    The best thing about eating Japanese food, for me, is the opportunity to have small morsels of a variety of foods. Instead of just sitting down to a full-size meal, which features one main food with something on the side.

    • @Emeraldwitch30
      @Emeraldwitch30 3 года назад +3

      I agree. I love to sit and have a whole plate of little bits and bites of different things. Whether its Japanese or Chinese or Mexican to Italian lol. Like to have a lot of different flavors and textures.

    Usually I go to 7/11 when in Tokyo. It's so convenient that they also have an ATM that works with a lot of non Japanese bank accounts. Mostly I buy small things, like side dishes, onigiri, ce cream and the sweets (and occasionally a cup of coffee) but on the day we arrive we always get a bento, since it is easy.

    • @dennistani1986
      @dennistani1986 3 года назад +1

      Good point on the 7-11 ATM's. You can use their ATM's to withdrawel funds from many USA bank accounts. The exchange rate is very good and the fees are pretty low. The only other ATM that works is Japan Post office ATM's. take care!!

    • @tamara4557
      @tamara4557 3 года назад +1

      @@dennistani1986 true but the exchange rate at the post office is higher in recent years and in burier areas it's easier to find the 7/11 :) and it's about 5 minutes walk from the house I usually rent so easy for me

    It will never cease to amaze me that you can get such good quality, nourishing, inexpensive food at 7-11 (and other convenience stores) in Japan. As you said, Shinichi, I love bento because there's so much variety in one meal. All the bento you chose looked delicious. Are there pre-made vegan bento in conbini as a rule? I'd love to have a bento with rice, (vegan) korokke, nishime, tsukemono, and fried tofu. YUM! And speaking of yummy, that's how you both look in your blue shirts. 😊

    The quality, the variety and the price of Japanese bentos are just so amazing. There is an asian restaurant near me in the U.S. that serves nice bento dishes but they cost about $15- $20 and a 300 ml Aizu Homare strawberry nigori sake(yum!) for $16 😫 but I bite the bullet anyway because I just want to taste the foods from Tabi Eats😄.
