Thank you!! Life long Jackson fan. I'm 74. Since 1966. Love you Leland, you are so self giving ❤️ John White, North Haven, CT. Have a wonderful day off!
Whenever I see RUclips clips of David Lindley - especially when he was young - I still can’t wrap my mind around the idea that he’s no longer with us and playing a gig out there somewhere…….🫤 I consider the entire “Running On Empty” thing to be so sacred - the perfect alignment of time, place, talent, circumstances - all coming together for a moment that can never really be repeated, especially in the era of music we now live in…….😢 It must be mind-blowing thinking back on that tour now that your 45+ years removed from the experience and knowing that you were a piece of something that was SO special to music fans around the world! The song writing, the playing, the raw emotion of live performances with all their quirks and warts included - I will always LOVE that album……..🤔
The 'Running On Empty' album has been a musical fixture in my life. The innovativeness, the concept, the music, everything within its spectrum have meant so much to me. It's probably the album where my love for the musicianship of the Section, and especially Russ and Leland, truly began. So cool to hear this 'outake.'
It blows me away that you diligently keep these cool documents coming. It’s enough work to be going from place to place, soundchecking, finding something reasonable to eat and heading off again and you do it all and you bring us along for the trip. That’s some classy stuff. Glad to see more tuning in to the channel, but I’m not too surprised. All the best.

This was very soothing. Love to you thinking of the missed friends, and relatives. It's not like we don't think of them every where, but I do think of a bunch of just tiny little endearing moments of people somehow more potently and randomly in a hotel room, by myself. It might be the lack of distractions at home, or that also because I sleep more in a hotel room than places I stumble across familiar things I feel compelled to just work on, on the way back to bed from getting up a few times. Plus there's all these memories just like the song itself is a memory, going down roads and haunts that you know you've been in and almost all the times, somewhat clearly, like yesterday. 💗🛣
Recently saw Jackson Browne at the Saenger, and am looking forward to the upcoming Lyle Lovett show this month! Thank you for sharing this amazing music! ❤️

Lovely, glad I got to see David many times. Especially memorable show at our home club touring El Rayo X. Didn’t recognize a guitar a kid in the band was playing. Ran into him in the restroom and asked about it and in the most classic Cali beach voice told me, “it’s a Silvertone dude!” Still makes me smile. Hello Leland. That was a wonderful show in Charlottesville last evening. The on-stage conversations were very interesting. You guys could do a whole show of just talking. Lyle seems truly respectful of the whole band and crew and I'm glad that's part of the show. His daughter really wanted to eat the fish she caught! Was this music included on the J.B. album? It's my new favorite.
Thank you Leland, this is quite a treat. Most released recording are like fishing with a net most of the fish are not ever caught. Keith Richards is said to have recorded on a small Phillips mono cassette recorder and an earlier model where the playback could be overridden like an overdrive. Some was even used in released recordings. What an ocean of recordings yet not caught in a net.
What a group of all-stars, beautiful lost gem. Grateful for you sharing. I would love to hear all of the recordings of that tour. I miss David too. Thank you for what you do. Gave me chills listening to this.
Love this, Jackson Browne’s Running on Empty album was/is one of my all time favorites. I can hear some familiar parts and I love this. God bless David Lindley! And you too Leland!
This track is on the 5.1 disc that Ladanyi did in 2005. Theres another track called "Cocaine Again". The song recorded on the bus is longer than the 1977 release
To me it is all of you on that album that establish to me the sound of Jackson's sound....You Lee.....Kootch.......Russ......Craig........and Lindley.......But Lindley's Steel is soooooooo JACKSON. Tough one. Nice bassin Lee!!!!
Hi Lee - and Jackson. I love Running on empty and I always wanted to hear more. A box set with more recordings from the tour would be welcome. Love your playing. All the best to you.

Thank you Leland for Room 124 - you have to close your eyes and enjoy this music. Glad to still have a ticket for tomorrow in Richmond and to be seated in the 4th row to hear and enjoy you guys again (already in Wolf Trap). By the way, I have the German pressing of Running on empty in my backpack, the soundtrack of my life.

David played with Ry Cooder heaps as well. Steven, check out Robbie Melville. A local who plays some beautiful guitar
Hello Steven 👍
@@artemisXsidecross Hi there brother.👍
I bought El Rayo X too. I love it. My brother and I have been known to spontaneously burst into the Quarter of a Man lyrics.
Super sweet work on the bass on this Lee. Just loving this.
Hi Craig!
@@Mark_Brooks Hi Mark!
Nice Leland! Thanks so much for that. Made my day!😎🎸
You are amazing..and tough to keep touring..
What a treat, thanks for playing that for us. RIP David Lindley.
Hi Artemis!

Always a treat to see your comment Sue, you seem like a lost younger sister I never had but wished I did. 👍
@@artemisXsidecross 🖐️ hope you're enjoying the day
What a group of all-stars, beautiful lost gem.
What a cool memory!
I love hearing that bottom shine through! Would this have been 😂early ‘77?
To me it is all of you on that album that establish to me the sound of Jackson's sound....You Lee.....Kootch.......Russ......Craig........and Lindley.......But Lindley's Steel is soooooooo JACKSON.
Tough one. Nice bassin Lee!!!!
Just beautiful… thanks Lee…🙏👌🙏
Hi Lee - and Jackson. I love Running on empty and I always wanted to hear more. A box set with more recordings from the tour would be welcome. Love your playing. All the best to you.
That was really beautiful. You took me way back to my college days. I sure am grateful for the music ❤
HI Lee! Bob Love here. Great session from Room 124. Good thing you had agreeable neighbors! I sure would love to have been one of them. Get some rest and I'll look forward to your venue visit tomorrow. Take care my friend!!
Thanks Leland for checking in and sharing with us what it's like to be an accomplished, world renowned musician on the road, peforming in one town after another. Keep up the good work.
Beautiful Noodle🎼 Thanks for sharing
So nice! And just as I was thinking it, you said it: "Wow, I really miss David Lindley!" He had such a clear and unique voice on the steel! Thanks for sharing, Lee!
Great to hear the Peace Love Bass up front and taking the lead melody.
Beautiful little piece..thanks Leland.
Thank you for sharing this Leland👍🏻 I grew up in Collinsville Ill. not far from Edwardsville & you all played at MRF "Mississippi River Festival" under the big tent at SIUE "Southern Ill. University Edwardsville" sometime back in the 70s. My Mom took me to that show & somehow knew what room this & a couple other songs were wrote & recorded in. Later on she took me to that same Holiday Inn & requested room #124 on a weekend just to be able to say we stayed in the same room. Those were the good old days my friend❤️✌🏻
What a tranquil jam.
You are correct with your book title, "Everybody Loves Me"
I have admired your work with so many artists through the years.
Thank you for all the beautiful music.
This was unbelievably cool. I will listen to this over and over envisioning you guys playing this. Wow! Goosebumps. It’s like discovering the hidden track on my LP……WHICH I STILL HAVE!!! 😵💫
Evening Lee and all
Greetings from Epping Uk
