I will tell my Chick Corea story here: It happened in 1974 in Brockport, NY where he and the original Return to Forever gave a concert at the exposition hall near the college I was attending. I was fortunate enough to be standing in the right place when the band exited. Chick and Lenny White came out first and waited for their vehicle. I suddenly got brave, walked up to him and said, _"Excuse me, Mr. Corea, what advice can you give someone who wants to be as good at what you do?"_ He grinned at me and said, _"You've got to love it like it was your child. Good luck."_ Waved, turned on his heel and off they went.
RIP Chick Corea, was so lucky to be in consert with you, best show in my life so i raise my glass to you, and thank you for all the incredible music you have given me! ❤ ❤ ❤

If not for yourself then for the rest of us" - Chick Corea's last words - the most beautiful ever written. The man, the music , the legacy - Chick Forever . RIP
My Chick story... I saw his show with Bela Fleck way back in 2007, bought the Enchantment CD and waited afterward for them to sign it. They were both very gracious - I told Chick I admired his fearlessness. He laughed and said, "It's just the fun of it, man!" It sounds simple, but that moment really helped unlock my improvisation. It was like he was giving me permission to just go for it and trust the music. And I'm no kid - I had just turned 40, and I feel like I've been growing ever since. Thank you, Maestro, and godspeed!

Amazing pianist. Wow! I never get tired of listening to Chick Corea and always discover something new, a new little details in something he does. Astonishing also that nobody in the audience knew who Scarlatti was. One must admire Chick Corea for "splaining" the audience by calling Scarlatti "his thing"... The Scarlatti piece is breathtaking. Dave Weckl by far is the best today. A graceful powerhouse. I have seen him several times over the years. Watching him play changes me at the cellular level. First time was at a small local bar outside NYC he sat in with a friends band. This was right before he hooked up with Chick. I was hooked at that point to follow him.

its a snow day in RVA. Chillin out with Chick Corea. Never heard of him before today.
Ur in for a helluva ride, my friend! Start from scratch.
Holy smoke, that piano, that bass, and those drums are on fire, slightly stuck for words but please don't call the brigade!
One of my all time favorite jazz/classical pianists, who's performance is just, incredible as usual, so how is the entire audience able to sit there and not move?
Saw one slight head bob... It's okay to move folks. With that much rich, colorful, deep, rhythmic improvisation being put out Chick and these amazing musicians,
you have surppress all body movement? Thank you God for allowing Mr. Corea to leave us with such wonderful music.
I was there on the audience! What a night!
Wooowww!!
Guys, he was on the audience!
조빔은 세상을 어떻게 바라보았길래 이런 목가적이고도 환상적인 노래를 만들 수 있는걸까요.... 부러울 정도예요 음악으로나마 그의 시각을 경험할 수 있다는게 행복할 따름입니다.
Sentiremos saudades Chick 😢. Seu legado estará sempre em nossos corações e ouvidos..
Starting in 1973 I met him away from the stage many times until his death, and I really miss him. He was such a nice and easy person, apart from his musical genius.
And regarding this band: He loved them both he told me, Marcus' playing was always a challenge he loved, he told me.
Beautiful touch on the drums
