I'm an American living in Vienna, Austria and they just showed Driving Miss Daisy about a month ago on cable here. I hadn't seen it in years. It really is a wonderful movie. I'd actually forgotten Dan Aykroyd was in it too, even he's in his 70s now lol.

I am a big fan of Morgan Freeman. I enjoy his movies and his unique voice. I enjoyed him on " Bucket list" the closest I got to him was taking a picture with him at the wax museum . May he live a long and prosperous life.
I loved everything about one film he was in. It was Morgan, Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Karl Urban, Helen Mirren, Mary-Louise Parker, Brian Cox, and Richard Dreyfuss, plus a bunch of other great people. The film was RED. It was an intrigue, comedy, rom-com, farce, action, adventure, fantasy, whatever. It was a great film with an incredible cast. You never think you will get that sort of cast together in one place. Here you did,and they were brilliantly wonderfully outrageous, as they should have been. Everyone got their moments to shine,and they did so without detracting from anyone else's moments.

It received no Oscar buzz in any category, not even effects or lighting or anything else. Yet some of the films that get Oscars I want to scream. Marissa Tomei gave the performance of her career and deserved her Oscar, but many come up short. I am still working on how Slumdog Millionaire was the best picture. All the films out there that year, and the best picture, was a foreign language Bollywood film. Make it the best foreign language film, but not the best picture.
