People dont realize that Jordan spawned a whole breed of new players including Kobe, D wade, Tmac, Vince Carter, James Harden, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony and Lebron James. They all grew up watching Mike and at the time MJ was playing, there was noone else in the league who was considered to be as good as he was. MJ was the best in the game during his career and everyone knew it. He was also idolized by many more even Allen Iverson. Context is what's ALWAYS missing from these MJ vs (fill in the blank) videos, when younger fans try to comment on them.
They just tend to look at things at face value.
But the REALITY of the matter is that at that time, this was CHI 3rd game in as many nights.
And being the OLDEST TEAM in the league at that time, they were a bit fatigued. Because by the 3rd quarter they were gassed and it showed.
Whereas the lakers were one of the YOUNGER TEAMS in the league, and had a day off before this game. So they were CLEARLY RESTED, not to mention jacked up SKY HIGH about playing MJ and the defending champion Bulls.
They caught the CHI at the right time.
