It has been 10 months now - and the cement epoxy mix is still holding BUT - It has cracked considerably - It is still filling the 'hole' It was put in - but i dont see this lasting another year. Ill probably have to redo it in the near future. I think the layer i put down is too thin to be a long term solution.
Your video was the second video for "rapid patch concrete". I clicked because I knew your other channel. But quite the timing as I scrolled down after you said you'd pin a comment in the future... and it was 58 minutes ago.
My buddy got a bag of cement mix off eBay it was a 2or 4 pound bag so he didn't have to buy a full bag of ready creat or whatever it is called and he just poured the cement powder into the hole and added the water to it and has had zero issues. I hope this helps I know bad grammar and spelling sorry I hope this helps you though
Would be easier to get some extra concrete and cut a little but the Crack that is, and make sure that the natural poor gap is maintained for heat expansion
For patching holes, this is great. To get a uniform look however is a much more difficult job. Still, even for a regular homeowner, this is pretty awesome given how simple it is. Id love to see more homeowner based content from Zach actually. Would be pretty neat, like resealing windows, door cracks, rebalancing doors, etc. Keep it up Zach!
not quite sure how it's better than bog standard Portland cement + sand (and gravel). -10C cement is ubiquitous too. Perhaps curing time only. $12 is like 100kg (200+lbs) of ready mix (just add water)
this genuinely feels like "I haven't found a video like this when I bought this product and I would have loved to have one so.. i'll just create it." and it's awesome.
although peoplpe in practice to do this when pooring concrete to save on costs its generaly not that good to do it if the sruface will be under constant stress. In this case as you can see a wheele lands exactly there so if you put stones or gravel it will make it weak and it will crack much faster over time.
@@evictioncarpentry2628 I am not a native speeker. I understood that the gravel would be poored before the cement mix. Yes when you mix concrete you put ether sand or gravel. But you never fill a hole fist with gravel and then put the mix
Used to do concrete patch and repair for a living. This is one of the better DIY patching videos I've seen. The biggest mistake people make with patching is they don't clean the spot well enough and they don't use water or a bonding agent (the white stuff) you did both almost perfectly so I'd expect that patch to last a long time!
Nice fix Mr. Home Owner! Smart to get that taken care of. I used that Sika Flex on my steel building- high grade stuff to keep water from getting into cracks an frost wedging it.

Hey Jerry I do this a living. I am in the bricklayer's union Local 9. I am a PCC(pointer, caulker and cleaner) in Pittsburgh. If it cracks again use a silicone caulking (dow corning 790) and some backer rod.
Sika is very renowned for automotive adhesives, more specifically Sikaflex, a polyurethane glue. Chances are if you own a car, especially an European one there's some part in it glued with a Sika adhesive.
The gap between the slabs seems a bit wide if the wheels happened to align going over it, it might not allow for correction especially if she's a bit faster going down. Might have poured the rest over it too.
Elmers glue has been used as a fortifier in concrete for some time. If anyone is looking for an even cheaper alternative to concrete repair. Cool video, the mix bag reminds me of the new post setting bags they have now.
Love to see some love for Sika. You also could use the more classic "Sika Grought" - it will flow a bit better and needs 1-2 Days to dry - but is way cheaper - and you could fix a much bigger area (like the crack further down :P ) Also a nice thing, Sika Flex - "concrete in caul form" - also available in concrete grey ;) Greets from Austria - where we get this brand in most hardware stores

He said in the last e-hummer ep that what we have been watching was a year's worth of work condensed. We are now caught up and he and his wife just had a baby so you'll probably be waiting for a bit. Even when it does come back it may not be as regular.
As other comments have said, he is still working on it but he is now on the bigger part of the project that involves more of the batteries and wiring which could take a while to put together and then he has to film and edit to make it into a video.
A quick tip: Its generally a good idea to have a straw going from the lowest point of the crack to just above the concrete resting line, when the concrete is hardened, you can remove the straw and allow 5 minutes or less just to get some air to parts of the concrete which may have not settled yet. You can fill the hole with concrete afterward. This isn't anything to worry about if it's just a shallow hole but for deeper projects, I advise doing this.
