Howard Stern sent me. Said Moe was boring on Mike Douglas. Is he kidding me? Im hanging on every word. This guy is full of life love it!
Adam Adams thanks for that comment, I totally agree
Adam Adams I know me too stern is a shock factor hack
Jimymac I think the same too anyone who grew up with he stooges knows the talent exhibited here
Stern can be boring.
Jimymac he is kidding
The 3 Stooges were an original and will never be imitated or replaced. The very definition of legends.
The Faraley brothers did amazingly well with their modern rendition of the three stooges in their movie. This is due to him having all of the actors watch all 200 shorts.
AWW when Moe comes his hair and they zoom in and he smiles He looks just like my grandpa. May he Rest in peace. miss you grandpa.
I was fortunate enough to grow up on the Three Stooges and watched it with my Dad, who actually has a framed hand written letter from Moe proudly displayed on his wall. They were comic geniuses and their stuff holds up to this day! Moe's autobiography is essential reading, as it is witty and charming and very well written. Thanks for sharing this!
Thank you Mike Douglas for having Moe on your show. It's neat to see him as a real person.
Greatness! I remember when Moe was interviewed on KBSC channel 52 in LA about 1975. He was a wonderful guest and he told the most amazing tales of the early days of the act. I had an audio copy but I lost it long ago.
I had no idea he was on Mike Douglas and this was like finding a long, lost treasure. Many thx for loading this!
Two amazing Icons from a time that we will never ever see again Ever PERIOD!!!!!
you know, he's the one that supported the others when they where in troubles, was like a father when needed and had to see his lifetime friends go one by one. I have so much respect for that unique man
I love Moe, Larry, Shemp and Curly. No one compares to these guys!
Rest in peace Moe Howard
Hanging on every word Moe you were Amazing
wow!!!!! this is amazing. moe like I never scene him before. I hope all generations to come keep the three stooges alive
Its so great that he kept that hairstyle to the end!
Does it seem like he was trying to ignore the guy on his left?
Moe didn't mention that he owned the barbershop.
@@markcadieux3445 wow you're right. Hardly looks at him. Sad
@Ken Si He created the look himself as a small child.
His mother adored his wavy locks & couldn't bring herself to cut them, until he became the brunt of severe bullying at school over it...
So one day he came home, age 5 or 6, went into his room alone with a scissors & cut off his own hair around in a circle, leaving what would become known as his trademark "sugar bowl" haircut, which in a way was the original "Beatle cut"!
"Moe-hair"!
Moe had a of his senses. Able to recall quickly. It's like he didn't miss a beat from his younger days. They are truly missed
The pie gag never gets old it still cracks me up
No matter how much they try, there will never, ever, ever be another 3 Stooges. It will never be duplicated. You cannot duplicate excellence.
Moe said this was the proudest moment of his marriage with Helen. bless him!
Most would say their wedding day or when their child was born. Moe... when she pied him!
Rip Larry, meo, shemp, and curly.
Moe, god bless ya. You were my favorite. Love ya Moe.
YIKES! when Moe combed back his hair, he looked just like his brother Shemp!
Truly geniuses of comedy, The Three Stooges will always give me a source of powerful energy, inspiration, and laughter.
like that
jimymac1
Power Keg Greg .....ur right .....brilliantly clean comedy.....RIP Stooges
+Power Keg Greg - If you haven't seen it, check out their short MEN IN BLACK. They actually got an Oscar nomination for it. It actually reminded me a lot of The Marx Brothers.
Exactly! I was born in 1984 and grew up watching the Stooges from vhs tapes my pops had. I loved them then and now. Truly the greats.
As a kid, i can remember running home from school, the school let out at 2:50 pm. I had to be home by 3:00 to catch the beganing of the show. Didn't miss a day of it. It brings back good memories to watch them again. They were so ahead of their time. RIP my funny friends still, a lot's of laughs in 2016.
running home from school - LOL I lived 15 miles from school.(uphill both ways) then 2 or 3 hours of chores, didn't get much tv in but loved the stooges, 2nd to Laurel & Hardey
moes the best!! I used to argue with my dad about what we watched on tv but when the stooges were on we didnt have to argue LOL
This is so crazy, I've never seen any of the stooges outside of the actual episodes.......to hear moe talking outside of the show is crazy.....
Rip Moe. The three stooges are my favorite comedy team. Nyuk nyuk nyuk 😅😂🤣 thanks for posting this.
When Moe started talking about the old days people all around him would hush and give him their undivided attention and center stage. He found that people were starving for that inside into their lives and he really liked telling the stories. Moe had a huge heart.
Thank you Moe. You helped me through some dark days.
Damn, Moe was fit in his old age.
Yeah was. Really sad that we lost Curly and Shemp so young
I believe Curly joe out lived them all.
Moe died not much after this of lung cancer. If it wasn't for that he probably would have lived to be 110 and doing those moves. Oh well he lived a good life and now almost 90 years later we still laugh our asses off.! He had already started looking thinner by now.
Michael Hungate At one point in the interview, after he was on the floor, you can hear how out of breath he was trying to talk with Mike.
That’s unfortunate because he was unable to breathe because he had lung cancer
I wish Moe Howard and the other Stooges would have been interviewed in a much more professional setting. They were truly masters of comedy. There will never be another Three Stooges. Thanks for making us laugh so much.
This was so awesome!! Moe was so so humble!! Michael was so respectable to Moe!! The guy sittin next to Moe Shoulda kept his mouth shut!!
Larry." Hey, don't throw that plate!" Moe. "Why not?" Larry. "Cause it's got a crack in it!"
I'm so glad that every new generation that comes along gets to experience the 3 Stooges and inevitably falls in love with them as I did in the 1960s. Their comedy is timeless and they're well-loved all over the world. No one could ever take their places. Here's to you, guys!!!
When Douglas suggested Moe go over and give his wife a kiss you knew she had a pie ready to go.
Thank you sooo much for uploading this rare clip Jimy! I had no idea this existed. I love the Three Stooges!
your welcome
I remember thinking when I was a kid, that Moe and Shemp looked alot alike.I did not know they, and Curly were brothers, back then.
terry ferguson Me too! I started watching them as a teen when I realized that Moe And Shemp so I thought maybe they were cousins. Then I found out they were brothers along with Curly and are from Brooklyn like me!
Quality Television for a change!!!
Oh, wow, I remember this episode when it aired! Thanks for the great memories.
Amazing the old videos that make their way here. Thanks so much for posting this!
your welcome
I just love this so much. I mean... wouldn't have been great to meet Moe Howard? Moe's old-lady hits him with a pie. I'm laughing so hard!
Thanks for posting this it took me back to the days of great TV!!!
I wish I could go back in time and meet every one of the three stooges. Especially Curly cuz' he was and still is my favorite.
This was a great post. It brings me back to my youth!
I remembered seeing this as a six year old stooge fan. I took a chance and the mighty You Tube comes thru again. Thankyou for posting this!!!!! Long live the kings!!
Thank God for You Tube keeping these legend alive
Gracias por traer este hermoso recuerdo de mi niñez!
Desde Argentina! Thank You!
That was a beautiful set-up on Mike's part! Just the kind of special moment that he arranged on many of his shows!
Both Mike & Moe had class by the trailertruck load!
I wanted to see this soooo bad when I saw the promos for it back in the day. But, it aired when I was in school and I couldn't get home in time to see but the last 2 minutes of it. Now, 35 years later, I finally got to see it. I would've considered it an honor to be the recipient of a Moe Howard slap! Thanks for posting this.
THANKS FOR POSTING THIS !! Good information about Curley improvizing when he forgot his lines
Moe, what a kindly old gent, really softened up from his acting days.
Thanks so much for posting this. These are my comedic heroes and I didn't know this existed. They were the kings
My grandfather who grew up in the 30's-50's use to always carry a comb JUST like that in his front pocket. he is still alive too in his late 80's and still has a full head of hair, and still has that comb. man i love the three stooges, honestly class acts... and talent.
Great actor. I am watching many of your shows n laughing like anything
There will never be talent like that ever again.. True talent..
That's greatness !
This is priceless. Thanks
omg a trip down memory lane...true comedy!!
Comedy Gold---grateful to these up loaders for all these vintage videos. The Three Stooges, Abbot & Costello, The Marx brothers, etc...
Thanks for posting these, I watched all of the Moe Howard clips, I found this to be better then anything on TV today. These great shows should shown, no good programming anymore on TV
Charles Messina thanks for watching tell your friends
I loved the Stooges....everyone of them....and...They still make me laugh....god bless their souls.....
Absolutely wonderful.
I'm too young to remember the Mike Douglas show, but I still enjoy it. I particularly enjoy this episode, featuring Moe Howard, of the Three Stooges fame.
NO ONE TODAY CAN COMPARE TO THE CALIBER & QUALITY OF THIS ERA OF COMICS !!!!!!
I can tell you he looked absolutely gorgeous ;)
He went from Moe to Shemp with the swipe of his comb!
Thanks for posting!!! This made my day :)
God bless you Moe. Thanks for all the laughs.
moes a short guy, never knew that.
Thanks for posting the clip up on youtube. Great to see Moe how he was in real life.
You can measure a man's brilliance by his sense of humor. Moe was a genius. Thank you, sir.
There's only one Moe Howard!
👍
A true legend...and how the legend will never die. not even in our hearts.
What a shame we don't have good television like this any more. These days if a celebrity appears on a show it is to plug something they are doing. Back then a group of stars could just have a good time together. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.
SOO COOL ...
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER 3 STOOGES ACT...COMEDY THAT WILL EVER COME CLOSE .
Amazing, what a trooper , man doing acts and comedy at that age. RIP, moe
Moe Howard explains the problems that his brother Curly had at remembering his lines, how to do proper slaps and pokes on stages and the silver screen & how to do a cream pie fight.
Moe Howard was THE man. He is still one of the kings of comedy to ever bless our lives. RIP Moe, we still miss you!
It looks like they were having such fun!
I swear, as a kid, I saw this as it first aired on TV. I remember thinking "wow, that's Moe. He's an old guy now." I only wish Curly would have given interviews...he only did a handful in his career and they're impossible to find. A true comic genius. All The Three Stooges indeed worked very hard their whole career but it's pretty apparent Curly had no idea what a gift he had.
NOBODY will ever come close to the genius that was the Three Stooges! Back in their hay day they worked for pennies (sadly under paid). If they were around today, they'd be billionaires.
Moe & The Three Stooges Are The Best !!!!!!!! Thanks for keeping us laughing !
this was a very intresting interview and video thanks for posting
Moe Howard appearances on The Mike Douglas Show in 1973,, Moe, despite his age here, was in great form as he
chatted with Mike about Three Stooges History and recreated classic Stooges Moments.. Moe passed away peacefully 4 May 1975 r.i.p
This is a great upload!
Classic humor, classic acts form a classic comedian.
Oh man, that was great!
God bless Moe, Curly, Shemp & Larry!!!
Just wonderful
Damn Moe pied all of them without getting hit once then his wife paid him back. Priceless
I remember seeing Moe on Mike Douglas! Moe talked about his "good aim" when throwing pies. He said, he was so precise, that he threw most of the pies except for the ones that were thrown at HIM!
It's MOE!!!! What mo can I say?????!!!
awesome footage... thx 4 sharing
Thanks for posting this great video!! But, wheres part one??
Wow what a great comedian he was. Back to when you didn’t have to be vulgar to make people laugh. I’m sitting here on the train heading home with a big smile on my face. Moe,Larry and Curly R.I.P. you are still making us laugh.
Rod Terrell right on brother
Moe was still pretty agile by doing that "snake" bit.
One of the greatest guys of comedy. Moe Howard, we still miss ya, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.
I never knew when I was watching the 3 stooges back in the early 70's on TV that Moe and Larry were still alive. But I was in my early teens and didn't think about that much. I just knew I loved watching those old films
I could tell Mike Douglas was embarrassed over Moe getting down in the floor like that but That what I like about him, he didn't mind to get dirty for a laugh. He loved to entertain people as did his brothers. God bless him and I hope they all rip.
Moe was from a different time period. Mike being embarrassed is irrelevant.
That's what it was all about for Moe. Anything to get a laugh he'd do it.
To the Three Stooges. They we're best.
Oh god bless Moe Howard and Mike douglas. R.I.P guys
I grew up watching these geniuses. I keep watching them.
those guys were hilarious, i watched them growing up, from 6 years +
