Leone Mendoza I think if she won for Elizabeth, the Academy won't give oscar to her for the Aviator. But I believe she will be the next actor to get the third acting oscar and double-digit oscar nominations.
Mimi Kidman if it wasn't for that elizabeth snub and if she hadn't had had that 6 year break from film (CEO of sydney theatre company) she probably would be on 4 by now!

She really was robbed that time Gwyneth won! that was a terrible mistake! But i think she deserved this Oscar too, she is an extraordinary actress, the best of her generation in my opinion! I'm so happy she won for Blue Jasmine!
I think Cate totally deserved this award! I am a major fan of Katharine Hepburn. I have seen most of her movies, and I thought Cate's portrayal of her was brilliant, from her voice to her mannerisms to even her look. One of the most well deserved wins of all time in my book!
Date should get tons of Oscars to make up for one of the largest snub in history, Gwyneth beating her for Shakespeare In Love. She'll win for Blue Jasmine for sure.
God, she has so much class and poise, the way she talks and handles herself. Clearly excited and humbled, yet not over-emotional or exaggerated. I admire her so much, not only for her tremendous acting skill but for her persona as well.
One of my favourite Oscar speeches. Short, concise and a wonderfully witty last line. Also, it's kind of funny that Gwyneth Paltrow is sitting behind her the year she wins.
And now, if she speaks it's the same bs like all fake and dishonest celebrities. Also she was very natural. Now she looks operated and does botox. I feel pity for her.
Cate, The Queen! And living Miss Hepburn, the greatest of all! Academy, post her Oscar yesterday for Blue Jasmine. I can´t wait so see her victory again... :)

There's always going to be controversy over who deserved to win a particular Oscar. It doesn't really matter. It's Katherine Hepburn, a woman who came from a famed New England family of trailblazing women and who managed to be one in the film industry. Cate is a talented actress who was tasked with portraying a talented woman known to many and beloved by the Academy. Given the difficult decision of deciding who gets the honor, they gave it to Ms. Blanchett for doing Ms. Hepburn justice. In lesser hands in could've slid into an SNL-esque campy parody.
I loved Cate in The Aviator. To me she steals the show with her portrayal of Katharine Hepburn. I will watch the whole movie but the section where she is dominant, it is a pleasure to watch.
I love Cate Blanchett not only is she a superb actress she is also a STAR Cate has a commanding presence on screen like Crawford Davis or Hepburn something very old Hollywood about her not too many actresses in film have that extra something that she has
I love Cate, but Virginia Madsen should have won for "Sideways", she won many of the critic society awards that year and really nailed it in that film.
agreed. blanchett was typically great as hepburn, but madsen's performance in Sideways had so much range and was so subtle, it's really hard not to feel like this was a make-up for blanchett losing to paltrow.
Films i want Cate Blanchett to win Oscar: 1. Lord of the Rings ( As Galadriel ( my favorite act from her 😍 ) ) 2. Thor "Ragnarök" ( As Hela ) 3. "Elizabeth" ( As Elizabeth ) And overall all of her movies :)
I'm sure Cate will win not only one, but at least two more awards. She is being cast in VERY good films and this year she is doing another with Rooney (i don't know the name of the film) but, come on! She is QUEEN CATE of course the Academy will give her more awards, she is the best actress of her generation and probably one of the best ones i cinema history!
Cate played Kate very well. I remember seeing this in the theatre and inspecting her performance and she did a damn good job resurrecting Hepburn from the 30s for us to enjoy. Sadly, Hepburn passed away a few months before this honor was given to another actress for playing her, but I believe that Katharine Hepburn received her 5th Oscar through Blanchett's performance, and it is entirely deserving.
Closer is one of my favorites, and not only was Natalie gorgeous in the film, but she outshined everyone in the film. She Outshined Julia Roberts. How the hell is that even possible?
Blanchett is one class act. She is great in everything she does. And that gown will be one of those that goes down in Oscar history--simultaneously glamorous, edgy, and classic.
