      Three things ruined basketball.
      1. Coach Popovich introduced load management.
      2. The Warriors, mainly Stephen Curry. Removed the nuance of basketball and every team chucks threes all game.
      3. Houston Rockets Analytics ball. Made every team play exactly the same.

Playing style reminds me of Scottie Pippen, LeBron James. If it had not been for those nagging injuries, he probably would have been season MVPs, NBA championships, more All-Star appearances, and been on the 75th Anniversary Greatest Players. @SoCalifornia Eddie Jones was a good player while also being an all-star when kobe got there. While kobe may have put up somewhat similar numbers he would have probably been somewhat inefficient in doing so. Kobe averaged more turnovers than assists and shot 41%. Why would you start kobe when you have a then all-star caliber Jones? Kobe did not start because he was not ready, YET. Not only that he pretty much forced his way onto a team that had plenty of wings by saying he only would play for the Lakers. I don't see why Kobe would start or where the coach tweeked. Not only that, Kobe got his shot in the playoffs and had 4 late airballs vs the Jazz but that was because he was ready, right?

For those wondering like me, the game ended 100 to 97 in double OT! ( Not 156 to 148 like today...) Van Exel messed up for not really going for the 3.. Wow Kobe and Grant Hill had a great game here.. Especially Grant Hill...what a clutch 3. I always end up confusing Eddie Jones with Kobe because they have similar numbers and body style. I loved the Pistons logo and colors back then too... 90s were the peak of basketball.

Mid range, post ups, big man with footwork, i miss the variety of 90's NBA. Nowadays in the NBA, every player is chucking 3 pointers. Nothing about it is entertaining. Heck i have more fun shooting 3s in my backyard than watching today's NBA.

@@KingAche13not sure why you're trying to diminish Hill. What kevincolder said was true, and while Kobe obviously goes on to have the better career, it's childish for you to run interference for Kobe.

Grand Hill & MacGrady's shots were not as flexible and creative as Kobe Bryants'. And Iverson partied too much. And Penny didn't have the killer instinct as Kobe had.
