To be honest I heard her new album a while back and was like wtf is this , but one day I was so stressed out from work and this came up on my suggestion and it changed my view on it . Love it now .
For me this is her weakest album among melodrama and pure heroin. I mean there's no really stand out songs.
I know I wasn't feeling her album and I came back today and it hit me different. This album was dropped ahead of its time.

I'm an avid lucid dreamer (so yes, I fly or do whatever I want in my dreams) and this song is just derivative garbage. Her older stuff wasn't my favorite, but at least it was more honest than this poppy BS.

I love to put this album after a day of surfing... I know this didn't done the same numbers as her past works but that's because it only can be felt by beach people you know... I love Solar Power, people were not ready for this amazing era. Mainstream culture can fuck off. Lorde presented us with an amazing sound, amazing theme, fantastic cinematography, a giant respect for the world and for art and authenticity even when you are a massive pop star. Dont change her.

Even if Lorde wasn’t mainstream and wa shuts some underground artist nobody has heard of, Solar Power would still be a pretty bad album. There’s a lot of potential there, but the songs are incredibly boring and hard to get through.

It is so different from MELODRAMA. So "sunny", so bright, so happy, so feel-good. MELODRAMA instead was "dark", her voice rough and scratchy, liked that.
But after hearing Solar Power again and again, I start to really love some of the tracks, as "Solar Power", "Mood Ring" and "Oceanic Feeling".
What I still really dislike, is that there is not CD available by intent. I am "old school" and an audiophile, I want perfect sound quality on CD and some jewel case to put into my shelf.
Im starting to feel that way, disliked this album at first but its been growing on me lately
