I turn 25 in a couple months, crazy to think I’ve been playing this game for over 3/4 of my life. This soundtrack is one of the most nostalgic things i can think of
My best friend on the game, pmed me that he found out this amazing place to make money, we met at varrok east bank, we home teleported to lummy, walked to portsarim, went to karamja, got to the house portal, went south and he told me lets kill these, they drop 10k each kill, i didnt find it suspicious, he was my friend and they were low lvl, i attacked one and so did he, in mere second i saw the poison, my heart stopped, i had food, i did not have a teleport or run energy . I started walking towards the ship, i spent weeks making bowstring, cutting trees, mining pure ess, mining iron ore. All the time and memories started rushing through my head, i started crying. I kept walking. He kept following me and saying hes sorry but he needs money. Thinking about it now, idk why i didnt log off, i just started walking and crying. I died soon after but i promised myself i wouldnt trust anyone, ever. I was 13 when this happened, now im 26.
Was the Lumbridge home teleport implemented at that time? Same thing happened to me. The prick kept trading with me to give me antipoison, but kept declining the trade in an attempt to stall. I logged out, moved worlds, home tele'd to Lumbridge, and banked my stuff.
16:18 when you were 12 years old, 300K was everything you've got and just entered wilderness for the first time. Exploring for half an hour already and you've encountered a player who attacks you for no reason and one shots you. Next thing you're poor & in front of Lumbridge castle. Simpler days.
Oh boy! You have no idea how I appreciate the description! I always wondered if we can buy these sounds to listen to while driving or doing the house work. I'm an old lady, retired and with to much time to kill. Then I'd rather kill dragons and monsters, make potions and harvesting my crops 😂 so it's my favorite game. The music get inside my head and never leaves. Besides, I started playing after 10 years I left and so I noticed the changes. I missed a lot listening to everything you posted. Thank you. 💖
I don’t think the developers realize how close some of us hold this game to our heart. Genuinely one of the only games that’s soundtrack can get me emotional.
I quit in 2012 like many others (cause EOC) but came back to get closure cause I hadn't gotten any skills to 99 yet, so I got my 99 strength cape in 2016, It was great. Now I can say I've achieved a 99 on my favorite childhood game. Peace ✌️

Love to u all, we are a great generation. Build upon the good old rs days, remember embrace the good old days and go fur wards. But Dont lose touch with the child in you. That child like awe, wonder and enthusiasm can still be accessed, its not gone. We still all have "god", "love", "ego less mind“ whatever you want to call it within us. A mind without judgment and labeling, that mind that logged in for the first time so many years ago. Be conscious about it, feel your senses when listening to osrs music and enjoy the moment fully, Peace y'all ✌️
Beautifully said, thank you. A great reminder that these feelings are inside us. And we can access them anytime. That we can feel them in day to day life. That we can feel this same awe, wonder, and ethusiasm we felt for Runescape, in our day to day life. Life itself can be full of this feeling. Thank you for sharing, much love to you.
Man I wish could tattoo your comment. Shit has been getting wild in the last few years, some of us have been terrified by this weird journey called growing up, but we still strive forwards somehow. The adventure of life is still far from over for folks our age :))) Greetings and best wishes from a 24 yo chilean my friend!

It is August 10, 2020. Last night, I decided to play Runescape for the first time. I'm actually enjoying it. I wish I grew up in the golden age of Runescape, though.
This game was my first memory of using my femininity to get a guy to simp and help me complete quests. I was 7 when I unlocked this power and I’m an adult now. Thank you RuneScape, sorry men
My brother and I used to return from school and I'd watch him play Runescape for hours together. We'd always go to the giant dungeon by GE in Varrock and farm Limpwert Root and sell it in GE for buying new armor. I really miss those days.
I started around 2005, I'm 30 now I'm currently listening to this as I fabricate stone countertops irl...the grind never stopped, im just onto new skills... I will play as long as it's around... runescape is the only game I've played consistently.. every other games novelty wore off eventually, not this game.. osrs and rs3 are my favorite games no doubt....thanks to the uploader for making my life just that much better😅😊
I turn 27 next week. Makes me feel old sometimes. You know how it is, every year just seems to go by faster and faster. But these songs take me way back to a simpler time. Everything is simple when you're a child. It's the kind of thing that reminds me to try my hardest not to burden my kids with the trials of real life and just let them have fun while nothing matters. Man, nostalgia is a powerful feeling
I started crying at 32:13 I hummed that song constantly for about half my life. I'd hug my cat and sing about her with those notes. Same with 38:15. I miss her. She was a big kitty, strong too, and a beautiful tortishell shorthair with a white belly and paws. Her name was Camie May Sue. Edit: honestly goes for half this soundtrack.
god this comment hit me. i literally used to hum runescape songs to my cat too. i still have my cat but he's old and man time really flies im gonna cry
If, like me, you're an nostalgic gamer on your 20s reviving those magical memories of simplier and happier times through this music, let me tell you: I love you P.D: Man a vinyl edition for this would be a blessing. The magical nostalgic feeling would increase by x1000
Its funny to think back in the day I used to mute this most of the time and play my own tracks, its understandable as any type of music could get repetitive. However its only now do you realize what an amazing veriety of music the creators of rs made, really shows how much love they put in it and lets not forget all those quests and dialog. Damn I really wanna give this game another go. :') Would prefer a time machine if anyone has one tho. X)
I don't know if it is just nostalgia, but this game is CHARMING. Like, wow. I remember playing it when I was 7, not knowing what to do, but still having fun. I remember almost all of these songs beat for beat 13 years later.
Sometimes I listen to this and feel emotional. Reminds me of times I had no worries in life and just chilled playing RuneScape all day with my mates, whom most of which I rarely see now, if at all.
1:03:23 For some reason, this one hit different. This is the sound you heard when you first entered the wilderness, is it not? It invokes such a menacing feeling despite being MIDI.
Sitting here with tears in my eyes thanks to newbie melody. Never been hit by such a wave of warm nostalgia in my life. Thanks to everyone that shared in this experience
I was about to write about how nostalgic this music is. How it reminds me of the old simple days. Everything was wonderful and new. Awe and mystery. How I learned so much from this game I used to play. I don't have to write that. It seems you guys already expressed this for me. I sure most of you guys played around the same time I used too and if so thank you and I love you all. The game was so fun and the experience was a staple experience in my life.
Deep into trauma recovery from a turbulent childhood currently and this soundtrack is so healing. RS was my escape in 2006/7. Thankfully, last year, I changed my server to the US one and have distanced myself from the environment that hurt me. Now, at 3pm on a weekday, 18 years later, I'm waiting for my wife to come home with coffee while I listen to the same soundtrack. We grew up, but sometimes for the better.
Man this was the absolute best. I play osrs again and with the immense impact this game had on my life…man. I’m 31 with kids and my kids will play. They will get to experience the magic I did….yes. Oh yes….
I remember my 1st account goldenclaw66. I remember the joy of completing my first quest, killing my first goblin, dying to the dark wizards, entering the wildy, all the way up to finally equipping my first full set of rune. Runescape made every first in the game a moment to be remembered forever and for that I thank you Runescape; thank you for blessing my childhood with so many great memories
My first account was hacked and perma banned. I recovered it recently because i wanted the original username so that im not typing in an email each login and the ban reason was scamming, got to read the convo the scammer did and i dont understand how that got my account a perma.
Almost got excited lol. I knew someone named daggerclaw6 and have been looking for them since I was in 7th grade. I graduated college almost 2 years ago. I hope they're okay.
Ahh yeas, the Scape main track overflows me with nostalgia, memories of a simpler life. Also a few sad memories, I remember I once tried to log in and I just couldn't. I was typing in my password repeatedly to no avail, I thought for sure my account and been hacked and I never cried so hard in my life before. Turns out I just had my Caps Lock on lol
That Runescape main theme song always puts me in a good mood. Reminds me of what I was about to get into. A digital world of low poly timeless adventure with other players.
As we grow older we take a look back at what used to be, and think if it will ever be like that again. The beauty of childhood and how it becomes a memory in the deepest part of your brain. Let us never forget.... to all my fellow Runescapers i wish you all the best in life.
Gosh 1:25:16 bringing back memories of completing the Underground Pass quest. What an immense amount of time to make it through that whole west ardy saga!
One of my fondest memories of this game was when i started playing it with a friend from middle school. At the time we didn't know much or had much but i will always remember the iron chainmail he gave me for my birthday. Though it wasn't much, at the time it meant the world to me. We are no longer in contact with each other having grown our separate ways, but this will remain a core memory in my life.
This truly brought me back to a great time. I moved to a new neighborhood in 2006 when I was in 6th grade and ended up playing till about 2007. Was hard moving away from my old neighborhood (was only 15 minute drive away, but as a kid it feels your entire life is ripped away) I would rush home, run downstairs and connect with my friends. I did meet a girl from Florida whom I ended up texting and connected with which turned into developing emotions with over an 8 year period. We don't talk anymore but Runescape brings me to a happy time, wherever she is I hope she is doing okay.
I think what made Runescape music so good was the variety. It almost felt as enjoyable to find new music in different areas as to level up, because you could go back and listen to those tracks over and over again later with the music feature showing all the music you'd 'discovered'.
17 years ago today I started my RuneScape journey. I may have taken breaks that have lasted from months to years from the game but never fully abandoned it. I am even as we speak grinding barrows in oldschool
While I was reading your comment, I was like, "Damn, 17 years?!" Then I did the math and realized I started playing 20 years ago...oof. Someone slow the clock down please.
i will add my voice to the overwhelming sentimental and nostalgic feelings when listening to these tracks. i havent heard the original sea shanty in 18 years and i whistled it tune for tune. even for simple midi tracks made on broken programming, its still amazing and i will remember it until i die
Came here from TierZoo because he uses that "Harmony" track so much. With the amount of Runescape references that dude makes, I just KNEW it must have been from Runescape. Good song!
During my school years, there were two things that completely and utterly consumed my life: RuneScape, and Erin Hunter’s _Warriors_ book series. (Coincidentally, I happened to discover both at the same time - the start of sixth grade, at the beginning of middle school.) And I’ll always have fond memories of the impact they made on my life. I remember the days of going to the store to buy a new three-month membership card and the latest book to be published to shelves. I’d spend so much of time at home with them, but even while I was in my classes I’d be reading Warriors and texting my best friend, whom I had met through playing RuneScape. There were a lot of other works of fiction that I enjoyed in those days - other video games, books, movies, television shows - but out of all of them, it was RuneScape and Warriors that were the two to truly stick with me forever. To this day they remain at the top of my list of favorites, and I know they always will be there. They gave me something very special, something that I still chase after in every new experience that I have today, as an adult. They were these vast and wondrous worlds that I found myself getting lost in, full of places to see, people to meet, stories to hear. I could immerse myself into them for years and never stop feeling amazed, never losing or breaking that captivating hold they had on me. Other media had those sorts of things too, obviously, but none felt as special to me as those two had. The worlds inside of RuneScape and Warriors were places that seemed to go on forever, never running out of new things to discover. They helped to shape much of what I love about fiction, and in others ways they also helped to shape me as a person as well, teaching lessons and giving me perspectives that I found (and continue to find) a way to apply in the outside world too. They went above and beyond simply serving as entertainment to keep child-me occupied in my spare time; I probably wouldn’t be the same person that I am today, had I not experienced them. This music gives me a sensation of nostalgia that kind of works for both of them. They’re so closely tied to one another in my memories, it feels as if the sounds call out to both, even if they’re not actually related. This is very much the “soundtrack of my childhood”.
I'm 25 but feeling 7 right now Hope everyone enjoyed their time playing as much as I did. Wish I could do it all over again it was definitely taken for granted. 😩 Both of my uncle's were top 10 at one stage. One whom was even 2nd and still plays RS3 I think but bless Brent "Tysonevans" may he rest in peace.
There are people out there right now who cannot ever know the nostalgia we are feeling when we hear this after 12-ish years of sobriety from RuneScape.

it's 2021, I own a company & here I stumble upon music that takes me back to where it all started. This game taught me more about hustling than my school did. If only I could teleport back in time, just how in the game we could draw a circle around us and teleport back to Lumbridge.
It's 2021, coronavirus still exists, all my friends I used to play with back in 2011 are offline nowdays, everyone has aged well except for me, All my friends has jobs but no time except for me.
Lol that's sad
But you had food? Why not just eat the food then, to outheal the poison?
Probably because he couldn't take the enemies even with the food.
I'm sorry, bud.
Was the Lumbridge home teleport implemented at that time?
Same thing happened to me. The prick kept trading with me to give me antipoison, but kept declining the trade in an attempt to stall. I logged out, moved worlds, home tele'd to Lumbridge, and banked my stuff.
How is "Book Of Spells" not the most played timestamp on this video? Easily a banger, even 20+ years later. 🔥🔥
16:18 when you were 12 years old, 300K was everything you've got and just entered wilderness for the first time. Exploring for half an hour already and you've encountered a player who attacks you for no reason and one shots you. Next thing you're poor & in front of Lumbridge castle. Simpler days.
Haven't played Runescape for 10 years and Woke up with Harmony stuck in the head , these soundtracks are so incredible
That’s why I’m here, had a dream about rs last night
Peace ✌️
EOC?
@@Gamer88334 Evolution of combat
@@justinwayne445 EOC ruined it for me too. Thankfully I’ve completed all magic missions and got 99 mage and range before that happened.
@@Windgoddess540 I was too young to be aware of stuff like that, but how did EOC ruin it for so many people?
@@TheMCricket it completely changed the combat of the game from a point a click style to a more modern style which alot of people didn't like. Plus early EOC was kinda ass.

It is August 10, 2020. Last night, I decided to play Runescape for the first time. I'm actually enjoying it. I wish I grew up in the golden age of Runescape, though.

1:57:23 is my favourite.
When i was kid i loves these and now i am 30 years old and these mean even more for me. Why they dont have soundtracks like these more??
Look for music with the instruments used idk :)
Wow! Well said!
I don't know if it is just nostalgia, but this game is CHARMING. Like, wow. I remember playing it when I was 7, not knowing what to do, but still having fun.

Harmony will always be a banger of a track.

So nostalgic. I love it. Absolutely great community to be a part of. Great people, gameplay, dopamine, graphics, and soundtrack

Never thought a video game could be an important part of my life but in 2006 I decided to start playing this and here I am 14 years later...
That newbie melody took me back to my 12 year old self faster then the speed of light!
killing chickens and goblins
54:30 so many hours spent here

I'm 25 but feeling 7 right now
Hope everyone enjoyed their time playing as much as I did. Wish I could do it all over again it was definitely taken for granted. 😩
Both of my uncle's were top 10 at one stage. One whom was even 2nd and still plays RS3 I think but bless Brent "Tysonevans" may he rest in peace.
There are people out there right now who cannot ever know the nostalgia we are feeling when we hear this after 12-ish years of sobriety from RuneScape.
