedy, I've seen maybe 100+ stand ups live including 99% of the most well known ones of the last 20yrs and this girls material and most important delivery is just outstanding! She really stands out for me as one of the best new comedians I've seen in years.
I've seen this bit about ten times and it still makes my abs hurt from laughing. I love Taylor.
She is hilarious. She is good in reversing stereotypical male and female roles
I mean I guess. It kind of bores me listening to similar punchlines one after another from comedian to comedian. Female comedians in particular, in this case, she is clever with some of her writing though. Just felt the delivery was off for me.
@@MinnWasTaken than watch something that's not boring to you 😊
She is just expounding how the modern trash woman actually thinks.
@@TheScamr the humor lies in the double standard. If you missed that it's probably because you've never had to think critically about the traditional role of a wife and how she shoulf give up any dreams she had or not have any in the first place in order to support her husband. That's why it's funny particularly to women. It's cathartic to joke about how men would act if the roles were reversed. Your just mad because women don't dedicate their entire life to serving their husband's anymore, and you can die mad about it.
@@MinnWasTaken I literally JUST saw another female comedian doing the exact same bit. (Tammy something...)
She is an incredibly polished comedian for her age.

There's a genius to Taylor's comedy. She is an incredibly talented speaker as well. Her special is more like a documentary in real time.

Some people often say female comedians aren't very good...my response is always to point them to Taylor as an example. She is a top tier example of a really good contemporary comedian, we're just too conditioned to be served mediocre or plain bad crap we're expected to like in the name of "diversity". @Messily don’t feel bad. I was the main caregiver in my marriage while my wife followed her employment dreams. I loved raising our three kids, best thing I ever did. I feel chronically ill around the same time we had our last kid, and my then wife divorced me as she didn’t want to spend the rest of her life with a chronically ill husband who not only raised the kids, but had also been working a full time job too doing night shifts. When I had to stop working due to my illness, she told me I was nothing more than a “glorified childminder” to her. During the divorce she thought she’d get the kids, but they all came with their disabled dad. I’m now a single dad still raising two of my kids (the eldest has struck out on his own) and I don’t have a single regret.
