@@Jason5818UI Marcus and Lebron elevate those around them and are plain winners. Mike is an all-time great but the truth is he NEVER made his teammates better. Mike better be glad there weren't any social media back then or we would have a totally different opinion of Jordan.

Our hearts were on fire and thrilled to hear such incredible music and truly grateful to Jazz Night in America to give the public a chance to hear one of the greatest performances ever. Thanks too to Marcus Miller and all the musicians- a totally enthralling experience!

I'm still amazed at the amount of projects Marcus puts together_an elder statesman who's still a young man at 62! I first heard him on Streamline by Lenny White in 78...& consequently bought every record I could find with Marcus on the bass. Superb concert celebrating our main man, Miles Davis 😊 👍

I'm sort of thrilled to hear Marcus on that passive jazz. Feels like I'm getting a glimpse through some other window into his bass playing prowess. I've heard him play finger style before but on this bass, I feel like I can hear how he played at some point in his life, before he became this MARCUS MILLER!

One of my regrets was missing that specific concert in light of the inclusion of Vernon Reid. Notwithstanding though, I was fortunate enough to check out Marcus Miller at Metrotech in Brooklyn the August of that year. Marcus has been able to achieve the near impossible of combining the intensities of John Coltrane, Larry Graham, Stanley Clarke and Jimi Hendrix in his delivery. Absolutely on a different level and off the charts.

Miles Davis "curse" was a deep psychodelic trip, quiet tipical for the time he lived - the freaky Hippy Flower Power epoche with T. Leary´s philosophy "the doors of perception".
His art was to transform all this intellectual feelings into really good Jazz Fusion music! Thanks to the bass icone Marcus Miller to introduce us perfectly and posthum in the (complicated and brilliant) world and music of Miles Davis...

In 1992 i was studying jazz a the Guildhall school of music and drama in London. We got a message that Wynton Marsalis was coming in to do a master class . First thing he said to my friend on piano was why was he playing So What voicings ? Errrr whatever. Then i asked wynton about my favourite Miles Davis lp called We Want Miles , the live double lp with Marcus Millers going nuts on a tuned down fender jazz . wynton said no he looked puzzled and said no he hadn't heard the album . I was shocked . I asked him if he liked Jaco and he said no errrr and was laughing . What an idiot . I said some other stuff which i will leave out . But saying that we was all well into Live at Blues Alley and all Wynton lps. . Standard time . Remember talking to Wynton outside Ronnie Scotts and we were talking about clothes but i was thinking that while Jaco was a sound innovator you dismissed him as nothing....
