There's always going to be controversy over who deserved to win a particular Oscar. It doesn't really matter. It's Katherine Hepburn, a woman who came from a famed New England family of trailblazing women and who managed to be one in the film industry. Cate is a talented actress who was tasked with portraying a talented woman known to many and beloved by the Academy. Given the difficult decision of deciding who gets the honor, they gave it to Ms. Blanchett for doing Ms. Hepburn justice. In lesser hands in could've slid into an SNL-esque campy parody.

Sadly, Hepburn passed away a few months before this honor was given to another actress for playing her, but I believe that Katharine Hepburn received her 5th Oscar through Blanchett's performance, and it is entirely deserving.

Blanchett is one class act. She is great in everything she does. And that gown will be one of those that goes down in Oscar history--simultaneously glamorous, edgy, and classic.

One of my fav actress ever! I discovered her in LOTR movies and i've started to follow her in every movies she has made all this years. I would have seen her winning for "Elizabeth" like i would like to have seen Kidman winning for Moulin Rouge... :(

As much as I love Ms. Blanchett in the Aviator, I still say Virginia Madsen was Hands Down Best Supporting Actress

Nothing better than Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) awarding a well deserved performance to an amazing actress.

He was good in "The Aviator". That's the first time I believe Leonardo DiCaprio has totally disappeared into a character. There were moments during the movie when I wondered if it was him. But he was up against Jamie Foxx, who won for playing Ray Charles.

Wow. She really is superior to Meryl Streep. She's very classy.. Gorgeous. Glamorous. What can we say for? She always beyond the expectations of people. One word: SUPREME.
