Almost all companies use an ATS system, which works best with the usual resume format. If you use a different format, it might be harder for your resume to get through the ATS system. You should have addressed that?

Hello Alisa, Great information and insight. After seeing your videos I want to make a switch to product management.
I am working in IT for the last 20 years in various roles. Started with QA and gradually moved into solutions, and currently working as a solution manager. In my role, I meet with the clients and get the requirements and do the gap analysis with our product(it's been there for the last 20 years) and document the needed changes, plan it for a release, and work with my engineering team to develop it, test it, and goto UAT to my clients for sign-off and release. Do you think my current role fits as a product manager?

Thanks Alisa for creating this video.
I am wondering If I can get your thoughts on this - I recently discovered product management but my impression so far is that I can be paid well (sweet sweet tech salary), don't need to code, don't need any special certifications/MBA/MS Computer Science (or any specific degrees for that matter) or specific experiences.
Seems too good to be true. Wondering if I am missing something?

Alisa, great content and insights in such a short video!
I have a case/questions you may be the right person to answer or consult. Do do I get in touch with you?

You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off you. --Maya Angelou,..,.

Do you think a Product Owner certification would be suitable to bolster my resume or would Scrum be a better alternative?

That’s a great question!! I would recommend a product owner cert over scrum.. You could learn a lot for free online about scrum and the scrum cert might not help as much in getting hiring managers’ attention.

I agree about cover letter, but how you can be passionate about 20 different jobs a day?;) and how do you think is it necessary to write cover letter on incoming inquiries about the job?

Ha I'd say it would be very hard to be passionate about 20 jobs in one day 😂 The main sentiment is that if you do really want a job, then you should write a cover letter - if you're more passive about it, then maybe it's not worth it! And if people are reaching out to you, then I think you're already going to land that first round, cover letter or not!
