    HI, love the film. I met one of these at my fathers home, It came into the kitchen and we were laughing in excitement and joy as it batted about . AS I was laughing it flew into my mouth and I had to just keep my mouth open for it to come out. It was incredibly beautiful . It stayed in the kitchen for a while and had eyes of glowing red. Sadly as i was observing it's eyes it died. It's bright eyes just switched off. I wrote a song called The Insect. It the song there is a bit where I gasp, and I took this idea from when the moth flew into my mouth. A fantastic beast.

    its weird how different insects really are from what we see when we look at catterpillars we just see a long slow moving creature but from near its litterally something very majestic and uneque

    Absolutely stunning! Such a beautiful caterpillar and moth.
    It was an incredible film, I look forward to seeing more of your work. I wondered though, have you not managed to capture an eclosion yet, or did you leave it or for some reason? :)

      I am sorry, but I do not understand: "have you not managed to capture an eclosion yet, or did you leave it or for some reason? Would you please clarify what you mean. I hope you do not mind answering my question.
      Best regards from Krakow, Adam

      @@groszek13you 4 years late, but "eclosion" is when an adult insect emerges from the pupal case. At 10:13 in the video, it went from pupa to moth without us being shown the process of the moth coming out of the pupal case.

    Hello Adam,
    this again is a wonderful video with lots of details. As I can see you got a great talent shooting close up clips of caterpillars, hatching from the eggs. Watching the detail, when the caterpillar starts opening the egg shell (movements of the mandibles) I wonder how it get a grip on the egg shell.. Do you know any about the structure of the inner surface o the egg shell. Is it smooth or sufficient rough that the mandibles will have a grip?
    Have a nice day
    Rüdiger

    • @groszek13you
      @groszek13you  9 лет назад

      Dear Rüdiger! This is an interesting observation, but I have to admit that I did not notice that the inner wall of the egg was even rough. From my preliminary observations last year I remember that it is rather very smooth. Thank you for your insight. At the next breeding I will examine this fact. Many best regards! Adam

      Ta biała ciecz to płyn fizjologiczny służący do odstraszania ewentualnych napastników (jaszczurki, inne owady, płazy itd). Przed odlotem motyl zrzuca zbędny balast. Niektóre motyle mają czerwony płyn, beżowy itd. Z niektórych informacji wynika, że może u niektórych gatunków być nawet parzący. A.

    • @groszek13you

      Hi Rafael! Butterflies formed in the pupae have an excess of physiological liquid needed to get out of the pupae and scare the potential enemy - similar to skunk - although the liquid is not as foul... In the case of not using it, before the first flight the butterfly dumps it. Regards! Adam
